      Fantastic to hear you can enjoy a coffee still without caffeine. I don't understand why some people don't seem to get this. They say decaf is a joke and why bother etc. Well, this is just one reason for decaf, not everyone reacts well to caffeine but still wants to enjoy a nice hot coffee each morning. Thank you for sharing! 🙌🥰🤗

      Same here with anxiety. Strangeley, decaf still gives me palpitations sometimes. I wonder if it's interacting with lyrica, or it's my empty stomach in the morning, or just placebo... 🤷‍♂️

      I agree, with bad anxiety. I used to drink a regular coffee, but few years ago I started to suffer with anxiety and when I was drinking regular coffee it made me really uneasy and tense all day. Now I switched to decaf so I can enjoy a cup of coffee and still relax.

    I'm old enough to remember the reactions to alcohol free beer. There were perhaps even more jokes about that. I couldn't care less if people joke about defac because I think it's a wonderful invention. I was forced to stop regular coffee over a year ago as it began to play havoc with my stomach. I'm OK with tea, but it just didn't satisfy like coffee. I missed it so much I would dream about it. I stopped using tobacco 8 years ago, but I fell back on ecigs which I still use and enjoy without the toxicity of actual cigarettes. Now I've fell back on defac only a month ago. Don't know why it took this long to try it. Anyway, I love it. That wonderful incomparable taste without the anxiety and heartburn, nausea etc. Thanks for very informative video.

    • @Rydecoffeecoach
      @Rydecoffeecoach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it's exactly like the alcohol free beer jokes! Now people love them and it's very useful when you're designated driver. Decaf has so many health benefits just without caffeine. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

      Yep I drink decaf because caffeine raises my BP and anxiety as well as gives me stomach issues. I drink NA beer because I like the taste, but stopped drinking alcohol almost 7 years ago because I didn't want to be a drunk anymore.
      Do what makes you happy.

    The foam on that latte was incredibly stable.
    I really enjoy coffee, but I also enjoy being able to sleep, and I think limiting intake of addictive substances is always good, so decaf after my first drink in the morning. I'd love to see a wider variety of decaf available, but from what I've observed from behind the counter, stores stocking that much decaf is just not going to be a solid business decision unless people's perception of coffee and decaf changes a lot.

    • @Rydecoffeecoach
      @Rydecoffeecoach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep absolutely true. The perception needs to change first then the varieties will be boundless. You can actually take any single or blend and make it a decaf which I think is amazing. I hope to make my Il Caramello blend (yummy malts and caramels) and make it a decaf. People love it!

    I like how they say "Sugar Method" on some of the coffees that use the solvents. The thought process is because the acetate is derived from sugars that makes it the "Sugar Method" when it's basically just nail polish remover.

    Coffee is great in small quantities. If you have coffee a few times a week its more efficient than more. Your body builds up a tolerance to it which requires you to need more with each dose. If you allow a gap between each day you drink it (or more if possible) youll be a cheap coffee date❤ same as with alcohol

    While generally interesting, there are a couple of things wrong with your video.
    The way you describe the Swiss Water Process (SWP) is quite wrong, I suggest you read up on it so you know what you're selling 😏. It's not super environmentally friendly either.
    - You generally need double the amount of beans, since half of them go to waste in the first part of the process (!).
    - It uses *a lot* of water.
    - There are not many SWP plants around the world, the main one is in Vancouver. So huge amounts of coffee beans need to make a large detour via Vancouver.
    - The caffeine which is removed in the SWP cannot be recovered and sold for other purposes to recover costs.
    Also, most of your infographics suggest that decaffeination works in roasted beans, which of course it doesn't, it's done with green beans.
    And the background music, geez... 🤕
    What you are absolutely right about is that decaf coffee can taste great 👍, it's just harder to find a good one compared to regular beans. And good decaf will always be more expensive than good, regular coffee.

    I don't really understand why there should be a joke about decaf. I love coffee - the smell, taste & the various flavors you can create from it. I drink more than 6 cups a day. The first time I tasted it was when I was 5 yrs old, it was instant Nescafe classic. Instant coffee was the only thing available at that time in my place (that was the '70s) But, the smell of it early in the morning was heaven to me, it was my "wake me up". So, I had to sneak drinking it (i was of course prohibited from drinking coffee at that age). Now, at my age, too much caffeine can probably give me a stroke. I still can't stop drinking more than a cup of regular coffee. But, decaf has been such a "godsend" to me. I can still enjoy the smell & taste of coffee all day/night without shaking & palpitations. I am not a coffee connoisseur, I just love coffee. So, hopefully, there will be more better decaf coffee in the future for those who love and enjoy coffee but whose caffeine intake is limited or prohibited.

    • @Rydecoffeecoach
      @Rydecoffeecoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely right! It shouldn't be a joke. I guess caffeine drinkers forget that a lot of people are unable to tolerate caffeine but still want to enjoy the other qualities of coffee. For so long consumers have equated coffee with caffeine, I hope to raise their awareness that it's only 2-4% and that it's a drink everyone around the world should be able to enjoy. 👌 Thanks for your comment.

    If I feel crappy after coffee decaf or not .Its time to quit.I think the coffee companies were hit hard with coffee being a dug so they had to think fast to make millions and produced decaf.Smart but it’s still a drug.Not buying decaf is ok .A drug is a drug you can’t take the coke out of coccaine.Quit cold turkey.Saved loads of money.

      I understand what you're saying but caffeine is the drug but there's about 2500 other complex compounds in coffee and they aren't drugs. It could be there is another compound that is reacting in your body. Coffee doesn't agree with everyone and you're saving money so that's awesome! 👌

    This bald man is not saying that decaf coffee contains caffeine....may be less but the caffeine is still there

      It does contain caffeine you are right, but I have a white paper that shows exactly how little the trace amount of caffeine exists and it passes every test of being safe for any caffeine sensitive person no matter how badly caffeine affects them. So while it isn't 0% , it's lower than 0.01%

    Dude we're still gonna make fun of decaf even though we drink it every now and then (or more than that) cause life is about making fun of shit even though you support them ;)

    Decaf can taste good but has no kick, which puts me in a bad mood.

      Yes totally agree. It wouldn't be my first choice.for the morning kickstart but as some people can't have caffeine I think it's perfect. 👌

    I rather drink regular coffee

    • @Rydecoffeecoach
      @Rydecoffeecoach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, if you can drink regular coffee, there's no need to consider decaf. For a lot of people, caffeine is too much for their body and so decaf gives them the other benefits of coffee and the comfort of a nice hot drink in the morning (or night). 👌
