- Thanks to your help, I am finally able to finish fixing the collapsed wall in the barn adjoining the cottage - I can now commence renovation on the cottage! A massive help to all those who donated, watched or joined my Patreon , without you this project would carried on getting worse and I wouldn't have been able to fix it in time. I admire your attitude and determination as to keeping with the old walls following the original construction of the building. You are on top of the facts needed to keep to your plan and make necessary adjustments, explaining to us the why's as you work!

You know Sean, the repetitive work is what transforms the task into a work to behold and it's interesting to see how it all ends up. Watching you mend this portion of the wall made me think of the original builders of the cottage and I have to congratulate them.....I could never do it. I can understand why these cottages were so small!

Sean, That was so well constructed. You've really done a good job of explaining it to all of us . I mean I had no idea what you ment when you started this project and now I can really appreciate what you were up against. That wall should last the rest of the life of the building.

Doesnt matter what the thermometer says, if your body says you are too hot, you are too hot! I also struggle in the heat, and have learned, finally, to stop worrying about whether other people find it to be excessive. I just check in with how im doing. Work is looking great!

Quite an achievement Sean, well done to you for persevering and getting the job done, well beyond 5pm no doubt. You'll be able to sleep better now knowing that hole isn't there any more! Now its just that hole in the roof to worry about. Get that covered over as quickly as possible, even temporarily. It will save you lots of extra work in the long run. Great video as always. Impressive beam work. The original looked as though it might be rotten through but clearly solid below the surface. And clever wood bracing with new beams and the stone work. Very interesting going through these earlier vids. Watch out for those slates above flying meanwhile, it'll be a grand job once the roof's done.
On the cameras for builders and a remote, you'd only get cement all over the remote and end up needing a remote for the remote and so on lol.

Looks like you want to show some close ups. I'd recommend getting a gopro, attached to some band on your head. That way you can properly discuss whatever it is you are working on. Editing shouldnt be too hard, just make sure you use some loud clap so it makes a nice audio queue on your timeline.
Look at you all fancy with the copper water bottle :) I don't think your videos are tedious, I admire your craftmanship and explantion. This knowledge is slowly disapearing

This right here shows a lifetime of experience SUPPORTING a damaged structure properly. Rebar IN cinderblocks IN support beams in and RE-supported. It is hard work but totally worth it! Sean this is a job well done you should be proud of your work. :D DIY without the proper safety is knowledge is frankly careless and dangerous, it is nice to see someone who knows the professional safety aspects of a job and doesn't just throw heavy beams into a crumbling slot hole and start building floors. It takes knowledge and professional experience to do the job right. 💪

Sean, watching a masonry wall being restored is always interesting. I can feel your sense of closure when the hole was filled. I just recently filled a hole in my old house wall that had an inappropriately placed window. Finally, after 65+ years, the wall is back to its original condition.
