@@desa35 I don’t buy that. Setting aside the issue of shock… even the *position* of how he was being lifted doesn’t make sense. Imagine we both held onto two ends of a 10-foot pole; I hold on with two hands, but you only hold on with one: => If I lifted my end, would your whole body also lift alongside yours, or would only your *arm* raise with it? Mind you, Sephiroth is keeping his arm tucked inward, instead of outstretched while he’s being raised. He would have to have a MAJOR Death Grip on the hilt of that sword to stay in that position. It would make sense if *he* was the one being stabbed, but he’s just… *holding on to the hilt,* I guess. …and lastly there’s the issue of *weight* and how Sephiroth’s *very thin* sword hasn’t snapped while trying to support him. Cloud may be very strong in this scene, but I doubt that Sephiroth is *weightless.* => If he was, then being thrown into the wall shouldn’t have had that much if an effect… he would’ve flopped against it like a stuffed animal instead of *smashing into it* and making a crater. …and it’s ALL justified… because he was… ‘shocked?’ No. This is a dumb anime scene where Sephiroth is being dumb.
@@Deoxys_Used_Mimic I can't tell you what the writers thought, it's not the most well thought out scene I guess but we're watching Anime dudes fighting each other, the entire setup makes no sense. If you want to get technical this entire scene shouldn't have happened in the first place. Cloud didn't just stab Sephiroth with the Buster Sword, if you look closely that thing completely severed him. His upper body should've either slit off right then and there or at the very least Sephiroth shouldn't be able to move his lower body anymore as nothing is connected to his brain anymore. I wouldn't think to much into it in general and just enjoy it for what it is^^

My God. That Sephiroth battle with Angeal and Genesis always gets me hyped. Iconic.
