Crisis Core will always have a special place in my heart as one of my favorite games. I played it so much back in the day. Very few games make me feel emotional like that one did. Please square just don’t ruin the ending.
My guess is they'll have an "alternative" ending that we can trigger or unlock once we beat the game. I doubt it'll be very long, probably a minute or two, and we'll get the actual answers for what happened in Part 2 of the remake. This way, there are no major changes, but they're still able to loosely weave it into the Remake.

Most of the gameplay changes sound surprisingly great. Controllable camera, storeable limit breaks, and remake style 'punisher mode', all sound like really great additions. I do really hope they add some new cutscene that somehow connects it to Remake/Rebirth though. Maybe not right at the end though, cos you don't wanna mess with that ending.
The original was pretty challenging on hard, especially in the early hours. I remember sweating duing ifrit. I hope it is properly balanced, especially with the ability to cancel the unblockables
Fighting minerva on hard was abusrd..took me some days to beat her x.x Although it became easier to do when i learned her patterns and stuff for when mugged her pheonix downs for my curaga and full cure skills
The new additions look nice, but i really hope the original theme song is in the game. It added so much to the emotional punch of the original. Edit update. The song is indeed in the game!
I'm happy that they didn't bring over the "stagger" system from the Remake. Too many bosses were balanced around it, and it became annoying when they would "change phases" as soon as you stagger them.
I'm tempted to get this on PC only because I know someone will mod in Zack and Sephiroth's original voices which for me will drastically improve this remaster.
I don't have pc but even I'd hold out just for that when I do get one. Only thing is they added voice dialogue in scenes where there were none. So we'd be missing out on that I guess.
Even though I had a PSP, I had it during a time where I couldn't buy video games as freely, so I sadly did miss out on the original "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII" release. I was very excited when this remaster was announced, as I now get to see why this game is highly regarded while also enjoying new visuals and quality of life improvements. I look forward to picking this up when it releases.

This game would have been x1000 times better if they had just ported over the old dialog instead of trash new voice actors. They killed it for me. No way I'm dropping $50 on this now lmao

The Roulette system was ok for limit breaks and summons, but for leveling it was a massive pain ("get 777 to level up", you'd have better luck doing that at the slot machines in Atlantic City)
So incredibly excited for the remakester. Loved the original, Might be my favorite part of FFVII (excluding remake, haven't played yet). The new combat looks super smooth, very curious to hear the soundtrack because the original OST was already super good.
it will be interesting to see people's reaction that only play ff7 remake and crisis core reunion to see nibelheim backstory in ff7 rebirth. they willl be confused like where's zack in that story
FF7 Remake isn't a reimagining but a sequel to the original. The "Remake" aspect of the title is a description of the intentions of Sephiroth to remake the previous timeline where he loses.
I feel a lot of people going into this may not realise that its a prequel to the OG game and not the Remake, so if they haven't played it, things will be referenced they wont know. Its still a great game and stands on its own. But still, people should prob realise that.

Looks like they're putting some decent effort into this one, unlike Chrono Cross which looked amazing running up to release, but was not only disappointing but to my knowledge i don't think they've updated it since...
Cant wait to watch this ending again in full HD to make me emotional again. Like for real the original ending was so good it made me tear up after playing as Zack for the entire game and all side content. The soundtrack is so good in the original I will definitely miss that. I mean that was along time ago and I bought a PSP just to play it but damn it was good. If they just ported this old PSP game to PC, people would hate it as it was made to be played on a tiny screen.

That new soundtrack better be good for it to be mandatory. Makes me nervous because I thought the rearranged FFX HD OST was not as good as the original, but at least you could switch that depending on the version you had.
2:35 I think in part, they decided on this, remastering CC right now, as FFVII merchandise is in its height of interest right now, so sales would do better for a remastered version of Crisis Core while everyone waits for FFVII Remake Part 2, compared to any other time the would have wanted to re-release CC. Mainly though, I believe they did this, so newer fans can get to know Zack, and not be as confused when his story elements are introduced into the next FFVII: Remake sequel portion though, so it was a good choice on SE's part, at the moment to reintroduce Crisis Core to a new FFVII player base.
Loved this! One minor thing I disagree with though is FF7R being a reimagining. It's easy to think that, but really it's more of a sequel that happens both after and alongside the original FF7 chronologically. The title "Remake" refers to character intentions, not what the game is. It's definitely a sequel in the story.
Edit: My bad, just saw the FF7 Rebirth trailer. We have very different definitions of “sequel”. Also a prequel is a story happens chronology before the main/original content.

It's my personal believe that there's gonna be a special 100% ending sequence that will incorporate the changed ending from Final Fantasy VII Remake where *spoiler spoiler spoiler*. ;-) Otherwise, I think the story content will stay the same as it was in the original PSP-Release.
*WARNING THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS TO THE END OF FF7R* I have to wonder if Aerith's vision at the end of the remake of Zach surviving the ambush will be reflected with this game - essentially two different endings where should you make it a set time or length of enemies killed Zach survives while should the player die, the regular ending plays out.
Square said they recast the FF7 cast for the remake because the original VA's voiced the characters all AFTER the main game such as advent children picking up a year or two after the original FF7 ending. The change was made to make the characters seem younger, as they would of been younger than in the origonal game. This is why characters like Cloud were recast. The only issue is that throughout the remake and the original FF7 Crisis Core, Zack is the same age each time Gomez voiced hime, so there was no reason to recast Rick Gomez because he would of been the same age. I hate picking on his new VA but either he wasn't given proper direction or just isn't fit for the role. Gomez said Square didn't even ask him to reprise the role. The same logic applies to Sephiroth and don't even get me started on Sephiroth...he sounded threatening and menacing to whatever he was in remake. He is the epitomy of the meme "Mom I want a Thomas train" "We at Thomas home" *Thomas looking like some cheap Chinese rip off*

I tried to 100% the original but the gameplay felt so repetitive that honestly I lost interest, so I'm very happy about the changes they made, and of course, it looks beautiful
Turning off the dmv in the original by using curse status on yourself helps speed things up immensely, and hugging the walls helps skip a looot of encounters

Considering that ALL of the cutscenes in this are the original PSP cutscenes, it would look VERY out of place to include a different ending with modern graphics when the entire rest of the game doesn't look like that so I don't think so. Also, they have said a few times now that there is nothing new or changed story wise, this is a remaster of the OG game.
About the no story change and how it has no contradiction to the Re Trilogy. I'm starting to suspect if every cutscenes we saw about Zack in Remake isn't real, as if it all actually happened in the Life Stream.
I think it's more that this is just a remaster and not related to the Remake trilogy other than Rebirth may reference certain scenes from this game maybe.

I really do not understand why square changed voice actors. Not only for the english version but the German as well. Clouds voice was beautiful as well as Rufus and Vincent......now Rufus sounds like spongebob.
not gonna lie. I stopped playing the ff7 remake the moment I hear sephiroths new VA. it didn't match with his character and I hated it too much to keep playing.
I will always prefer George Newbern's voice, but let's see how Tyler Hoechlin portrays Sephiroth in Crisis Core Reunion. I'd love to give him another chance!

The main issue with Minerva was her judgement arrows dispelling all your non-permanent buffs before dealing damage. You needed auto-wall + max spirit and Vit to survive. Then you could just Phoenix down your way through her Ultima/flare casts in her final 25%
Yeah I have a feeling I know exactly what they're going to do. They're going to have Crisis Core go as was BUT suddenly at the end it's going to be the FF7 Remake ending that Zack lives and is on his way back to Midgar bet ya :)
Literally everything on the list is pretty much the same as it was for Nier Replicant, right down to not being able to choose the original OST mix (which really vexed me there too), which means despite the marketing surrounding both I'm just going to be calling them remasters anyway.
I'll skip this one, for the new voice killed Zack's personality to me... No more enthusiastic strong voiced Zack... the new voice, while managed to copy the tone and articulation like 80% at most, failed to deliver the same energy and 'Umph' to Zack's character... Now after watching some YT gamers that had been granted early access to the game, so much disappointment proves my point just too well... Not to mention the hair gloss...

You would get it once you reached a level cap so it wasn't random at all

I have the copy of the game already - the ending WILL NOT change. but there IS a new scene that plays out to piece together what happens in Final Fantasy VII: Remake involving Zack.
There is not a new scene, the story stays true to the original.
Which means no additional scene at the end.

Just finished playing this game and it took me 18 hrs and I finished with Zack at lvl 42? I just started my second run on Hard this time.
Im still confused. Does Reunion add anything new to the story? Or is it the same OG Crisis Core ?

I tried to 100% the original but the gameplay felt so repetitive that honestly I lost interest, so I'm very happy about the changes they made, and of course, it looks beautiful
Turning off the dmv in the original by using curse status on yourself helps speed things up immensely, and hugging the walls helps skip a looot of encounters
@@andreimaxwell4455 yeah...until you need to get all the various DMW flashbacks/scenes and see every limit break at least once....gets annoying once the hunt for the Genji gear starts to prep for Minerva (hope its a bit easier to survive those dang Judgement Arrow casts now that we can weaken enemy limit breaks, if not outright stop them)
Will we get a alternate ending if we are overpowered and tank all the soldiers? That would be EPIC. :D
Does this game have chapter selection like in FF7R? It would be nice not to worry about missable collectibles.
have you ever thought that maybe neither game NEEDED a remake? all that does is alter if not RUIN the emotional anchor of those original stories for EVERYONE who those stories were important to... the same reason people HATED when george lucas made his "new" versions of the old star wars films? how would you like it if they change Locke's story with Rachel?! i could go on and on, but i know it wont matter... they need money, you need to shill for them, and those who really werent there and are to lazy to play the originals are only willing to play the shitty "modern" versions of these games, you know, newer versions that will be completely altered in tone, character, art, and gameplay from the originals... so if they are that different, how can they be called the same game? they cant, this is simply laziness and fear... companies are too afraid to try new things outta fear of pissing off the twitter mobs and even worse games journalists, so all we get now are half assed remakes or games they can "monetize" the hell out of... i bought dragon quest 11 and adored every minute of it... its the best game squeenix has put out in years... but based on their actions lately, it'll probably be the last one i buy from them... emulation is too easy to support shit companies who continue to do things i despise... and before you ask, YES, i think its fucked up they keep shrinking Tifa's breast size... not because it matters to me, but because it SHOULD matter to THEM... its their artistic creations, that made them what they are, and the fact that they are so willing to say, "fuck it, there's a new *modern* audience we have to appeal to and ignore EVERYTHING that made us special in the first place" shows me there isnt going to be ANYTHING special coming out of them anytime soon... at least not enough for me to PAY TO SUPPORT... but you shill's keep on going... im sure in ten years when square makes horrid phone games or battle royales you'll be happy...
I'm calling it. We're not getting the same ending from OG Crisis Core, we're getting a new one that ties in to the remake.
And Nomura already confirmed ages ago that the ending for Crisis core REunion is not going to change.
The ending is staying true to the original.
Considering that ALL of the cutscenes in this are the original PSP cutscenes, it would look VERY out of place to include a different ending with modern graphics when the entire rest of the game doesn't look like that so I don't think so. Also, they have said a few times now that there is nothing new or changed story wise, this is a remaster of the OG game.
The ending will be the same, and Nomura said that this ending will not have no contradiction with "Re" trilogy.

@@Yusei255 a post credits scene is fine, but a different ending would definitely have looked out of place quality wise.
About the no story change and how it has no contradiction to the Re Trilogy. I'm starting to suspect if every cutscenes we saw about Zack in Remake isn't real, as if it all actually happened in the Life Stream.
I think it's more that this is just a remaster and not related to the Remake trilogy other than Rebirth may reference certain scenes from this game maybe.

From what we know, it has the same lines, but with the new voice actors, and all the text is voiced as well.

@@AncientCityMusic This is not true at all. The percentage of people that get pissy about spending 3 measly minutes of their life watching a video intro is pretty small in comparison to the normal people that understand that 3 minutes is not a long time by any stretch of the imagination.
I really do not understand why square changed voice actors. Not only for the english version but the German as well. Clouds voice was beautiful as well as Rufus and Vincent......now Rufus sounds like spongebob.
Almost sounds like a completely new game other than story and some gameplay features, should be interesting!

not gonna lie. I stopped playing the ff7 remake the moment I hear sephiroths new VA. it didn't match with his character and I hated it too much to keep playing.
I will always prefer George Newbern's voice, but let's see how Tyler Hoechlin portrays Sephiroth in Crisis Core Reunion. I'd love to give him another chance!

So I suppose it's easier to fight Minerva now, since you can now store limit breaks
The main issue with Minerva was her judgement arrows dispelling all your non-permanent buffs before dealing damage. You needed auto-wall + max spirit and Vit to survive. Then you could just Phoenix down your way through her Ultima/flare casts in her final 25%
When I was playing the game I just use the materia that reduces damage to 1 point, then just spam 9999 damage

I wasn't able to 100% this game because my PSP broke due to screen fracture. Now I'm gonna replay this on my PS5 on a wayyyy better screen.
Literally everything on the list is pretty much the same as it was for Nier Replicant, right down to not being able to choose the original OST mix (which really vexed me there too), which means despite the marketing surrounding both I'm just going to be calling them remasters anyway.
I'll skip this one, for the new voice killed Zack's personality to me... No more enthusiastic strong voiced Zack... the new voice, while managed to copy the tone and articulation like 80% at most, failed to deliver the same energy and 'Umph' to Zack's character... Now after watching some YT gamers that had been granted early access to the game, so much disappointment proves my point just too well... Not to mention the hair gloss...
