Dude this was a GREAT video. Thanks a ton for taking the time to make this. I know it takes a lot of time, thought, and money to make videos like these. Tyvm!
Great vid man. CAT’s cans 100% back the hype as well as the pewscience data. I did a short video on my channel showing the CGS SCI SIX, CAT WB and CAT ODB on my 12.5 mid gas with Sprinco Blue spring, H3 buffer and riflespeed adjustable gas block to see the required setting for lockback. Unsuppressed was setting 10. ODB was setting 9, WB was setting 7 and the SCI SIX was setting 4. The WB is definitely my preference on 5.56. It had a more pleasant deeper tone, and has no perceived FRP While I could hear a bit with the ODB.
Thanks, bro. I watched your video the other day. Yeah, there's definitely a FRP with the ODB on 5.56. I really want a 718 hub WB as well. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate hearing from someone that owns both that you prefer the WB on 5.56.
Excellent overview CS! This definitely will help folks make decisions about which can is right now them. P.S.: We're hoping to get some more ODB 718s soon :)
Thank you! Love that you guys checked my channel out. I found a 718 a few weeks ago at a shop in GA and got it shipped up to my SOT (through my SS account of course). Picking up today!
Great information. I'm very curious if the new PTR cans also live up to the hype. I'm still running old school high back pressure cans, and definitely need a new 556 can. Thanks for the video, I think the Cat is high on my list
Thanks! If I was just getting it for 5.56, or just getting one, I'd probably get the inconel version of this. The cool down time would be annoying at the range in the summer time I think. I have a 718 hub version on the way right now! Yeah, that PTR looks amazing as well.
@@ConcealedSteel I just got a Scythe TI and have only run 300blk subs through it so far. I'm curious about how quick it will heat and cool with supers. It's my first titanium can, but I really wanted it for subs. 556 and I'll definitely get inconel or something that can take at least 6 mags quickly. I do hate muzzle weight though. I'm running an old SiCo SpecWar K 556. Sounds great and is super tough, but it's gassy.
I can onlyt have 1 can for the next year or so. Primarry would be 7" 300blk MCX and some use on .308. Woud you get the CAT ODB? I would get a full length 308 can latter on.
Will do, bro. That's the plan since that's exactly the type of videos that I'm always looking for! I have a couple to reupload that I made a year or so ago, that YT took down when we weren't allowed to attach silencers to guns in videos, lol.
@@ConcealedSteel from your experience what would you recommend for a 6mm bolt action rifle. Hydrogen L raptor 10 with the reflex ocl polonium cat jl/obd or resilient jolene full size
@sethperry1323 I'm going to be no help here, lol. I don't have a 6mm. For me, I'd probably approach that choice thinking about versatility, or, what else would I use that silencer on. If it's only for a bolt gun that I intend to hunt with I'm probably getting the CAT ODB in titanium. The Hydrogen L, JL, AB10, Nomad L, DD Enticer LTI, etc, are longer than I want to deal with on an already long rifle while hunting. Also, If I'm in a scenario where I only shoot at public ranges, I'd also go shorter/lighter, because you'll never hear it without hearing protection anyway. Best answer is to check out prescience rankings.
@@sethperry1323in theory, for a bolt gun, low back pressure cans are a waste for you. Go caliber specific, and find the tipping point for length/performance. Low back pressure = louder at the muzzle. You will get performance from a standard type can on a bolt gun.
Haha, I couldn't agree more! While we BS-ing...I actually found the inconel hub version of this suppressor in stock two days ago. I will 100% be in trouble when she sees the credit card bill, but it's ok.
I can’t imagine only being able to fire 10 rounds fast and having to let it cool for 5 mins…. Will it damage it to keep shooting past 10 rounds fast? I run the hell out of my rc2 waaaay more than that.
Supposedly the titanium versions will erode pretty quickly if you get them above 650 deg F. Yeah, I certainly wouldn't recommend getting the titanium version of the ODB for general 5.56 SBR use. I do keep it on this gun at home for the unthinkable. IMO, this can shines the most on a gun that you'd hunt with, or a 300 blackout for subs. The reason that I put it to the test on an 11.5 was purely for science.
Thanks Dude. We appreciate these honest reviews, where you talk about a ton of other models. Keep it up.
Thanks for watching! I finally found a 718 hub version in stock and I'm pumped to get my hands on it. I have a short 7.62 Galil that's begging for it.
I have PWS MK109 with adjustable gas block. Will the ODB be a good fit?
@mikeplatt9949 It's my favorite silencer for any semi auto. It would be outstanding on there.

Got an ODB for my 21st birthday and now expecting an 11.5 upper from Cobalt Kinetics. I love my ODB even for my 5.56 guns. Thank you for your review.
Nice, congrats!
Always good to see a young man with his stuff together… congratulations

Just bought a 718 WB HUB but def am waiting to also grab a 718 ODB Hub when SS gets them back in stock
Nice, I'll bet that wb is the bomb.. I need one of those as well. I picked up my 718 ODB hub this past week.
Good info on the ODB compared to others. The price is a challenge.
It is expensive. I firmly believe in buying once and crying once!
Excellent review! Very thorough and informative!
Glad to help.
I subscribed looking forward to seeing more thanks

I would 100% get the ODB. That's my #1 recommendation if you don't need anything bigger than 30 cal.
Just received my cat wb ti the hype is real
I want a WB.
@ConcealedSteel highly recommend

What are your thoughts on the CAT vs Velos and Ventum? In 7.62 and 5.56? Looking at these 3 new style cans. Got a new sub also!
Thanks! Sorry, haven't shot the ventum or velos yet.
Which HUB mount is on the ODB - company and model? Thanks
It's a plan B compatible/rearden compatible taper mount, full titanium, made by SD Tactical Arms.
Let’s see some more can videos please
Will do. Any requests?
This dude called me poor in 16 different suppressors
No no no, I do not mean to flex, Sir! 🤣
Is it even less gas than the hux tho, or do u mean for the sound it has the least gas
I get no gas with either.

Appreciate it!
Is that long boy to the left a ocl hydrogen L?

I really don't think that you'll cause noticeable damage under normal use unless you're really pushing your round count.

It sure is!
Do you need an adjustable gas block when using the Q TrashPanda? I have a 10" barrel and I dont know if it requires one or fixed GB.
You can definitely get away without an adjustable gas block with the trash panda. It's pretty low back pressure.
