This feedback has definitely been mentioned a few times and is noted for future videos! I thought it would be helpful to hear how loud the steel is compared to hitting the dirt / weapon report in lieu of “accurate audio recording” but have a new idea for next video :)
The MOB sounds quieter than the Wolfman on my Banshee. However, on my lever action, the Wolfman seems quieter (even without wipe). Of course, the weight difference is too much to ignore on the longer .357 Henry. I would even say the Wolfman in short config with a wipe is quieter than the MOB on the Henry.
@AimAllies tbf, I meant using .38spl subsonic out of the lever gun. I think the traditional baffles of the Wolfman (and it's volume) may give it a slight advantage on a closed action, whereas the MOB is superior on a blowback/radial/delayed action. Also, I noticed no first round pop on the MOB, but the wolf does have a slight frp. Haven't had a chance to compare them on .300blk subs yet, but once I get plan b adaptors for them, will compare these two and a Thunder Chicken on a Mini Fix and a Honey Badger.
The Wolfman is bomb proof and the versatility over multiple calibers and full auto rated is why it gets my vote. The CAT only really beats it in weight.
@@quadlife7207 the flow characteristics are definitely not to be underrated on the MOB. It is notably quieter. Agreed on the versatility of the wolfman and I did not give that enough appreciation in the video
Not too crazy about K cans personally. I ran my Rugged Obsidian in K configuration for a few rounds and immediately put the end module back on it was so loud to me…
CAT has knocked it out of the park. One note, the MOB doesn’t use Surge Bypass, it uses their Di-Verge technology. Iove my 718 WB and my Ti ODB. Getting RC2 or better muzzle suppression while getting Velos levels of backpressure reduction is awesome. I tested them and my CGS SCI SIX on my 12.5 midgas with H3 buffer, Sprinco blue spring and riflespeed adjustable gas block to see where I get lock back. Unsuppressed is setting 10, SCI SIX is setting 4, WB is setting 7 and ODB is setting 9. And the ODB is phenomenal on my 8in 300blk. Though I did have to drill out my gas port on it to cycle subs because it has such a high flow rate. The MOB Will be my next can which I’m going to build out a CMMG Radial delayed blowback banshee for.
I did clarify that in the caption, my fault for not double checking on the MOB. I tried out the Mob on a CMMG upper kit and it was extremely quiet, much quieter than my APC9k! Very cool setup. I just test fired my personal 718 WB, very excited about this company !
I have the mobster as well. I don’t even have a pcc yet 😆, with that pew science data blowing all the other 9mm cans away I had to get one. What would you recommend for a host? Thanks
Something roller delayed (MP5) or radial delayed (CMMG see my latest short) for maximum quiet. I love the apc9k for practically but it’s pretty loud in comparison due to the port pop.
@@AimAllies I’d like to get the sig Mpx k, but I’d have to get a ilwt barrel. I’d rather do that than use an adapter with the factory barrel due to the thread pattern. I’ve heard the sig doesn’t like aftermarket stuff and opens groups up pretty wide which makes me nervous. I’m looking at the Cmmg dissent too. Can’t decide which one to get..
@@corruption2.066 MPX's are louder than the suggested alternatives since the gas system vents right above the chamber. Something to keep in mind if you want to make the most out of your Mob
Dude, it’s damn near vertical and the ATF still has the definition of what is a pistol on their side if they ever wanted to push the issue. They’re not the type of people to hold up a protractor and go “whelp shucks fellas looks like it’s angled by 2 degrees, guess we’ll go kick rocks”. I wouldn’t have even commented if it wasn’t for that little disclaimer. Put a stock on it, idc, just don’t make claims that something legit when you have no idea and get some poor guy visited by the fed boys.
Can't believe there's not more videos on the MOB. This thing is unbelievable
gas flow patterns are insane for how quiet it is!
Great work, both of those setups sound awesome! Love to see another lefty getting after it on the range!

Enjoyed the WB as well in a newer video! Thanks for checking out the channel Chase!!
Thanks for the info on the CAT Mob! I do wonder why you even bother shooting steel in a video about silencers, seems pointless.

I believe their low back pressure design is different than what they refer to as surge bypass on their other cans.

I wonder if you’ll have the same result if you use a roller delay instead of a radial or straight blowback…

CAT makes dedicated suppressors.
I prefer dedicated systems. Reduces variables
in what way is the wolfman "full auto rated" where the CAT can is not? The CAT MOB can be run full-auto too, so I don't understand what you're saying
@@rondobrondohe’s making a jump across the Grand Canyon that the CAT mobster will not hold up which is not the case.
I love to see the difference if you add the wipe to the Wolfman
In practice the wipe only seems to last ~10 shots but I should test that out!

Wait till you try out the WB. It sounds like a full sized can. I haven’t tried a 9mm k can that is nearly as quiet as full sized yet though.
