    First of all , thanks for evaluating this ammo . I was considering buying this same ammunition 'cause I like the 165gr loads for the .40S&W . I don't know what happened here . I think you're right that it was the denim that clogged the hollow point and prevented it from expanding . Otherwise , the only thing I can imagine is that maybe the jacket is too thick , or there's not enough velocity .Either way , like you , this round is not on my list anymore . Thanks for the video !

    *Been looking for someone to do a review of the 135gr 40S&W.*
    *It has more energy, than a .357 SIG Federal HST.*
    *Should be wicked.*

      I haven’t looked at that one yet but it sounds good. I’m having trouble getting much in the way of ammo right now so I’m kind of working through what I already had on hand.

      I carry 135gr Cor-Bon in my Glock 23. 1300 fps. It's like 40 S&W Magnum. Recoil isn't bad at all. There is a TH-cam video on someone testing it out of a Glock 27 into gel several years ago. Buffalo Bore makes a 140gr 1300 fps with their info showing 1,172 fps -- Glock Model 23, 4-inch barrel.

      @@nederlander9321 The Buffalo Bore load is a Barnes solid copper JHP, so run a little slower due to the copper bullet and pressure considerations. IIRC Buffalo Bore chrono'd their loads out of 5" barreled pistols.

    Ordered 60$ of ammo from Corbon last year never received my order and they refuse to give me the ammo I paid for nor my money back ... I wouldn't do business with Corbon ...

      I had the same issue with my order about 3 years ago, months later and numerous calls and emails about the status of my order they never returned my call, thankfully my charge card wasn't charged, 1 year after that I got an email that my order was going to be filled ... I promptly responded, forget it ..

    How many layers of denim?
    IMHO that's your issue. Remember the FBI and IWBA test protocols are different, with the FBI being a bit more realistic.

      Four layers. Usually just a pair of jeans placed over the end with the legs stacked on top of each other. I think I’m going to start doing a cloth and non-cloth shot for each load to compare the performance.

      @@glization1 Ok cool. So IWBA instead of FBI, which is where your issue lies. 4 layers of denim is designed to be the toughest test protocol for any handgun JHP, which naturally results in the vast majority of loads/bullets failing to expand at all. Try your above suggestion and the FBI test protocol for clothed gel, you'll have more realistic results.

      A t-shirt & sweater would be more realistic, that's what most criminals wear.

    Just found a box of Cor Bon 10mm 165gr claims 1250 FPS and 537ft lbs on box so that’s pretty stout if those numbers are real, that may explain the lack of expansion from the 40 sw with same projectile

    • @glization1
      @glization1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are pretty impressive numbers and it could explain what’s going on if their using bullets designed to work at 10mm velocity in the 40

      @@glization1 I’m a fan of the 10mm have not tried the Cor Bon so not sure if it will live up to the billing. I like the Hornaday custom XTP 155 gr as far as commercial self defense rds go it is pretty hot , 650 plus ft lbs and great consistent expansion

      @glization1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@googlechicken I haven’t shot much 10mm but the reading I’ve done looks pretty good and hornady tends to be good stuff.

    Did you delete the rest of your gun videos?

    • @glization1
      @glization1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did a while ago when TH-cam started getting unfriendly towards gun content, but I’ve recently decided to put a bunch of them back up.

    4 Layers of Denim? You would have to time travel back to the 1980's to find criminals who wear that much denim.

    • @jesseb8015
      @jesseb8015 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps a Canadian criminal? I understand denim is quite popular up there. If you check out some of my newer videos I’ve since changed the testing protocol.

    • @glization1
      @glization1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s four layers, but to be fair it is off an old pair of carhart work pants so it’s likely thicker than normal
