    Dear Corbon. Make these available in 50 rd boxes if you want me to buy. I no longer play the 20 rd game. We all know the cost is in the packaging. 50 round boxes lower the cost of ammo to us, and increases sales to you.

      Learn Defense Industries LLC Defiant munitions is a completely different company and they do not use the same manufacture of copper, Corbon was bought out and now they are pure shit.

      @@irishsavage8715 I didn't know they were in different hands now. I guess I'll have to make do with my roughly 38 rounds of 20 to 25-year-old Corbon JHP. Or else buy something from Federal or Winchester.

    This is a very good round, causing catastrophic damage. I have it on my XD40 with mag of 135gr Fed Prem Hydroshock. It'll be a win win for when the time comes. lol.

    Why'd the new owners have to fuck it up instead of leaving it alone

    • @learndefenseindustriesllc7878
      @learndefenseindustriesllc7878  ปีที่แล้ว

      My guess is they didn't know about the new design. When I spoke to the new owners about the other style of DPX they had no clue what I was talking about. If you look at defiant munitions they run the other style. I guess Pete took it with him. That is just my guess.

    Since Corbon is long gone, and the new owners still seem to have no idea what they are doing between loading projectiles from other manufacturers and trying to develop their own (and not publicly advertising anything -no telling what you’ll get if you order) ....I’d like to see some of the other solid copper rounds available.
    Buffalo Barnes would be a top choice, the new SuperVel ammo (which had Peter Pi Sr. assist during their first few months in development) who now have 9mm, 10mm and 45 available in their designed ammo.
    Those 2 loads would both be worth some videos I think. Especially since no one has really done them yet. Add some of the barriers like auto glass, and useable information will be obtained 🤓
    Gorilla ammo is another one, but it has very minimal amateur testing, absolutely no industry standard testing, and it didn’t perform well in your test. You must also consider that ClearBallistics gel always shows 2-6 MORE inches of penetration than real gel. If something penetrates clear gel poorly, it will likely fail miserably in the medium for which the 12-18 inch range is based.

    • @learndefenseindustriesllc7878
      @learndefenseindustriesllc7878  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the in depth comment! If your looking for an all copper projectile I would suggest the Mid Am. They are an up and coming and seem grasp the concept that skinny petals on the projectile help with penetration. I have the 124 grn 9mm test on the channel.
      I would like to see the SuperVel. But the biggest problem with Buffalo bore is cost. They make good product but cant find a good way to bring ammo to the market without charge an arm and leg.
      Thanks again for sharing!

      Learn Defense Industries LLC Thanks. Until these small companies actually put their mouth where their marketing is, and subject their products to industry standard testing, I’d recommend avoiding them for serious use. Use of clear gel instead of true gel, lack of multiple shots from multiple batches through multiple barriers, lack of a precise comparison in a controlled environment, lack of industry experts to oversee the protocol, and questionable QC, leave almost no credibility in any of these little companies. Not to mention details like they don’t seal their primers or case mouths like most mainstream duty loads do. I mean Super Vel has videos of their “testing” which included one shot into a bare clear ballistics block and then shooting pieces of fruit...and they are $40 a box...ummmm. Until then....Gold Dot, HST, Ranger and Critical Duty.

      Actually I think he's creeping them out. Shooting in a residential area without a backstop with projectiles flying out of the gel block and into the yard. I mean, who wouldn't want a neighbor like that ? I finally had to shut down the yahoo's next to me having all their relatives and friends over 3 to 4 days a week doing hours of unaimed 30 round mag dumps into a pile of dirt with rocks along the top 150 ft from my front door. I'm all about shooting, I'm also all about safety and consideration.

    Hello again, this very closely resembles the original Barnes Tac XP bullet that corbon used, do you know if it is?

    • @learndefenseindustriesllc7878
      @learndefenseindustriesllc7878  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Rebecca I have done a side by side with the two bullets. There does seem to be a slight difference between the 2. I'm not sure if that has more to do with what Barnes makes for Corbon or if Corbon makes a slightly different Tac XP. I would be more inclined to go with the later. I do know that Corbon is going to be coming out with some newer models of the DPX and cant wait to get my hands on those to test.

    • @Mockturtlesoup1
      @Mockturtlesoup1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to go to the "shop corbon" website if you want to buy ammo from them. I learned this about 3 or 4 years ago, but haven't checked if you can get there from the main site since(or perhaps you're referring to something else?)
      Regardless, obviously they have very little supply at the moment(though they've always seemed to have very little supply on their own website, I've always used ammoseek to find what I want) but I did just buy a couple boxes of 125gr 9mm+p last week.

      @inspector Callahan true. I only learned about it(at least for the first time) through James yeager back in the day. I feel like there was a lot of business aspects the could have been improved by corbon. Perhaps the new owners will do better, but so far it seems no different. Then again, I don't exactly follow this kind of stuff. It almost felt like corbon was almost more of a hobby/side business for Pete Pi, as I know he was also a police officer. They also seemed to always be sold out of everything on their website(though ammoseek always remedied that), and even after like 20+ years I believe, their JHPs/PowR'Ball still isn't a bonded round, and doesn't have the industry standard nickel plated cases. Not that I really give a shit about nickel played cases, but when you're charging like $1.50 a round for ammo that's not even bonded, you expect the little things like this. Which sucks, because if they were bonded, I'd likely choose the PowR'Ball over the DPX, as the velocities(out of a 4 inch barrel no less) are higher than pretty much everyone else, without going into +p+ territory.
