The Midnight is wildly talented, true to the genre (might argue they are driving the genre), and consistently produces hits. At this point they've really transcended ''the genre'' to speak of. It will always be synthwave and wherever they take it to will also be synthwave. Bands like this are definitive to the genre so purists and genre enthusiasts' opinions don't really matter at the end of the day.
I'm so baffled how small The Midnight is, like this guy is legit one of the few people I've ever listened to that legit have no bad songs. Although I know it is selfish I am kind of glad that The Midnight is not huge yet because it feels like I've found a hidden gem and I kind of like that feeling. Overall though I do hope he grows much bigger because it is what he deserves

I just found this band accidentally while looking for a song called midnight I need to learn for my band. I have been obsessed since I started listening to the albums one by one. These songs are instantly recognizable to me even though I am hearing them for the first time. As a teenager of the 80s, I feel like they connect with me so deep I can’t explain it. All those feelings come back and a way of life that felt like it would never end. The video game arcades and all the neon, the skating rinks, my friends and all the weekend adventures., my saxophone and high school marching band. IThankyou for allowing me to relive it even for a short while.
Whatever happened in my life in the past 1,5 years, The Midnight was there, lost so much, it's like The Midnight knew and deliberately released some tracks at the right moment. Thank you The Midnight, my only repeat music in my playlist
well, 3 days ago we had our prom. Listening to this song, i felt hope and thought it would be fun. It wasn't in the slightest. It was so boring that i spent the rest of the night looking at the sea in front of the place. Of course this song started to play in my earphones while doing that. I gave myself a little push about dancing, and no, it was still boring. I returned to my old spot to watch the sea again. Friends came occasionally to check on me, some invited me to dance but i was having none of it. Came home exhausted and having a slight headache because of the loud and obnoxious music. I don't normally go to my prom/graduation ceremony stuff, but i still thank The Midnight for opening my mind for new things. Top tier music.

I remember seeing them at their first show in SF with my ex. We were the firsts in line to get into The DNA Lounge. The duo walked up to us (I had no idea what they looked like) and they asked us "Who are you guys here to see?" and casually I said, "The Midnight." They walk away towards the others in line. It was only until later that I realized it was them! I felt like a total ding dong haha! but I'm glad to see their following grow! We need more feel good, nostalgic, wavy retro jamz :P Thanks guys!
