Not to exaggerate but this band is probably the best out there, I've never seen a band/artists where literally each song they produce is pure gold. They always take me to places and I can't explain how much their music changed my life
As someone who loves his brutal deathcore, stuff like defamed, slaughter to prevail, SPITE, I can say the 80s pop sound will always reign supreme and this shit right has those deep 80s vibes and I fucking love it!! This is the first song I heard by you guys and now it looks like I'm gonna go down this musical rabbit hole lol.
The sweet music of the 80s. A handful of Duran Duran, a sprinkle of Phil Collins, a pinch of Survivor and two beans of Tears for Fears. Simply wowwww. I can't stop listening to it !! You are great
My favorite part is when he says “ I’ve never felt my heart like this, she said I’ve never felt my body” something about those lyrics and how the song slows down to slow build to the saxophone is just awesome to me
This is quite great. Always great to hear Tyler with some new vocals. This surprised me, I would have thought Seventeen or Monsters would have been their next "single" release, as they have performed both at their shows. Can't wait for the full album. With Deep Blue, Seventeen, Monsters, and Brooklyn all on it, it's going to be one of their best album releases.
"This will make a fine addition to my collection." I first heard The Midnight on the New Retro Wave Channel when they posted the Endless Summer Album... ever since then I've found it hard to not have almost all The Midnight's music in my daily rotation. Earlier this year I was told by spotify I was one of their biggest fans. Love the music and thank you for being one of the best things to still have in 2020.
My boyfriend and I were really feeling the beat. We went crazy when the sax came in after the fade out. I honestly thought we were going to have an EDM-like beat drop but the sax man the sax...
Me: Okay, this is the best song The Midnight will ever have. It can't get any better. The Midnight: *releases a new track* Me: Okay, this is the best song The Midnight will ever have. It can't get any better.
I love how they can't miss. Solid progression and that vintage style that makes them so solid. I can tell you their execution is priceless and if they continue to pump out music at this rate, they will only become more enshrined as the greatest retro wave ever. Consistent and smooth. They put on a great live show, but nothing surpasses constant material that is everlasting and so moving. A!
This is like a mix of all my favourite The Midnight songs. Hint's of The Years, Collateral, River of Darkness and so many more. It's perfect guys. If the rest of the album is this level, we are in for such a treat.
They definitely had a few more trance leaning tracks on their first release, Kick Drums and Red Wine got play by Armin van Buren multiple times. Good to see them pull influences from all their previous albums for this one!
I lived through the 80's...1980 through 1999. These guys have truly captured the sound of the 80's with this track. I could relive that whole decade in just this one song. The part where the sax comes on makes me laugh every time...it couldn't be anymore spot on than this.
You pick a booth in the farthest reaches of the bar, not for its location, but because above it the light has gone out, and there you can brood in silence and the darkness of a blue haze. The electricity of the sounds around you rises to a fever pitch, a drop comes soon, bodies writhe, anticipating the energy, absorbing it, letting it all go. You see it. But you don’t feel it. You don’t remember when you did. You wonder for a moment why you’re here. Your eyes return to the glass in front of you and you remember. You drink and hold it in your mouth: this burn is all that’s left. You slide your fingers on the condensation and glance up. In a moment you’ll remember into the long length of your days, a low light flickers on at the far end of the bar, long enough to illuminate a figure. And while the energy of the dancers is at maximum, for a moment it seems as if they exist only to feed the power of her stare, strengthened, and focused, called into relief by the blue light. The stare, you discover with wide eyes, is at you. It can’t be, of course. But it is. It is. The light goes off and she is gone. The music crashes in the dark, a sea of purple waves. You’d be unable to say why, now, but you find yourself rising. Against what your mind is telling you about life and what matters and where you’ve been and what everything comes to at last, you enter the blackness anyway. Behind you, the glass sits alone on the table. Inside it, the ice melts. You reach the end of the bar and all of your suspicions are confirmed: there is no girl in the blue light, she was not looking at you, there was no *something*, you hopeless fool, least of all a new chance. But the music watches you, hears your thoughts, and changes now, slows down, pulses with a sudden anticipation. There is a touch at your shoulder. You turn-a mistake for the ages, your life’s single most beautiful error-and you notice in confusion that your heart has just risen to a space behind your eyes. You try to push it down, try to control its unfortunate explosion, but it appears that she will have none of that. She lifts a strand of hair out of her face and smiles. She does not say one single word. The music is waves and waves, and the contents of your heart wash away in them. You will later recognize that they were bringing something back, too. Something unutterable. Her hands are on your shoulder. Your hands are on her waist. The hair on your neck stands on its ends with keen precision as a rich static lights up every nerve you contain. You move now, slowly, to the pulse, to the wave that contains both of you. Now you are against each other and you feel that you are no longer human, just a consciousness that is experiencing her, unworthy of such an energy. You are in each other’s eyes. Hers are perfect and deep and blue. You spend the night hours in dance, and too soon their unspeakable magic is gone. While the last track fades, your fellow revelers pour out the back entrance of the bar into the clear night air, and you’re with her there, breathing hard, alive. She’s against the wall, glistening, breathing, immaculate. You ask her name. She tells you. Then she touches your neck, leans forward. Your eyes close and The Kiss comes, but it's just to the side of your mouth, slow and long, and in it you find everything impossible that might be, everything that you’ve never allowed yourself to want. The night wind blows and your eyes open. She has gone. There is a scent, rare and impenetrably deep, belonging strictly to the gods, but gifted here and there to one woman in a generation, and against every universal law this scent lies now upon the space of your right cheek, and under the slow-pulsing neon lights of your bedroom high above the city, each gentle breath of it is all that keeps you alive.

The saxophone is one of the best instruments ever made. Absolute love every time you guys use them in your music
Been a fan for years now and I’m still amazed by how they KEEP. GETTING. BETTER.
*goosebumps!! everytime i listened to The Midnight... it takes me places
Driving an evening on the highway.
Turns Midnight on.
Life.
It's the best night driving music ever created. Instantly turns my Jetta into a Testarossa.
Lmao
Not a single The Midnight song is bad. Not even one.
i agree with you
💯
spitting facts
Universal truth
You are 💯
As someone who loves his brutal deathcore, stuff like defamed, slaughter to prevail, SPITE, I can say the 80s pop sound will always reign supreme and this shit right has those deep 80s vibes and I fucking love it!! This is the first song I heard by you guys and now it looks like I'm gonna go down this musical rabbit hole lol.
thanks... you made me laugh... ^^ Take care
Megadeth and Napalm Death guy here and I 1235% concur...
This type of music is just..perfect!
Just been cruising along my local sea front, 1986 Mercedes SL, this song blaring and feeling the wind in my bald! Beyond Badass!
Lights off, room dark and I am already dancing
Deep Blue has done something amazing. I rarely ever "feel" a song on the first listen, but this one just crushed it within seconds!
I’ve literally been looking forward to this all day. Thank you lads for making such amazing music
The sweet music of the 80s. A handful of Duran Duran, a sprinkle of Phil Collins, a pinch of Survivor and two beans of Tears for Fears. Simply wowwww. I can't stop listening to it !! You are great
My favorite part is when he says “ I’ve never felt my heart like this, she said I’ve never felt my body” something about those lyrics and how the song slows down to slow build to the saxophone is just awesome to me
Please don’t ever stop making amazing music. Love you guys 💙
"This will make a fine addition to my collection."
I first heard The Midnight on the New Retro Wave Channel when they posted the Endless Summer Album... ever since then I've found it hard to not have almost all The Midnight's music in my daily rotation.
Yeah it reaches deep within the soul 😃
Never in my life I heard sax so good. One of my most favorite song of The Midnight
Me: Okay, this is the best song The Midnight will ever have. It can't get any better.
The Midnight: *releases a new track*
Me: Okay, this is the best song The Midnight will ever have. It can't get any better.
So true. All their songs have been my favourite at some point
These are huge facts. I love The Midnight so much!
Well said. They have something special for sure
The second it started, my life changed.
Forever The Midnight. Beautyful music, magics sintetisazer.
Absolutely amazing! One of your guys best songs ever for sure, already spamming repeat!
Ur the guy hwo makes league stuff
Content creators commenting on rather niche stuff or simply praising stuff like other user accounts seems so weird
Awesome! We love ya Tyler and Tim!
This is like a mix of all my favourite The Midnight songs. Hint's of The Years, Collateral, River of Darkness and so many more. It's perfect guys. If the rest of the album is this level, we are in for such a treat.
Great song! Great vibes! And those posters...I have the Nocturnal poster. 😎
1:04 onwards: love the trance style synth build up. Impressive juxtaposition with retrowave.
So good, guys. It’s really amazing how you just continuously churn out bangers. Can’t wait for July 10th
Is that when they'll release a new album?
? What happens on July 10th?
Getting me through theses uncertain times, with music that makes us as feel certain things will get better again.
This...this is-This is the best thing I've ever read. Especially with The Midnight in my ears.
Well that's the best thing I've read tonight
This made my day, some fine genius writing.
This dude can FEEL and WRITE. Outstanding prose.
😭
Gorgeous song guys!
ALLER BIBI ON VEUT VOIR LE DRAGON
The sax returns! I'm in love
Few months ago, I came across a fan made music video of Synthetic, really liked that song and started listening on loop. After that did some research and discovered The Midnight and also the genre Synthwave. No regrets and listening to these kinda songs nowadays. ☺️ Best of luck from India 🇮🇳
This is the first track I’ll drive to at night whenever the hell this quarantine is over!!! Amazing work as always Tim & Tyler. 🔥
The Universe wouldn’t quarantine time make for better driving at night because the streets are empty?
Nachohatboy Not really, laws in my country are very strict, there’s nothing opened at night so no excuse to be wandering around, you’ll get fined and perhaps even arrested.
@@theuniverse8631 I drive all the time here in LA. No restrictions like that
Hey Synthwavers, music video to this song is here
th-cam.com/video/A_NyRVY1rDs/w-d-xo.html
Check it out!
Just drive brohha. It shouldn't be illegal to drive at night. Bring your mask just in case you get pulled over
The epic sax split-roasted my ears into the next dimension.
My soulmate introduced me to your music three years ago and since .. I have fallen in love with your music. Just saw you live for the first time in LA yesterday and the energy you bring is pure magic. Your music, your lyrics, your being takes me into another dimension. Your songs have been featured in all the travel videos my love and I have put together. Your music has literally traveled with us. Thank you so much!!!!
how in the hell....? how... HOW? How does this have 11 dislikes!!?
...
This is gold!
The Midnight is liquid gold!
Cheers to the NEW track!!
It's all accidents from people playing it on repeat
Jake has the truth of this. Only explanation that makes any bit of sense.
They dislike because the song ends
I love looking and finding all of the little Midnight "Easter Eggs" in the room. The Nocturnal poster, some artwork from Kids and its related singles, etc etc
It's been about half a year since I discovered your music and I must say there is no other music I can relate more to...your music literally calms and ignites and helps me through the day....Deep Blue was a success....my dream is to one day see you live.....keep up the great work.... blessings always
The midnight, no words can explain the feeling listening to your songs. It make you feel like you're time traveling and make you reminisce the good days...
This is one of the best short story romance, I have ever heard. A lot of passion, emotions, and this frickin', screaming sax. I absolutely love this song.
I want to be in that room with your music! Your music is a lifesaver in these troubled times. ♥️
Here's my take on the lyrics; let me know if anything needs to be revised:
I wasn't lookin' for action, just some distraction
Just a little week night booth in the back
I wasn't lookin' for romance
Just a quick slow dance
And the off chance, that an off night, and a side glance might lead me to the wrong hands
I wasn't lookin' for you
I wasn't after forever, just for whatever
I was one of the dark hearts
Who thought that they'd never
Truly be open
But this is an explosion
Of star crossed and blood rushed and head tossed and cheeks flushed and weeks lost
I wasn't lookin' for you
I said I never felt my heart like this
She said I never felt my body
I always thought the point of love was just
To keep from [x2]
Fallin to the deep blue, the deep blue [x2]
I wasn't look for devotion
Just cheap emotion
But I found love
I found love like an ocean
On my second whisky
Your eyes tried to miss me
Then lost control
I didn't know I had a soul until the moment you kissed me
I wasn't lookin' for you
I said I never felt my heart like this
She said I never felt my body
I always thought the point of love was just
To keep from [x2]
Fallin' to the deep blue, the deep blue [x2]
I wasn't lookin' for action, just some distraction
Just a little week night booth in the back
I wasn't lookin' for romance
Just a quick slow dance
And the off chance, that an off night, and a side glance might lead me to the wrong hands
Slight edits I think:
I was one of the dark hearts
Who thought that they'd never
*Truly be open
And:
I didn't know how to *soul until the moment you kissed me
But thanks! :)
@@apc5213 It is definitely hard to hear some of the lyrics when the beat overtakes his singing. I apologize for the inconvenience but I'm willing to change it up if it's wrong.
@@bigaj6901 Thank you for the feedback, I will revise with these changes!
@@apc5213 Thank you for these suggestions, I re-edited the lyrics with these revisions. If you seem to find any other mistakes, I will gladly fix more!
@@apc5213 idk I felt like you could "soul" to something like "vibing" to something dude, my bad jheez
Oh my.... words can't describe my excitement as I'm listening to this!!!!!
Beautyfull sequencer, arpeggios, kicks, pads, basses, reverbs, delays y magic vocal.
What a severely criminally underrated band you guys are. You are a true gem in today's dying music market that lacks genuine talent like you guys have. I have not heard so many lyrically consistent songs in so many years. Your lyrical strings are amazing, simply incredible quality. Never stop what you're doing Midnight and crew. We desperately need your spiritually uplifting sound medicine in the coming dark times to come. Thank you. :)
the midnight has a new song out? sorry boss, gonna stop working and listen RIGHT NOW
Cap.
Discovered The Midnight through a twitch streamer. And now they’ve become my favorite band. I don’t know where I’d be without The Midnight. Thank you for everything, keep it up!
You know real music when a song you've never heard can drag you through a memory trip back to a beautiful place of your fondest memories. Thank you!
'On my second whiskey
Your eyes tried to miss me
They lost control
I didn't know I had a soul
Until the moment you kissed me' That part always gets me. Just awesome on every level, musically and lyrically.
These lyrics always brings me back to my late teens/early 20s when I was full of pain and depression, living an introvert life which sounds really bad for first, but actually it was a bitter-sweet period somehow... :') The Midnight is always a self-knowledge travel for me, like a perfect time capsule. Thank you guys. Can't wait the full album!
looks like sax is back on the menu boys
This may just be my favorite Midnight song.
That opening melody is just as intoxicating as watching the light above the surface fade while letting yourself sink into the deep blue and embrace its cold
Lyrics (Genius):
[Verse 1]
I wasn't looking for action, just some distraction
Just a little weeknight, booth in the back
I wasn't looking for romance, just a quick slow dance
On the off chance that an off night and a side glance
Might lead me to the wrong hands

No joke this band does not have a single bad song! The perfect band to listen to on a long car journey
Music has such a power that we can't define. I feel like i am in a whole different world while listening to this song. I was waiting for the song and this made my time better. May be i will look back at this comment again in future and this song will remind me how we all dealt with the tough time now.
The best style of song ever
Anyone else hanging on by a thread largely thanks to great music like this? Awesome job guys!

Absolutely mind-blowing as always guys! That feeling of nostalgia is my absolute favourite feeling/emotion and you never fail to captivate me and express that fully in all of your music. Much love from Australia
Chef kiss good. Can’t wait for this album 🔥🔥
I have always said "the worst things about 80's music is that there will never be anymore" but then I discovered you guys and my world was made immensely better. I am so in love with your music! It speaks to my soul on such a deep level.
"I wasn't looking for youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"
Damn the chills I get, such a strong vocalist. #alwaysmidnight
Epic sax return!
You guys are consistent as hell, please never stop making music
"i wasn't looking for you"
Most definitely the best song of the entire album!
I want more of THIS!
I just found out about The Midnight and I can't stop listening! Amazing vocals and that Sax ❤ Every song is sooo good
