You think you could do the gmea concert band lyrical etude? I have been practicing it but its still a little bad for me on certain parts, your 1d audition solo helped me get into wind ensemble so it would be very much appreciated if you can do the etude!!!! Love your videos by the way they inspire me to be better each time I practice.
Love these videos, but you should do Cyrus the great, circus days, or Attorney General. Then again any other March or music is fine because it sounds amazing. Keep up the great work.👍
Syncing the playing and the music is relatively easy. I have the music playing in my headphones, if you see in the video, and I play along with it in real time and record it. But syncing the cursor scroll that you see on the sheet music is actually kind of tricky. It’s not actually synced with my playing, it’s a visual effect that has checkpoints on every measure and just moves across the screen.
Sure! To grease my slides, I start by getting all the residue build up off of them (so they don’t stick). I do this by cleaning them with warm soapy water and a rag (paper towels can sometimes leave behind residue on metals). After I’ve made sure the slide is clean, I apply a thin layer of Vaseline across the whole slide. I try to work the slide into the tube one side at a time and rotate the slide so that the Vaseline will coat all around the inside of the tube. For my first valve slide (since I move it the most), I’ll apply a small amount of valve oil to dilute the Vaseline. This will decrease the life span of the slide grease, but get it moving much faster. Hope this helps!
@iamhunterkane that's epic!! i figured since i was following the fingerings along with the music and it didn't match up with a BBb tuba so i figured out it was a CC. if i may ask, how do you like it any better than a regular BBb tuba, and would you recommend buying one?
@@jamiploe129 I love playing CC tuba. These days it matters less what contrabass tuba you play (BBb or CC) and more about what kind of sound you prefer. For me, I just enjoy playing CC more than BBb mainly because CC tuba is easier to play in legato sections (slurring between partial breaks) and, for me, it just has more clarity in the sound. I can appreciate the presence and core of a good BBb tuba, though, it just takes a bit more effort to achieve similar clarity to CC tuba.
Love these march tuba parts would love to try to play along with my bass trombone to the video to have fun.
SUPERB!!!
The purple carnival is by far my favorite march and dude you sound a amazing btw check out low etudes for tuba no 8
Thanks! Check back on Monday👀
Love this!
