Tuba Excerpt - Barnum and Bailey's Favorite

- I've never been one to post my own playing anywhere and I'm very much someone who "hides" my playing as if it is something that isn't ready to be heard. However, a large majority of the content that I consume on TH-cam and other platforms is other musicians, especially tuba players, playing their own instruments. The contrast between those two ideas is ironic. Why wouldn't I share my own playing if I enjoy listening to others play their instruments? So, realizing this, I decided that I should produce more of the content that I enjoy consuming on social media: musicians playing their instruments.
Anyway,
A standard of military band repertoire, "Barnum and Bailey's Favorite" is a piece that any auditioning tubist will be familiar with. It's an upbeat circus march that's somewhat challenging for C tuba fingerings but sits very nicely for B-flat tuba fingerings (as most marches do). Hope you enjoy!

I couldn't imagine playing this on a C tuba, I play on Bb and its not that hard to play, however playing anything on a C tuba is quite hard, It could also be that im only 14.. I've tried a couple times and I just couldn't do it. Amazing sound man!

This song was an inspiration for another piece called "Barnum and Tesla's Tandem Bicycle" by Erika Svanoe. I played it in my school wind ensemble on tuba. Super cool that i got to hear the initial inspiration piece from you.
I highly suggest you look it up, and the part is also super fun! If you look up the song, the first measure is completely the same, and everything else you can definitely hear where the ideas came from.
