Naast de eerder geplaatste geluidsopname van Maurice André met de Koninklijke Harmonie van Thorn hebben wij recent ook de LIVE-TV opname in ons bezit gekregen. Beeldopnames van het laatste concert dat trompet legende Maurice André gaf vlak voor zijn overlijden in 2012.
Deze opname is gemaakt in juni 2008 in de grote zaal van het NOUVEAU SIECLE in LILLE.

Maurice was born to play the trumpet ... He took it all the way to his grave. I saw a video of him crying while listening to two kids playing the trumpet. Unbelievable talent .and by the way he played one of my fav movie theme🤓🎺🔥👌🏿✨..the world lost a truellly genuine musician and educator. Maurice Andre ...the best and most famous classical trumpet player ever!

The first time I notice how straight forward perpendicular he played. Many of the best seem to play that way but there are a few exceptions. Saxophone players always remind me of the fact that you "really" can't play well pointing downward. I then mumble something about teeth but perhaps they are right.
