Snedecor Low Etude VIII (For Two Tubas)
I've been trying to keep myself busy this summer with little projects that keep me in shape and playing a lot, this being one of them. This is a duet between Vol. I No. VIII and Vol. II Etude 8 from Phil Snedecor's "Low Etudes for Tuba" and "Low(er) Etudes for Tuba," respectively.
I've included music at the bottom of the screen to make it easier to follow along with what I'm playing. The tuba on the left is the top tuba part (Vol. I) and the tuba on the right is the bottom tuba part (Vol. II) (even though the "bottom" tuba part is written higher than the "top" tuba part a majority of the time). You can find both these etude books at pasmusic.com.

You think you could do the gmea concert band lyrical etude? I have been practicing it but its still a little bad for me on certain parts, your 1d audition solo helped me get into wind ensemble so it would be very much appreciated if you can do the etude!!!! Love these march tuba parts would love to try to play along with my bass trombone to the video to have fun.
I couldn't imagine playing this on a C tuba, I play on Bb and its not that hard to play, however playing anything on a C tuba is quite hard, It could also be that im only 14.. I've tried a couple times and I just couldn't do it. Amazing sound man!

i tried figuring out circular breathing and couldnt do it is it something that comes naturally or just takes alot of practice?
I’m not circular breathing here if that’s what you’re wondering. However, to answer your question, yes that does take a lot of practice. Some people get the hang of it faster than others do, everyone is different. A former teacher of mine taught using the water cup and blowing bubbles through a straw method. I’m sure there’s a few tutorials on TH-cam that can help you get started!
