      I agree but it is demonstrable that assuming dispersion remains the same it makes it easier to score if you have a 9 iron in instead of a 7 iron. It's the tiger effect

      5-6... more like 15-16 with that swing/speed/strike pattern.

      @iCharlie93 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cthompson8405 How many 15-16 HCPs do you know swinging 115mph? 🤨 Dispersion was a bit ehh but was much better by the end of the fitting, which is the whole point bud.

    Ian noting the irregular pressure movement in the feet and relating it to the strike shows why he is as respected as a fitter as he is. 🙌

    Kudos to Andrew - Can't be easy to bring a great swing into a You Tube set for all to witness and critique. Well done. I play off the same hcp as he does and I get nerves just watching let alone getting filmed.

    I find it amazing that someone can take 70 (or more) swings with driver at FULL SPEED and still hit it that good towards the end. 2.4 handicap and I can barely hit 70 balls total, let alone 70 drivers. Another great fit and these are the videos from TXG that I love watching.

    He has an impressive move and plenty of speed. I think some of his stability issues are from him wearing flat Jordans and not lacing them. There’s no way his feet aren’t losing stability, affecting the consistency of his strike. I wish he had tied his shoes, or better yet had a more stable platform.

    Ian, I see an MOI matching machine there! I used to fit and build clubs and for me it was the only way to build clubs properly. Swing Weight isnt a scientific method of measurment. We see pros sticking lead tape on their shorter irons to increase the SW because it feels too light. This is becasue D4 through a set isnt a feel, MOI is.
    I'd love to see you do a video on MOI fitting with irons. While I accept its not for everyone, I beleive that most iron shaft fittings feel better when MOI is in the right range.
    IDEA:
    Driver with shaft A and Shaft B. SW the same. Driver with shaft A and Shaft B. Moi the same.
    Drive with Shaft A in Regular and X flex SW the same vs MOI the same.
    I feel this would dive into what feel really is on a golf club. I'm convinced MOI matching is the only way to build clubs properly!

    That was a lot of work moving a plethora of pieces of the puzzle around then putting them together to make the nuances of Andrew’s swing come together effectively. Softening up the negative effects of some of his misses was a job well done. Getting his miss left with a slightly closed club face to not pull left and down out of control (even with just 1,700rpm of backspin) was impressive.

    I have a Cobra F9 driver and a Cobra Aerojet driver. I hit them both about the same. 10 yd fade and my miss is a huge slice. Because I am much more accurate with my three wood I use it off almost all par 4 and par 5 tees. I also hit 10 yd fade with it but hit a lot more fairways. My three wood is Cobra flyz set at 13*. My driver's are both set at 8*. My clubhead speed is 100-105. I don't get the length I use to get.
    I am 59 yrs old 6'2" 300#. I have had six low back surgeries and right total knee replacement. The knee replacement seems to have cost me distance. I am right handed so that knee replacement is power side.

      You're absolutely right. Seasoned fitters have seen a lot of swings and know what can work and why. We also know that everyone is on a pitch count, so we always go for what will be what we think would improve your game the quickest... and then, try more and fine tune from there!

    Is Andrew not the perfect example of why amateur golfers shouldn't tinker? Get properly fit then work with the equipment you've been fit for. Having so many shaft options at home is just asking for trouble, have an off day on course and next thing you're at home changing shafts wondering if that was the reason for having an off day. Crazy

    • @clubchampionmedia
      @clubchampionmedia  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi friend. It's impossible to know what length your irons need to be without actually seeing you swing and going through a fitting. We're thrilled to hear that you've seen improvements with your longer driver though. You could always go longer if you'd want to experiment, but keep in mind the governing bodies of golf (USGA and R&A) have both limited the max length of a driver to 46''.

    I have kept my 909 D3 in the bag since 2010 because the improvement has only been about +5 yards of distance and dispersion decrease of 2 yards. Is that about the performance increase you would expect to see on a driver that old? Or think it is more because of poor fittings?
