Yes and no. Yes, Ian knows sooooo much. He has probably one of the biggest libraries of fitting knowledge of anyone on the planet. Any tour Pro would want this man standing behind them and any company would love to have him on their staff. Now, I think sometimes that can complicate things. Off the rip, it was obvious that this kid needed a softer tipped shaft. The shafts they were hitting were all super stiff tipped shafts. Yes they say “low launch, low spin” but this kids issue wasn’t necessarily loft delivery. It was open face heel strikes. The shafts they tried were working against him in a sense that the tips were too stiff and hanging that face open still and coming in with too flat of a lie. He needed a shaft that would close at impact and droop a bit to deliver it properly. The shaft they ended on was the softest tip section of all the ones in this video. It’s not a surprise that it worked. As Ian has said in previous videos, he sees shafts as more left-right ball flights and not vertical. Closing the face in this situation would greatly reduce the spin rate and the easiest way to do that without changing anything else is to just get the kid into a softer tip section. Think Ventus Red, Hzrdus Red RDX, Tensei 1K Pro Blue, GD IZ or CQ, OBAN ISAWA RED, these all would’ve solved the problem so much faster and still be able to keep up with his speed
@@jazzyjay4595 I don't think you can say definitely that a softer tip closes the face more or faster. It could.. but I think with the years of fitting exp Ian has, he's seen this player before. Kid could just make a swing adjustment too for better contact 🤷♂️ fitting isn't a science.
@@zacharymilos392 fitting is more of a math equation and it’s known that if you add a softer tip shaft to a player that struggles to close the face we end up with an easier time closing the face.
@@jazzyjay4595 I'm not a fitter, so I'll just take your word for it. If it's that simple then Ian's job is in danger, so is the entire business in general as AI can easily take this over. Not sure if that'll happen..
This happens all the time, golfers come in all the time and need proper equipment, but their swing mechanics hinder the over all outcome, but fitted equipment get them so much closer to their desired rage to benefit along with proper instruction and golf knowledge, great job Ian
This is content that I would watch every week. A video of the PROCESS of the fit. Great work TXG. Please post more vids of regular guys and gals being fitted to clubs and seeing the improvement from before and after. 👍👍👍
Can't wait for this coming week. I was a winner of the bracket driver giveaway and have my fitting on the 26th. Have been playing a box kit driver from Dick's for 3 years and have some wild misses, so highly looking forward to seeing what changes come from this!
Another great 'live' fit. If ever anyone needed proof that a fitting can make a signifant difference, this video is that proof. Obviously Case has a bit more potential than the average golfer but the gold nugget is the demonstration of how detrimental the wrong equipment can be, and how the right equipment can unlock (hitherto wasted) potential.
Been watching you for over 4 years and this is by far for me , THE BEST video of club fitting !!!!!! YOU GUYS NAILED IT !!!!! Awesome boys !!!! Mahalo !!!!!
Id be intrigued to know how he'd have hit his original driver right at the end of the fit. You've imparted quite a bit of knowledge during the fit, and he will probably have made minor tweaks along the way based on your feedback. It's unlikely it would be a significant improvement on his early shots, but would be interested in seeing that as a direct comparrison, rather than his first swings numbers. Looked like an amazing fit though, honing in on what was needed, and if he was struggling a lot with his driver game before, and still shooting under par, the rest of his game must be stellar!
~24:15 I was over the moon to see some of those cuts starting a bit more left and seeing a more neutralized left to right spin. Some of those earlier swings looked so far to the right.
I just started watching you all about a week ago leading up to a not so great fitting, your customers are so lucky to have you all and keep up the great content!
I have paid a small fortune for lessons. Apparently all I needed to hear was “strike it in the toe.” One range session and my weak open face swipes are gone. Wow.
Confession time… 🙋🏻♂️ While viewing I kept thinking “work on this guy’s delivery, ball positioning, etc…” and then you guys work your magic… shut my mouth. Well done fellas.
What a powerful video. this guy in the bay is me. 120 mile an hour ball speed and 260 yard carry. Horrible. I have been on the fence about a driver fitting for years and this sold me. My only way to consistently hit the fairway is 75% swings. Everything else in the bag works good but the driver is just such a beast for me to handle. Good job TXG. I’ll be seeing you soon in the Atlanta area.
LOVE fitting videos. So many people can understand what it is like to have the face open, hit it low and heal side, and just see these high spinning peelers go off to the right. And how many gains are out there when those conditions get fixed.
Another great one from the bay. So sad we do not have guys like you in Denmark. I think this will lift Gaese (hope its right 😊) game it will surely give him a hole new 2 short in to the greens. So best of luck to the guy. And Mike and Ian, great to have you to back befind the counter. Take care and be safe
This makes so much sense to me. I hit up 3-5°, i swing at 112 club speed and get 1.45 efficiency but can’t get my spin down under 3200 so only carry like 240-255. My irons though are all good distances.
I partially agree about the "fitting" but i think him actually seeing where he hits the ball on the face and how the face is consistently open, helps more. Which i believe it did. He'd hit any driver with a bunch of spin weak right, hitting bottom heal every time.
Indeed. Awesome job, team. Any time you want a mid-50's long-time golfer (single-digit handicapper) up north for a fitting, just let me know. I will hop in my car right away!
Absolutely great fit and well done Ian and Mikey you guys are the gold standard for sure. I’m going to Club Champion in Glasgow on Aug 2 and hope Joe can sort me out or at least straighten my drives out. 🤙
Great to see so in depth fitting. Anyone else notice he was very open target stance wise? Bet if he dropped the right foot back he’d see a change a little. Just observation of the video.
Really enjoyed this one. Just watching the channel gives me an understanding of what I am doing. I may not be able to correct what I am doing, but at least from the equipment side, I have an idea why the ball is doing what it is doing.

Great fitting guys, & great results. This is the best video that I've ever seen from the beginning to the end, really enjoyable to watch. TXG your the best!!
This, to me, looks like a good fitting. I'm not a fitter, but I have learned a lot about numbers on a launch monitor, and tested myself, so I don't think it's the club that does it. Ian says that the Callaway Paradym is the best club they have tried and don't need to try other driver heads. But his own head and the Stealth 2 don't have the same data that the Paradym had. It seems to me that they can make any clubhead they want seem like the best, when the delivery actually decides whether or not the ball goes further or not. They have done more of a lesson than a fitting in my eyes when they change the path and change the strike. Not that it's anything wrong with that, it's a good fitting and Case should be happy to have a new driver that carries 300 yards, because his swing speed says that he should. 120 mph in a stock swing is more like Rory McIlroy speed, which is insane to have in a stock, balanced swing. What they should have done is compare his old driver and the new driver with the same numbers. In this video, Case hits his old driver in the heel, low on the face and with an open face, where Ian says if they layer up on each other, they create so much spin. In the paradym driver, they have shifted the strike more towards the middle, squared the face up, and suddenly he hits it 300 yards. Case even says it himself, that he tries to feel like he swings more from the inside, which would encourage Case to hit up on the ball, reducing the spin loft, and reducing the spin. Please, people need to be aware of this before they go see a fitter, because a fitter can sell you any club he wants if he just tweaks the numbers a bit. I don't see how a driver head alone can change strike, angle of attack, path and face to path. This is about the swing of the player, not solely the driver head. If Case would hit his old driver with the same data and the same feels that he had with the paradym driver, I think we would see 300 yard drives with his own driver as well.
Was thinking the same thing. Apparently he is starting to play scratch level golf but is push fading all his drives? With 3-4 of them slicing OB? Makes no sense.

Strange that you’d need a new driver every year if they fit you so well into a previous year’s model since things don’t change radically one generation to the next. What degree improvement did you experience one to the next? Honestly curious. 😊⛳️
Wasn’t great player when got fit for SIM which Ian fit me for and as my game has got miles better…3.5 HC and cobra took it on little further in distance and Aerojet is longer still as I’ve got better and got little faster!!!!! Similarly curious if you’ve ever experienced this kind of fit yourself?

I dropped by Edwin watts with steel toe boots and jeans on and tried some drivers but they couldn’t help me get my backspin under 4000 but on a couple swings and I got a total 290 drive but only on a couple and dead straight on the Quad.my clubhead speed averaged 113mph. They told me to come back with my golf gear on because my club speed is going to increase even more. Ian, if he pushed the ball up in his stance to give the face a bit more time to close would that help the face angle square up? Looks like he’s trying to hit driver from 3i position (could be camera angle)
Our office has a GC3 and I have been getting spinrates in the 4-5k range and only hitting around 200 yards or less! Really frustrating. On course I am seeing longer distances and I think I am definitely swinging less/different in the sim room. It’s a small space. But it does seem my 3 wood often goes farther off the tee.
