Man I love these videos, hearing the technical talk on both the swing and the equipment is just incredible. Thank you for this stuff, loving the content!
Trottie is great for promo, but I'd trust TXG with my clubs like they were my kids. Just look at the way Micah Morris has been through like 5 shafts already since signing with TaylorMade... Ian and Mikey get it right.
Going through this process right now with a used TSi3 I just picked up. Love the adjustability aspect of it so I can really dial in my swing One of the shocking differences I discovered lately has been the swing weight. Apparently I need a lighter weight (6g) than the one it came with (12g). It has made a much bigger difference than I expected
Great content as usual. Just listening I learned something that when I go get my driver fitting I will now have a concept of what is going on with the process. Thank you and can't wait for the next vid.
Mac Boucher seems like a really good dude. I'm sure a round with him would be a blast. Crazy that the guy can curve the ball like that with any club. Straight shots are just boring anyways LOL.
19:10, this is the value of a great fitting and a great fitter. You don’t need to do a fitting to be quoted a $1k driver/shaft combo. You can use the time to optimize what you have and explore options, a good fitter will/should do this for you.
Totally agree. Of course Mac's Speeder Platinum (RRP USD 599.00) and a Stealth plus is a USD 1k combo to start with. But in those cases it's even more important your fitter takes the time to tune your current hefty investment.
I don't know if this is possible, but seeing a TM guy like Mac get fit for the new TM gear and a Callaway guy like JDub be fit for the new Callaway gear each release would be a pretty cool way to see the gear in action.
I don’t know if you can make suggestions but I love your knowledge on all the clubs. I have been struggling with driver and used to be accurate. I am using Callaway st max at 10.5 to help save me. When I hit a straight drive it is ballooning up but am pull hooking it most of the time. Is the drop loft stiffer shaft the best option? Or do I I try a less left bias driver?
Hey Larry, To figure out for sure what's going on, you should go find your nearest Club Champion and get fit! With that said, if the club is ballooning on you, you may want to try lowering the loft which will open the head slightly. Outside of that, going to a more fade-bias driver is a good potential solution, or even playing a lower-spinning golf ball could help. Good luck!
You should try and do a video series with Lexi Thompson. I just heard her bag is full of older clubs from various years. 2015 even. Similar to your Paige series. I thought that was informative.
I’m halfway thru the video but I wonder if Ian considered a counterbalance shaft. I would have tried RDX Blue 60 gram TX with a little lead tape toward the middle back of the head. 9.5 cranked to 8.75 and upright
I’ve been “fit” 3 times in the last 3 years man. Went through some swing changes with my delivery mid summer and therefor the equipment wasn’t working for me. Sorry it bothered you
@@MacBoucherGolf I'm more surprised that TaylorMade and Trottie weren't able to get you sorted out since you started repping them? Do you not have access to their best resources?
@@slade_golfagain, I went through a swing change to neutralize my delivery. I see Ian a couple times a year to dial things in. Trottie lives on the west coast and I don’t have access to him all the time. We never actually did a fitting with Trottie. It was a testing of the new head that’s it.
As entertaining as Mac is with his creativity, all I can see and hear is the golfing crowds holding up banners and singing "Wild Thing". Gone are the days where the golfer would open or close their stance, strengthen or weaken their grip, physically open or close the club face, move the ball forward or back in their stance at address when it came to shot-shaping. The club is clearly more important and Seve is doing somersaults somewhere in Salamanca.
That’s what I want to see also. These pro guys get boring to watch. I want to see the average golfer get fitted and gain distance and accuracy by them fitting them.
No one wants to watch a 18 handicap struggle to hit a ball straight. The fitting doesn’t do much because their delivery is extreamly inconsistent. You need better players to get more accurate fittings and not just be guessing based on the 1 or 2 good ones a weaker player hits
@@willh6226 i agree no one wants to watch a 18 handicap hit shanks. i am a low-mid handicapper hitting around 260 so would draw more insights from a similar fitting. before u tell me to go get fit myself you should know that not all countries have trackmans or fitters anywhere near as good as ian. i chose what clubs i should be playing based on this channel alone.
Sorry, but I don't find any value in this kind of video. What does this have to do with us average golfers? If you're trying to "sell" the value of a custom fitting, you're missing the point.
Its showing if they can find a viable option for a guy who swings it different each time - they can probably find an option for most people. Come on Dale.

Woooo! A real nuanced fitting! That TM one with Mac was a snooze

@@xXcharliegoonerXx Micah is also a mental headcase lol. Never his fault
@@xXcharliegoonerXx I agree 1000%. Ive seen the Trottie vids and just dont like his approach. Ian/TXG seems to be much better.

Ian please test the krank driver head bryson is using

I think 'violent' is the best way to describe Mac's swing.
Solid review, great framework for understanding nuance that can be applied to any driver fitting

Man I wished Mac went back to teaching, I was never striking a ball as well as I was when I did some work with him
I love a head with no loft but sits square. It's perfect for the low spin cut from the inside.

Plenty have heard of Speeder Platinum in this group !
Mac is dialed ☎️ 💣💣

What length is his driver built to? Thx cheers !
Mac is one impressive dude.
Work with what you got. You can just fit for subtle adjustments... just a small $600 head change.
What shoes is Mac wearing?
I keep asking, more fitting vids with just normal customers! that'd be really awesome to see!
Gotta center it. There’s no magic club that’s all heel or toe….
Bow-cher? Boo-shay.
What a goober

Get Ron back for driver fittings. To many of these vids are with 120mph swings speeds .
