I really like the Night Drive videos. They are never the only video of the car, so people who complain need to understand there are other videos that show certain details better. The Night Drives are very unique. Other reviewers don’t let us see how the vehicle looks at night, and neither do most test drives, so I think the Night Drives are cool, but also valuable.

The thing with styling is that EVs give more opportunities to consider different styles, ICE cars are limited by the drive train.

I think a frunk, even a small one is very useful, you can just put the cable there, so they don't clog up the trunk or get stuck underneath your cargo on a trip, when you need them to charge up.

The lighting is incredible!! Adds a whole new dimension to the car, I’d even say it rivals Audi lighting
The Ioniq 5 is superb, I think. Retro and modern at the same time. Both at night and at day. I've ordered one and are counting the days until the delivery date - set to september 15th. Thank you, Asian Petrol for sharing great videos. Even though, you are making it harder to wait ;)

@@jbmcdoogle Tesla may have win in range and performance but, the ioniq 5 has a faster charging time because they use 800 volt charger if I'm not mistaken.

The car already looks beautiful in daylight but wow it's even better looking at night. The pixel lighting looks very eye-catching and distinctive at night. It makes the city you're driving in looks like futuristic scene in cyberpunk themed movie. So cool 👌🏼 Hopefully you can show us Kia EV6 very soon as well 😁

The nice night video makes me want to get one in sky blue matte. It feels like driving inside a computer but for real. So also man, you are very informative and I like your cool approach to things. I have had 4 Hyundai's and one very fast Kia Forte SX 6 speed. It was off the first ship to Canada and I got one. Now I am liking the new KIA branding but that retro Pony look is making me feel like taking a long night run. hahaha. Oh well, I will wait until a few more are driving around and check them out in person on the road.

Great video and review. As I get older I am more interested in how the hed lights do in non-city areas. Also, does the passenger front seat have adjustable lower back support, or the ability to raise and lower? Can you shut off the head-up display? I do like the fact it has buttons and it is not all controlled from a flat panel screen.
Yes, head lamp system is quite bright, just like any other recent Hyundai models. 2. Yes, you can adjust passengers side lower it, raise it. And yes, you can completely shut off the HUD. Thank you Dave for enjoying the Hyundai IONIQ 5 review.
The only thing that pulls me back from this beauty is the charging network in Toronto area compared to Tesla. I have a Sonata Hybrid (since 2012) and Model 3 (replaced our 2014 Santa Fe 2T in 2021). I am very happy with Hyundai.

Hey Charlie I have to say thank you and the team for these great videos, making my decision on a car is much easier because of them. When I was first watching your videos I was looking at the new Tucson the hybrid version but after seeing this. I believe the Ioniq 5 will be the next car. My only thing I'm curious about is if it the Ioniq 5 would have a sentry mode like the Tesla? Where it would surveillance the car when it is parked or driving.

VWs new infotainment system looks nice but seems very buggy and laggy.
That is not even comparable, and I think that the HUD looks much better too.
Hyundai groups user interface has always been the most useful, intuitive and easy to use display in the business.

I need a new car and am waiting for the Ionic 5 to come out in NA. It’s the only car that checks all the boxes for me. Don’t car about the small Frunk. Only thing I wish they had is a darker shade of blue. Hyundai really did an incredible job with this car

The Ionic 5 is much more eye appealing than the Tesla, and it should do well in the United States! Thanks for sharing! Just in passing , I have upgraded to a 2019 Sonata Limited , my first certified pre-owned Hyundai , and it is a great car ! Take care!
They don't plan to make enough to threaten tesla at all.
They only planned for 10,000 for all of Europe in 2021, which is much more ev friendly in comparison to the states.
So expect like the mach e to get less than that amount shipped to the states. 🤔 shame to it's a very unique looking cuv.

Nonetheless I have a question which you might be able to answer:
Does the remote (forward/backward driving) also work if there is only very limited space (e.g. 15cm) left on the sides of the car? This is an important topic for people with very narrow garages as they might step out of the car outside of the garage and then park it with the remote/key fob.
Ah, really did't have chance to try how much room there has to be in order to be moving. But this Hyundai IONIQ 5 is from Korea, where there's limited parking space, so i think you should be alright.
@@AsianPetrolhead I am not so sure about this as the official documentation states that for the automated parking you are required to have 40cm left on each side.
But as this is the forward/backward driving function "only" I am hoping that there are no limits.
PS: Single car garages in Germany can be quite small. Mine is currently large enough for my SmartEQ, 2 bikes, a barbecue ... but the IONIQ 5 will hardly fit due to the limited width.

Liking what I see. Such cool design and very interesting technology. My main concern is if there's enough space for family and dog? Especially the trunk size due to the angled rear window. What's your thought about that?
And how well does the ventilated leather seats work, when it's hot and you have been driving for some time? How about comfort when driving for a couple hours? ☺️

yes, i think so, too. Trunk seems quite alright for the class. But it seems like they have work hard to give more interior space for 1st and 2nd row passengers. You know when i did the range test, the seats were quite comfortable. Thank you.

Very distinctive lighting front and back. Car does need a rear wiper. Rear passenger side air cooling vents ( 6:06 ) a nice touch.

First nighttime view of the Ioniq 5, and I like it. Wanted to see the front bumper 'light bar' lit up, and that looks good too; shame the start-up light sequence does not utilise that too.
Personally, I like the dark mode setting on the dashboard screens.
Have to say that Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kona EV6 are both well designed cars with good tech and efficient batteries and motors.
If only they had the Tesla Sentry mode for the added security that offers...
Do the left or right indicator pop-ups on the drivers screen only appear with the side cameras?

L/R indicator pop-ups on externel mirrors with a tiny camera included on each wing mirrors, side cameas not avaliable for export market.
