      New Ioniq 5n with 585 hp is interesting to buy. Acceleration is better than audi RS3 and BMW M3 who are some snails compared to ioniq 5N.

    • @OlJackBurton
      @OlJackBurton 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@caleidoo That 1 second delay is the traction control preventing the tires from spinning like crazy on the wet surface. If that traction control was truly disabled, you would spin longer than 1 second on full throttle. On dry surfaces, the car will go to 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, so no 1 second delay...

    This car is phenomenal in many ways and is perfect for a family. Better looking, technologically more advanced, and more unique than ID4, Enyaq or even Tesla model Y. I believe these are it's main competitors. I am surprised a bit with bad consumption (considering it is a Hyundai), but now seeing how you drive it, I understand. :D It had better consumption than Enyaq in a big Norway test (503 km until it died), so I suppose those cars also would also not do well in these conditions combined with your driving. Yeah I know you had cruise control in that range test, but still.... Some comments in the video are really nitpicky, and structure is a bit chaotic, but overall a nice review considering the limited time with a car.

    There is so many setting possible in this car, you might find what you want. I have seen for exemple that you can have a smart setting that adapt the reaction to how you drive, so you can choose to have limited power in eco, and normal, and full in sport, or choose that the car adapte itself to you, and be more reactive even if you are in eco mod for exemple if you have an energic way to drive. I guess that you don't have to change the drive mod that much then. I think that I would prefer for me to decide because otherwise I will drive always energic even if I wanted to save energy in the first place. 😁

  • @The_Jimrod
    @The_Jimrod 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I do wonder if some of your reported range issues (albeit at high speed in poor conditions) might be due to that overzealous battery management - seems rather heavy-handed. Perhaps that can be relaxed in software updates going forwards. For now with my next lease change due late November I'm really hoping the BMW i3 gets that possible battery upgrade, the current one does so much well I've found annoying in others! Especially all the digital noises and interference in the Korean cars which are otherwise great!

    What a brilliant vehicle and its cousin, the Kia Ev6, look like real players for the EV market & auto market in general. The rear windshield is a problem though for both vehicles. I know you generally don't use the rear wipers often but when you do use them it's because you need them. I live where it snows & if the wind doesn't get rid of the rain it's definitely not getting rid of the snow.

      I agree it perhaps was a bit to brave from Hyundai, but also , it is kind of a design statement with balls. :) You can turn on a rear view camera (i think with press of one button) if needed, but I personally think side mirrors can do most of the "safety job" necessary when changing lanes, and that camera when turning on side signals definitively also additionally helps when you really decide to change lanes and warns you if you cannot..

      I really don’t see what the problem is with a rear wiper. What are you supposed to do, for example, first thing in the morning when you are reversing when the car has been out all night? Living in the UK we have a lot of rain or condensation that appears on a car overnight. Unless you have a garage, an unclear rear screen is a daily occurrence in winter and even some summer days. I think Hyundai should think about this or at least offer it as an option. It is a problem I could put up with but I don’t think I could afford an Ionic 5 anytime soon. Good informative video.

    Interesting review! Although I find it funny how often the word power is used for a 2 something tonne electric carriage. I found the power reserve more than adequate and never felt like I need more. And sporty, another pointless characteristic in a sensible car. I can not agree with your review, I drove the same model yesterday also on the Autobahn in the sport-modus not only up to 150 km/h, I drove up to its maximum speed 185 km/h and my impression was, that this car ist absolut stable at this speed, there was no "feeling of uncertainty" or what so ever (my present car is a BMW 5 and the safety-feeling at high speed is very good), the suspension is by far better than the suspension of my BMW, it is more comfortable, but stable on the road and the acceleration is fantastic in 5,2 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, that are results of supersportscars 25 years ago, if that is too less for you .......

    Changing driving mode while accelerating is not ideal because every mode has a different gas pedal setting response so if you are pressing let's say 30% in eco mode and switch to sport mode , the same amount of pedal pression is corresponding to a different map let's say 40,% , so always better to change mode while decelerating or with a very light pressure ( this on the Kona but i think it's no different on this new Ioniq)
