Who gives a sh!t if your golf can do 5seconds less on a lap with slick tires and a pro pilot? Ioniq5N is within 15 seconds of an Audi RS4 or a taycan, that means losing 0.750 second per km of track. Is there a faster car than this among SUVs under $70,000??????? In the comments, there are people who didn't consider the price and segment, which are the biggest factors in purchasing a car No one buys a car just by looking at a piece of paper with specifications on it
Look I’m a BMW dude and every 2-3 weeks on the Nordschleife during the season doing laps in my m240i and after watching the lap it’s more than I expected. Good job to Hyundai! From what I can see the good lap time comes due to the fact that it has great acceleration to around 180kph. The handling seems playful and balanced but due to the weight it didn’t over perform but it did a decent job. For the wide and very good tire the corner speeds were good but not extraordinary. Also the acceleration above 180kph is really not brilliant. It hits slightly over 250kph before Schwedenkreuz. With my 340hp bmw I reach around 245-250kph… sooo not a big difference considering that it has way more power. So let’s chill a little bit at that point. Still great car and Hyundai proved that EV can perform and be fun. The emotion thing is still not there. I’m curious how long the brakes resist till they overheat. Same for the battery.
The biggest strength of the IONIQ5n is that it can ride on the track with regular brakes rather than carbon brakes, thanks to 0.6g regenerative braking, and as a result, it is possible to attack Nurburgring for 2 laps. Being able to attack on a track without expensive carbon brakes can be said to be a milestone for EV. Imagine that technology being applied to EV in the form of small, low sedans or coupe, The new era of EV will begin.
Gotta admit for it being a large and heavy SUV, it’s pretty impressive putting down a decent lap time. I own a standard ioniq 5 and it’s comfortable, but no sports car in that trim. Just the fact that Hyundai made this as not just a one-off, and it’s going into production is a great thing for everyone.
Yes there is room for development. In the case of fast ICE cars, almost all of them are in their last generation. It may not seem like it now but in 5 years EVs will be the only choice for drivers. Hopefully they will get lighter and more energy dense.

I hope not. Rally without engine sound, antilag sound and exhaust popping will suck hard. Not to mention weight and batteries bursting in flames after crashing.
@@paulklp8262 I've never watched fox news. Batteries in EV cars, when damaged, have tendency to explode and burn for up to 9 hours - that's a fact. Not so long ago the ship transporting electric cars almost burnt to a crisp because of battery failure. There are numerous videos of EVs bursting in flames after a crash. Combustion engine cars also can burn but unlike EVs, you can extinguish them. With today's battery technology EV cars have more cons than pros and they're NOT as eco friendly as guys in suits want us to think.

For
the wide and very good tire the corner speeds were good but not extraordinary.
The biggest strength of the IONIQ5n is that it can ride on the track with regular brakes rather than carbon brakes, thanks to 0.6g regenerative braking,
and as a result, it is possible to attack Nurburgring for 2 laps.
Being able to attack on a track without expensive carbon brakes can be said to be a milestone for EV.
Imagine that technology being applied to EV in the form of small, low sedans or coupe,
The new era of EV will begin.

Well, the chief engineer for N-Division is the former chief engineer of BMW M. We know they mean business since the i30N.
Why Porsche and Tesla refuse to test their Pure production cars?😂😂
