I was not that into this game and had no desire to purchase it, but after playing the demo I am in. This happens so often for me, devs/publishers need to release more Demos!! It's the best advertising for me.

Some games have a live test you need to sign up for and might miss out on while others make it a pre-order bonus which is frustrating because the people who pre ordered are gonna play it anyway so why not make it a regular download for anyone to get instead. There are still regular non pre order demos but still
When I was a kid without any money, the only thing I could afford to play were the demos of games that I could download over a modem. I got plenty of enjoyment out of just playing the demo of each game but I know I missed out on a lot of games by not being able to play the whole thing. Disposable income is nice to have.
I get that it can be a risk for devs and whatnot, but in my recent memory of the past like 6ish years, every game with a free demo I've bought fairly quickly after launch. I still tend to wait for reviews, but to me a demo screams "confidence" like 80% of the time. Will definitely be getting this one
The screenshot highlighted on the map part is really big for me. The most annoying things about some metroidvania's is finding a hidden thing but not able to reach it yet. The screenshot thing is the best alternative to basically writing down a backtrack guide for yourself
When I heard about this feature I hoped it would set a trend for every game hereafter. It’s such a handy, clever idea! I can see it being so universally useful in any game
Metroid Dread (especially) and Meteroid Prime Remaster have good ways of helping you with backtracking. But I like this way of backtracking with the screenshots, too. That way you can decide yourself how much you want to mark and remember.
This notion that other game review sites are somehow really dishonest is so weird. Everybody is giving this game high ratings. And generally Jake (gameranks) reviews on any game are more or less in line with any other review outlet.

If you find that weird or disagree then so be it....that is your opinion....everyone has one and is entitled to one.

ACG, Mortismal Gaming etc. Like do you have any examples of any "general" or "specific" dishonesty going on in "most other other sites"? Like, did I miss something big? Any example at all where Gameranx was honest when most other reviewers weren't?

I remember them all from the sands of time and coming home after school and throwing my bag aside forgetting about home work and smashing my way through all the fights and the puzzles and obstacles and loving every second of it. Especially the sound track to the two towers (I think it's called) with the gore and the epic scenes of running from that giant beast and getting ready for the inevitable battle with it at the end. Ah good times.

I'm a doctor now,not the quack kind, actual medical kind. i still play games and i also study..a lot. it doesn't matter whether you study much in school at all. you only have to develop an interest in a subject and gain knowledge. gaming is simply a mode of entertainment, just because you play games doesn't mean you end up doing nothing in life

The Two Towers is Lord of the Rings, lol. There's a PoP game called Two Thrones but what you're describing sounds more like you mean Warrior Within. Godsmack soundtrack, running from the Dahaka. Great times and for me by far the best PoP game. That said, I am really looking forward to this new one as I love Metroidvanias too.
Honestly, I wish we could have more AAA platformers! This is one of my favorite genres to play. Especially if you combine it with some great story, environmental variety and awesome combat.
@@kingtumpus5046 I beat it twice, but could never quite get into Warrior Within, and never played the 3rd in the series that supposedly fixed a lot of WW issues. Tried to download it from Steam but could never get it to work.
I love that whole trilogy. My first one was Warrior Within but then I went back to play Sands and then the 3rd entry. I wish that HD trilogy was available outside the PS3.
Dude you absolutely just sold this game to me with the screenshot feature. I absolutely love this genre and one of my biggest annoyances is when I simply can't remember where an unreachable chest was that was hidden behind a certain mechanic and once I acquire the mechanic it takes me forever to find that place again. This screenshot feature sounds like a godsend.
I remember playing the old prince of percia games on my phone with a keypad. Those games were less than 200kb in size (Yes! KB) and I had hours of fun playing them. This gameplay brings back memories. Definitely going to buy it.
I’m loving this game so much right now ! If you like any metroidvania or prince of Persia game, go ahead and get this now. I got it on sale for $29.99 for the switch and it’s a bargain. Honestly it’s my game of the year so far!
dang, you should definitely try the other ones, this one is really a "modernized" Warrior Within and it's great. Even the old ones still play pretty good (graphic-wise they're atrocious lol, PS2 era)

I'm a huge PoP fan, I enjoyed SoT but Warrior within is where it really hooked with me. That and two thrones, I must of beaten 50 times over. And the second I saw this game announced, I was all for it. I played the demo, and I can tell it's gonna take me a minute to get used to the combat, but I think I'm gonna really enjoy it.
I'll definitely be buying this soon. The Prince of Persia series is one of my favorites and Sands of Time is one of my favorite games of all time. From the first trailer, I thought this looked to capture aspects of all the things I loved about it. It's awesome they put out a demo too. Played for a bit last night but had to put the kids to bed before I got too into it lol looking forward to trying it some more and playing the full game soon!
I’m so glad you guys liked it. Cuz I did this backwards. Seent it on the shelf. And said I’ll get it. Even tho I didn’t even know they were making a new one. Then I tried to look for a review and just bought it. So looking forward to jumping in probably once I’m done Jedi: Survivor.
I love all the Prince of Persia games. Sands of Time was just magical and I still have hopes for that Remake. The interaction between Farah and the Prince was something else. Amazing. I mean, the fact that I still have her name right at the top of my head all these years later speaks for itself. Talk about memorable characters in video games! I also really like the reboot with the cell shading look. They definitely tried new things back then.
I’m not a big fan of the Metroidvania genre but there is something with this one that really draws me in. Played the demo as well and I just want to play more, both the platforming and the combat just feels so good. Going with the deluxe edition so I can start playing Monday already, amazing start of 2024
As a complementary information about Immortal : The immortals was the royal army of Persian empire during the Achaemenid dynasty. they were one of the rare permanent corps of that era and always consist of exactly 10000 heavy infantry. Lots of stories are about them, the shared core is about an army of elite warriors who conquered almost all of their known world
The Lost Crown has reignited me to replay the 3d prince of persia games...Honestly, if you are fan of the metroidvania genre, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is easily a must buy..
@@D3th10rd i did hear they were about to release a PofP and didn't because it didn't look good and they held off, thought this was that. You can't beat some of those older games, they just beed cleaning up and not messing them up for the new platforms. I tell my daughter about games and she wants to play them now.
I remember playing the first Prince of Persia on my Amiga back in the days. Haven't played any of the newer games in the series so far. But I'm really hyped for The Lost Crown. Looks great and I love Metroidvanias. Gonna check out the demo later.
Had it on Amiga too! It’s cool they put it as an Easter egg on Sands of Time and remade on ps3.. I’m gonna skip the demo and wait for my preorder tho.. Saving for my vacation first week of Feb

"Broken" capture card but still got great quality gameplay of 'Prince of Persia' for a "Before You Buy".....the good, the bad......and people wonder why Gameranx is the best video games channel on TH-cam......capture great gameplay after the capture card breaks and give a honest, no bias review (even when you're bias).....Gameranx is the best!! I hate how many people instantly discount a game because its a different genre. The comments & the like/dislike ratio on the trailer for this game is insane. Alll dogging on the 2d camera. Same thing happened with midnight suns becusse it was a card-turnbased game instead of another ultimate alliance or marvels avengers game.
Everybody screams "we want something different" and then complains when they get something different it's mind boggling. I was for once excited for an Ubisoft title because it looked like the developers had more freedom than in other games I don't wanna play Far Cry 8.
Sands of time is my favorite one. This one I’m super excited about because I loved playing games like this growing up. Like the old castlevania games. I love seeing these type of games made modern like Nintendo did with Metroid dread.
Have fun, it's a great series. I would highly recommend The Sands of Time, I haven't played it since it first came out so I don't know how it holds up. Also the original DOS version is easily available to play for free and its pretty mind blowing if you're into old school games
I get all my games digitaly so it would be hard to sleep on it. Mind you, if i had it on disc i still wouldn't sleep on it as i might damage the disc!!! /s
This game has that nostalgic look to it for some reason. As someone who's played the playstation 2 era POP games, I wasn't sure about this one, but the 2D format is selling it for me. Also as a history nerd, another piece of media referencing the Kushan empire and other central asian ones is awesome, the last time I saw someone pulling from that region and culture was while reading Berserk

I'll be honest, and I love how Jake does this with his before you buy reviews, but all I needed to hear during that first 60 seconds, was "It's really great!" And that's because, although I appreciate details and breakdowns of mechanics and gameplay, when I'm already a fan or very interested in a game, I'm fine with just that initial overall description from a trusted reviewer/gamer
AC Odyssey, Far Cry New Dawn, Far Cry 5, Riders Republic, Crew Motorfest, Immortals Fenix Rising, NONE of these I would consider a 'long time' ago. And the only reason I didn't include Watch Dogs Legion is because I haven't played it, but the people I know who have enjoyed it

I'm also skeptical about this game when it was first announced, but i remember that Ubisoft also made Rayman Origins and Legends which i loves, and with your review, you make me really want to play it now.
Interesting enough, doesn't look like they are using UbiArt, the engine from Rayman, but jnstead Unity. I wonder why, because it does look exactly the same concepts there!!
Just added it to my backlog! I’ve never played a Prince of Persia game, but I like the art style and powers the protagonist has, so I’m looking forward to getting to it
I couldn’t get into the earlier series but I picked this up and it turned out to be an incredible game. I’m almost to the end on Immortal difficulty, a little over 30 hours in. I have played almost every major metroidvania game, the size of the map in this game was pretty impressive
So happy PoP is back. I look forward to a Witcher-Like or Dark Souls like PoP with a dark theme like Warrior Within. It could be great multi-verse idea for Ubisoft to connect the Assassins world to PoP as they are both from same genre and same location, Persia.
I'm an old school gamer (born in 1980 and started on the atari 2600), and I absolutely loved the original games in the PoP series! I will say that Sands of Time is probably my favorite, though. I played the demo (PS5), and now I can't wait for the release! I was skeptical at first (especially with the development issues), but with my limited playtime and your review (as well as another youtube channel) I'm truly sold at this point.
Similar here :) Just in case you were not aware, you can play thru the OG PoP on a browser (just google "princejs"), works on anything. Was playing it a bit last few nights in bed on an ipad. Kinda wild that it needed a big boxy PC decades ago and now a watch can run it lol
The two Prince of Persia games I remember the most are Sands of Time and the 2008 reboot. Sands is one of my all timers as well. It's got such great gameplay and an interesting story. Seems like Lost Crown is about the same, so I'm pretty stoked to play it. I think I remember the 2008 one mostly for the visuals. The look of that game was such a welcome change from the Hot Topic vibes of Warrior Within. I don't think I knew about Two Thrones until this video.
Get Two Thrones. It is the end of the trilogy started with Sands of Time and Warrior Within. Just make sure you've played, or at least seen, the real ending of WW.
There’s actually 4 games in the SOT series - I discovered The Forgotten Sands in the Microsoft store a few years ago, and loved it along with the rest in the series.
@@timloaderthe Wii version is different but it’s better than the Xbox version of Forgotten Sands. Watch some gameplay and you’ll be surprised but I loved it.
I am a huge fun of symphony of the night and this game is definitely my thing. Will play it for sure. Last game I played that is kinda of similar is ritual of night which I enjoyed a lot too.
Played and finished the demo today, it's really solid just a little disappointing that it cuts out before the first boss. With the demo and this video its definitely one I'll pick up after I work through my 2023 backlog. Metroid Vania feels like a perfect fit for Prince of Persia so I'm definitely looking forward to more from this version of the series.

I had no idea about this franchise or game, but I decided to pre-order it just like I do many others. This one I actually like it’s kind of like a beat em up with some puzzles, nothing that I need to actually do research on in order to pass. I’ve only been playing the game 45 minutes and I really like it so far. I have a huge backlog but I at least try to play some of the games when I get them to see if it’s something I’m even interested in, this one I like a lot. Graphics are good. The fighting is not super hard or super easy. It’s a little in the middle the boss on a horse that’s what I’m calling him anyway took me six or seven times to finally figure out how to beat him, but I did. I like these type of games they are easy to get into and learn. So glad I tried it and didn’t put it on my backlog ,first person shooters ,I enjoy. I just have a tendency of getting motion, sickness and a giant headache from most of them. I was pleasantly surprised with this game.
Great video Jake. I think the significance of this game for Iranians is that for once it has the Persian/Farsi language and subtitles embedded within it. For once Persians can play it in their own language!
not a big fan of metroidvania games, but i might just check this one out! Honestly, still waiting on the Prince of persia remake/remaster. they got a lot of the original team back on it last year and hopefully theyre able to do it justice!
The demo was so good that I immediately purchased the Deluxe Edition as soon as I finished it. I havent played a metroidvania since Shadow Complex and to see a PoP spin on the formula is a pleasant surprise.

So yeah after watching this video, I went and pre-ordered it. The demo was awesome loved the details about the lore. Sad to hear about the story but I wonder if I will feel differently either way, so excited for this game and I hope to watch more reviews from yo considering other titles I am interested in XD. Looking forward to the next video

my introduction to prince of persia series, was the very first original game, the one that came out before there was any windows, it was for DOS.. and NES I think. And it was 2D just like this one, only way more slow phased action, and most of the game was spent in a dungeon, then the palace for the final stage.
Old, old-school fan. I used to play the original on an IBM. It was primitive but it used an art style that would look pretty great even today. The same could be said for the original karateka (sp?)
This game reminds me of the OG prince of Persia platformer that I used to play as a kid. I had so much fun and grind with that game. It was one of the first games I ever played.
Just finished playing the demo. Even from that small sample size (it's actually a decent sized chunk for a demo) I can tell I will love this game. At first, I was put off by the price, £49.99 for a 2.5D side scrolling platform game, it seemed excessive to me, but I enjoyed it that much that I may actually get this one right away instead of waiting for it to hit a sale.
Uplay sales are kinda insane so that's why games are a bit inflated on the price i think. I've bought games with a pay 2 get 3 offer + a 75% off and another 10% with coins on the final price. There's a ton of good metroid you could get for a fraction of the price like blasphemous , ori , hollow knight or bloodstained. For platformers even rayman legends from ubi has insane value for the price. But ye if i had the money i'd get this one too.

The Warrior Within is and will always be my most favorite Prince Of Persia game ever. It has so many amazing combat mechanics, the story is SO AWESOME and they really made the Prince one hardcore warrior in that one as well too!! Really loved this Before You Buy here as well too though guys, awesome job as always!! Definitely will be keeping an eye out for this one!!
I played the 3 sands of time trilogy game, but my fav is PoP 2008, i really like the atmosphere, the art, the characters, even the "easyness" of the parkour was relaxing
Love me some prince of persia. I was expecting this to be linear like the old games but the fact it's a metroidvania is actually pretty sweet. Interesting we aren't the prince this time. Can't wait to see where this goes.
This is definitely a wait till it's out on game pass for me, I'm a little annoyed I have to have ubisoft account just to play their games to begin with, so going the extra mile to pay for it doesn't seem logical.
Old guy here, played the original on PC 30 something years ago and then fell in love again with Warrior Within. Played Hollow Knight earlier this year and I'm thinkin this'll be my next platformer. Looks great! There's just so much to play right now... I'll have to get back to it later :-D
What I don't get is... why call it PRINCE OF PERSIA? The concept of the game works well enough that you don't need to make it into a honeytrap for actual PoP fans. People who wanted another PRINCE OF PERSIA game, notably the Sands Trilogy like me, now have a game where you not only DON'T play as THE Prince, but it's not even about him and is about someone entirely separated from anything close to any Prince seen to date. There's no time travel, no Prince, nothing to really connect it to any prior game... all it has is a 2.5D side scroll like the throwback to the original game from Sands of Time. Why call it Prince of Persia? To piggyback off of namebrand recognition.

Honestly it could be implemented in bigger open world games too and things like Minecraft to have us always remember where things are as we explore.
It's also nice not having to look after the old screenshot on your console and try to remember where it was on the map

I just started replaying Sands Of Time. Man, what an incredible game. I forget sometimes just how well-paced it is.
That game is still near and dear to me. I think one of the first games I beat on the gamecube
@@kingtumpus5046 I beat it twice, but could never quite get into Warrior Within, and never played the 3rd in the series that supposedly fixed a lot of WW issues. Tried to download it from Steam but could never get it to work.
I love that whole trilogy. My first one was Warrior Within but then I went back to play Sands and then the 3rd entry. I wish that HD trilogy was available outside the PS3.
Dude you absolutely just sold this game to me with the screenshot feature. I absolutely love this genre and one of my biggest annoyances is when I simply can't remember where an unreachable chest was that was hidden behind a certain mechanic and once I acquire the mechanic it takes me forever to find that place again. This screenshot feature sounds like a godsend.
This is so much better than expected. I was sold when I watched Matty's review on retro rebound.
My wife and I loved the demo. It felt like the ori games for the platforming sections and the combat was very fluid.

I remember playing the old prince of percia games on my phone with a keypad. Those games were less than 200kb in size (Yes! KB) and I had hours of fun playing them. This gameplay brings back memories. Definitely going to buy it.

I'm a huge PoP fan, I enjoyed SoT but Warrior within is where it really hooked with me. That and two thrones, I must of beaten 50 times over. And the second I saw this game announced, I was all for it. I played the demo, and I can tell it's gonna take me a minute to get used to the combat, but I think I'm gonna really enjoy it.

I'll definitely be buying this soon. The Prince of Persia series is one of my favorites and Sands of Time is one of my favorite games of all time. From the first trailer, I thought this looked to capture aspects of all the things I loved about it. It's awesome they put out a demo too. Played for a bit last night but had to put the kids to bed before I got too into it lol looking forward to trying it some more and playing the full game soon!

I love all the Prince of Persia games. Sands of Time was just magical and I still have hopes for that Remake. The interaction between Farah and the Prince was something else. Amazing. I mean, the fact that I still have her name right at the top of my head all these years later speaks for itself. Talk about memorable characters in video games! I also really like the reboot with the cell shading look. They definitely tried new things back then.

I’m not a big fan of the Metroidvania genre but there is something with this one that really draws me in. Played the demo as well and I just want to play more, both the platforming and the combat just feels so good. Going with the deluxe edition so I can start playing Monday already, amazing start of 2024
Not all metroidvanias are the same. There is two main styles. One is the shooter style and one is the melee style. I like booth but not everyone will.
As a complementary information about Immortal : The immortals was the royal army of Persian empire during the Achaemenid dynasty. they were one of the rare permanent corps of that era and always consist of exactly 10000 heavy infantry. Lots of stories are about them, the shared core is about an army of elite warriors who conquered almost all of their known world

You can't beat some of those older games, they just beed cleaning up and not messing them up for the new platforms. I tell my daughter about games and she wants to play them now.
I remember playing the first Prince of Persia on my Amiga back in the days. Haven't played any of the newer games in the series so far. But I'm really hyped for The Lost Crown. Looks great and I love Metroidvanias. Gonna check out the demo later.

I hate how many people instantly discount a game because its a different genre. The comments & the like/dislike ratio on the trailer for this game is insane. Alll dogging on the 2d camera.
Same thing happened with midnight suns becusse it was a card-turnbased game instead of another ultimate alliance or marvels avengers game.
Everybody screams "we want something different" and then complains when they get something different it's mind boggling. I was for once excited for an Ubisoft title because it looked like the developers had more freedom than in other games I don't wanna play Far Cry 8.
Sands of time is my favorite one. This one I’m super excited about because I loved playing games like this growing up. Like the old castlevania games. I love seeing these type of games made modern like Nintendo did with Metroid dread.

Have fun, it's a great series. I would highly recommend The Sands of Time, I haven't played it since it first came out so I don't know how it holds up. Also the original DOS version is easily available to play for free and its pretty mind blowing if you're into old school games

This game has that nostalgic look to it for some reason. As someone who's played the playstation 2 era POP games, I wasn't sure about this one, but the 2D format is selling it for me. Also as a history nerd, another piece of media referencing the Kushan empire and other central asian ones is awesome, the last time I saw someone pulling from that region and culture was while reading Berserk

I couldn’t get into the earlier series but I picked this up and it turned out to be an incredible game. I’m almost to the end on Immortal difficulty, a little over 30 hours in. I have played almost every major metroidvania game, the size of the map in this game was pretty impressive
So happy PoP is back. I look forward to a Witcher-Like or Dark Souls like PoP with a dark theme like Warrior Within. It could be great multi-verse idea for Ubisoft to connect the Assassins world to PoP as they are both from same genre and same location, Persia.
I'm an old school gamer (born in 1980 and started on the atari 2600), and I absolutely loved the original games in the PoP series! I will say that Sands of Time is probably my favorite, though.
I played the demo (PS5), and now I can't wait for the release! I was skeptical at first (especially with the development issues), but with my limited playtime and your review (as well as another youtube channel) I'm truly sold at this point.

Just in case you were not aware, you can play thru the OG PoP on a browser (just google "princejs"), works on anything. Was playing it a bit last few nights in bed on an ipad. Kinda wild that it needed a big boxy PC decades ago and now a watch can run it lol

The two Prince of Persia games I remember the most are Sands of Time and the 2008 reboot. Sands is one of my all timers as well. It's got such great gameplay and an interesting story. Seems like Lost Crown is about the same, so I'm pretty stoked to play it. I think I remember the 2008 one mostly for the visuals. The look of that game was such a welcome change from the Hot Topic vibes of Warrior Within. I don't think I knew about Two Thrones until this video.
Get Two Thrones. It is the end of the trilogy started with Sands of Time and Warrior Within. Just make sure you've played, or at least seen, the real ending of WW.
2008 one was such a unique game. Just the vistas that would open up while you were platforming were so awe inspiring.
There’s actually 4 games in the SOT series - I discovered The Forgotten Sands in the Microsoft store a few years ago, and loved it along with the rest in the series.

@@timloaderthe Wii version is different but it’s better than the Xbox version of Forgotten Sands. Watch some gameplay and you’ll be surprised but I loved it.
I am a huge fun of symphony of the night and this game is definitely my thing. Will play it for sure. Last game I played that is kinda of similar is ritual of night which I enjoyed a lot too.
Played and finished the demo today, it's really solid just a little disappointing that it cuts out before the first boss. With the demo and this video its definitely one I'll pick up after I work through my 2023 backlog.
Metroid Vania feels like a perfect fit for Prince of Persia so I'm definitely looking forward to more from this version of the series.

I had no idea about this franchise or game, but I decided to pre-order it just like I do many others. This one I actually like it’s kind of like a beat em up with some puzzles, nothing that I need to actually do research on in order to pass. I’ve only been playing the game 45 minutes and I really like it so far. I have a huge backlog but I at least try to play some of the games when I get them to see if it’s something I’m even interested in, this one I like a lot. Graphics are good. The fighting is not super hard or super easy. It’s a little in the middle the boss on a horse that’s what I’m calling him anyway took me six or seven times to finally figure out how to beat him, but I did. I like these type of games they are easy to get into and learn. So glad I tried it and didn’t put it on my backlog ,first person shooters ,I enjoy. I just have a tendency of getting motion, sickness and a giant headache from most of them. I was pleasantly surprised with this game.
Great video Jake. I think the significance of this game for Iranians is that for once it has the Persian/Farsi language and subtitles embedded within it. For once Persians can play it in their own language!

The demo was so good that I immediately purchased the Deluxe Edition as soon as I finished it. I havent played a metroidvania since Shadow Complex and to see a PoP spin on the formula is a pleasant surprise.

So yeah after watching this video, I went and pre-ordered it. The demo was awesome loved the details about the lore. Sad to hear about the story but I wonder if I will feel differently either way, so excited for this game and I hope to watch more reviews from yo considering other titles I am interested in XD. my introduction to prince of persia series, was the very first original game, the one that came out before there was any windows, it was for DOS.. and NES I think. And it was 2D just like this one, only way more slow phased action, and most of the game was spent in a dungeon, then the palace for the final stage.
Old, old-school fan. I used to play the original on an IBM. It was primitive but it used an art style that would look pretty great even today. The same could be said for the original karateka (sp?)
This game reminds me of the OG prince of Persia platformer that I used to play as a kid. I had so much fun and grind with that game. It was one of the first games I ever played.

Just finished playing the demo. Even from that small sample size (it's actually a decent sized chunk for a demo) I can tell I will love this game.
At first, I was put off by the price, £49.99 for a 2.5D side scrolling platform game, it seemed excessive to me, but I enjoyed it that much that I may actually get this one right away instead of waiting for it to hit a sale.
Uplay sales are kinda insane so that's why games are a bit inflated on the price i think.
I've bought games with a pay 2 get 3 offer + a 75% off and another 10% with coins on the final price.
There's a ton of good metroid you could get for a fraction of the price like blasphemous , ori , hollow knight or bloodstained. For platformers even rayman legends from ubi has insane value for the price.
But ye if i had the money i'd get this one too.

The Warrior Within is and will always be my most favorite Prince Of Persia game ever. It has so many amazing combat mechanics, the story is SO AWESOME and they really made the Prince one hardcore warrior in that one as well too!! Really loved this Before You Buy here as well too though guys, awesome job as always!! Definitely will be keeping an eye out for this one!!

I grew up with PoP on the Amiga and I just played the demo, I can't believe ubisoft finally made a good game.

Love me some prince of persia. I was expecting this to be linear like the old games but the fact it's a metroidvania is actually pretty sweet. Interesting we aren't the prince this time. Can't wait to see where this goes.
This is definitely a wait till it's out on game pass for me, I'm a little annoyed I have to have ubisoft account just to play their games to begin with, so going the extra mile to pay for it doesn't seem logical.

Old guy here, played the original on PC 30 something years ago and then fell in love again with Warrior Within. Played Hollow Knight earlier this year and I'm thinkin this'll be my next platformer. Looks great! There's just so much to play right now... I'll have to get back to it later :-D
What I don't get is... why call it PRINCE OF PERSIA? The concept of the game works well enough that you don't need to make it into a honeytrap for actual PoP fans. People who wanted another PRINCE OF PERSIA game, notably the Sands Trilogy like me, now have a game where you not only DON'T play as THE Prince, but it's not even about him and is about someone entirely separated from anything close to any Prince seen to date. There's no time travel, no Prince, nothing to really connect it to any prior game... all it has is a 2.5D side scroll like the throwback to the original game from Sands of Time.
Why call it Prince of Persia? To piggyback off of namebrand recognition.
