Tavarish. You guys should cut off the back end of dora the explorer and make it look like a pick up truck and then put some roll bars in the back so it looks like a trophy truck
Can we all agree that it’s awesome how the just married print is still riding high! Been a follower for quite awhile (collectively on both channels) and still look forward to the vids so, 👍🏽🇺🇸great job and thanks for the everyday commitment and genuine care for your minions. Nicole thanks for being so supportive of your love bug and allowing him to as well as pushing to steadily pursue his dreams and allowing us to ride along🎁
B IS FOR BUILD!! I've been watching Adam since early 2014, then the supercar suspects at 12k, and dash way back in 2011 along with Kevin lasean. It's cool to grow up with these channels
Hey Adam, glad you figured it out. It's always gratifying to diagnose a problem and have it be a simple solution. You ought to add a coolant pressure tester to your toolbox, you'll use it again i promise. They make universal fittings for the stant type testers which are like big rubber blocks. You tighten up a wingnut and it presses out the rubber to seal the filler neck. Anyways, keep up the good work!
You could always just block test your coolant for a blown head gasket. Much quicker and easier than pulling all the plugs and checking compression. You'll get an immediate answer. The kits are available everywhere.
You were right about the head gasket. At the shop I work at the best way we have found to troubleshoot a head gasket is by looking for air in the coolant. Instead of the funnel method, take the overflow hose (the one from by the radiator cap) and put it into a water bottle full of water. Keeping the radiator cap on lets the car build up to operating pressure and temperature which is a more realistic test of the engine. Once the engine is warmed up, if any bubbles are showing up in your bottle, you know the head gasket is blown. Sometimes they will only leak when on throttle or right after releasing the throttle, so mess with that while testing. As for the Exploder, I've been throwing around the idea of a drift Chevy Blazer. I've found a couple 2 door, 2wd, big V6, 5 speed trucks for stupid low prices around me, but I feel like I should spend the money on a "normal" drift car to learn to drift first, before attempting to drift something like an SUV...
Top tip. Alloy parts break from not doing them up evenly. An SR golden rule. Always change those pesky water pipes when u have the chance. Live an learn. Love the vids man. Also glad u can now experience a legit SR. That thing Friken rips. 👊🏻💯
Adam, the system being under pressure with that rad cap is what raises the boiling temp of that coolant. Running the car for a while with that funnel might not be allowing that coolant to get hot enough to open the thermostat. You might even have a bad rad cap thats not holding enough pressure
Adam, have you heard of using an Airlift to fill your cooling system? I work in the automotive industry and it saves tons of time filling cooling systems. It pulls a vacuum on the system to prevent air pockets plus lets you know if you have a leak. Super easy to use and available on Amazon for cheap! Part # 550000. Love the content!
0:34 You actually should never start an engine with the clutch depressed, because you are forcing the crankshaft to the timing belt/chain side, which is a huge stress for the axial bearing of the crankshaft. Especially if you run a stronger pressure plate.
Technically correct, but then plenty of manufacturers tell you to press the clutch when starting and plenty more cars won't even let you crank it over without your foot on the pedal soo....
Adam you can't escape the SR curse. I just rewatched Adam first drift event video and it opens with the same things: few hours of sleep and SR overheathing and radiator bleeding. Perseverence is key in the SR life. But that idle sound just make it so damn cool. Keep your head down and power through!
Yes you are right about the Check Valve in the Thermostat. It should always in the most vertical position as possible, not matter what car make or model. Since air will always go to the highest point. So even if the thermostat is closed fully, any air rising from the engine side of the cooling system will pass through the closed thermostat, find its way to the Rad, and eventually get pushed to the header tank.
If you read any instructional on SR20 rebuilds online they say to replace the heater hoses whilst the motor is out because its very difficult to get to when the motor is in the car. I have done it on my SR but it wasn't easy, its a remove intake manifold, starter and alternator type of deal. You can buy kits of Silicone heater hoses that are much less prone to failure.
I stopped watching your vids beacsue they felt short an on the same topic I love the change of how at once your working on your car then getting coffee an then riding the track an then doing many other things keep up the good work 🤘🤘
Always wanted to go to that track. Next time I'm in Florida. When it comes to tightening small bolts like that, best to air on the side of caution and always use hand tools and hand tight. I know you'll get it sorted out soon, you've found the source of the leaks and a block in the passageway-- I don't think your gasket cooked quite yet.
I love that the driver was giving his own pace notes while adam was riding along, seemed very backwards lol. Adam it sucked that your housing snapped but at least it did it here instead of when you were at your next big event that you spent a ton of money and time on. Happy the the SR isnt blown!
Two suggestions one always pressure check your engine cold like first thing in the morning number two when I used to go circle track racing down thermostats were giving us a hard time so we learn a lot of the circle track racers will using a washer and we would drill all different size hole in washers and dryer which one would work the best to keep the proper engine temperature at all time
I think the have house around E-Town because almost everyone over there has race cars. Also you can't really hear anything from the main road. there's only a few houses on raceway drive. I've only been on the otherside where the other dirt track is once so I can't remember how far you drive till you see houses. I do remember them being very nice. A lot more upscale than the area by the wawa.
HaHa Too Slow raceway park gives free tickets to the locals as compensation you just have to inquire to their offices a couple weeks in advance for any event
I'd do a leak down test, from what I saw on engine start video, you fuel washed cylinders. Rings did not seat as good, thus low numbers. Leak down test should be sub 5% on new engine. First 25miles are key in break in, putting load on motor to seat rings. Run it as is, or just get the block rehoned etc. Cheap trick to pressurize system, if you have air compressor, blow gun nozzle into radiator neck vac. hose low psi.
DUDE SLEEP! You need it man, one day it's going to catch up too you and that's not good for anyone :(. There is no such thing as "catching up on sleep" its a day by day cycle. If you miss it one day it will go with too the next day and the next, but if you sleep 12 hours then it only goes with out for 24 hours then its gone. Just seen you not getting much sleep and I know what it can do buddy. Love the videos, also love the LZ seat and bars i got from the site. Keep up the good work, watch you every day. Much Love. Tom
A tip to see if you have a blown head gasket or not : Most of the time the coolant and the oil mixes up in the engine and if you just check the oil dipstick and its color will tell you the result.
If it's a small leak of compression, turning it over till it gets to max can mislead you as it will still build decent cylinder pressure. Using a coolant system pressure tester while running will tell you, the coolant system will build pressure from the combustion leak and you'll see pulsation on the guage generally. Also pull the plugs and pressure test to 20-30psi and check cylinders and oil pan for water -turn the engine over after pulling the fuel pump fuse. You're going to have very high cylinder pressure at 20psi+ 5000rpm, may not show up when the cars just idling at a stable temp, keep that in mind. Combustion pressure in the coolant will overheat the car and prevent cool down too. Cut the "jiggle valve" (that little thing in the thermostat hile out of the thermostat body and enlarge the whole slightly, install this at the top of the housing, this will reduce air locks, allow you to bleed better and also supply some coolant flow if your thermostat jams and hopefully save the engine if you catch it in time if it ever does, good for a track car. Hope this helps anyone out there, applies to all petrol cars. Ex automotive guy and diesel fitter / pretengineer. 😀
Great video! When will you have another open house man!? No kidding I have my week off of work the first week of March and I’m fully committed to going down to Florida! Greetings from mesquite NM
If there is water in the cylinder, the compression tests are going to be a lot higher than they really are......Head gasket will also turn your oil mueky, which you can see when you pull your dipstick out
You can't tell a bad head gasket by compression testing Napa sells a block tester kit that has fluid that will change to a green if you have a bad head gasket the color change happens from exhaust gases hitting the fluid and you will also notice small bubbles
This was a lot of fun! Glad you came along!
Tavarish I’m glad you came.

Bruh *Dora the Explorer* drifted way better than I thought it would.
For real. Thought it was gonna be better at rolling than sliding.
That was also dirt not pavement
probably wont drift on pavement without coilovers, slimmer tires and some extra power. Atm will just throw and roll probably
Sam i
It was also dirt so it is way easier to drift
lmao you could tell Chris wanted to get out of the Explorer before he died from a rollover ;D
no lie there, when he went off and we slid into the pavement i got legit worried
B is for Build lmao
B is for Build and r is for race ;)
Which Chris???

YEP was thinking same thing before it happened lmao
How did he not expect this??
He really has no clue. Always something with him
This is a hack. Giving people something to see and View
It’s a SR...It’s always going to give you problems fool
I don’t know why but I burst out at the TJ joke😂
Rush a build they said, nothing will happen they said.
Wasn’t expecting Adam to be drifting an explorer but never mind great vid 😂

*Something falls of the Explorer*
Adam: “What was that?”
Owner: “Aah doesn’t matter.”
That was awesome with you and Tavarish and B is for Build! I would love to see more of that!
Thanks for coming out man! Next time im in florida we will do some proper drifting in proper cars.
i love chris, *loud clang* adam: “what was that”, chris: “doesn’t matter!”

Destin Ginnis exploder?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
yea right that things a pile.
JoshTheGamer 1021 People call Ford Explorers, "Ford Exploders" because of their tendency to roll over and explode.
Shona that makes more sense.
The Firm is an awesome place, every time I've made a video there something crazy always happens!
See you this weekend :D
Adam you should get a vacuum coolant filler
Adam, have you heard of using an Airlift to fill your cooling system? I work in the automotive industry and it saves tons of time filling cooling systems. You can buy a test tube with liquid you put over the radiator opening. The color changes from blue to green if it detects combustion gasses.
Dora gets down!!!! Never thought I’d see a B is for Build crossover lol. Good stuff man!
Holy shit Adam! The firm was the first actual drift track I've been to ever! Super cool to see you drift somewhere I've been such as road atl
Fek tj hunt.. Keeps breaking stuff

Sarah you think your subaru 2.5 sounds good? 4 cylinders sound bad. It would be best if you have 4 cylinders on both sides of the motor.

Whole different beast, and, IMO, a much more difficult sport, not to mention much, much more dangerous.

Adam really makes himself at home with other peoples cars huh 😂
OC Abarth i was just thinking that lmao master of the #scumbag.
OC Abarth They're drift cars man thats how they are meant to be used
Riley Scott I know bro 👍🏻 just joking lol
OC Abarth well at least he has the money to replace anything he breaks
Cory Unferferth cool
@Adam, cut the little thing in the thermostat. You were right it was the wrong way, but also remove it
you drove right past my house, saw the area on the way to the Firm and though "huh that looks familiar"
Cant wait to get a drift car and start going out to all these events Adam goes to. Fingers crossed itll be pretty soon!
dude, I've broken a thermostat housing on my '99 miata too. i was putting it back together, tightening it, and boom, snapped. i was piiiisssseeeddd

Radiator caps can go bad as well, we've chased that problem before on track cars with old radiators.
hot on one side cold on the other is a circulation issue. blockage somewhere or bad water pump.
Goddammit all Tj’s fault ... Again!! 😂
Awesome videos would love to see an update on all the cars soon!!
you should pick up a block tester from your local napa to keep on hand. its great for checking for blown head gasket.
Noooo...not the head gasket!!
2JZ THE WORLD
Isn’t that rally course where the Roadkill guys filmed the general mayhem charger??
Adam you were ripping that Dora for real!
Funny you say that because Raceway Park decided close their drag racing operation today. Luckily, Club Loose and drifting will continue though!
you know just a nice meme for ur boi Tj
Drove my first rally car here on my birthday, really fun!
i just came from b is for build episode. looks like tomorrow episode is out. hope to see more colaboration.
why don't delete the thermostat? doing that you keep the engine waaay cooler!
love your videos!! hello from Costa Rica!
Are you going to be at Sebring on the 22nd for the TH-camr challenge with Rob?
Lmao Calvin broke the exact same part at the same spot.
