Got my Second Sight deluxe box last year. My favorite horror movie ever. It sits proudly on my shelf next to my framed promo photo signed by Romero and Argento.
I wish I could of at least met Argento or Romero. My mother however visited Dario's "Profondo Rosso" store in Italy and got to meet Luigi Cozzi - I have a few things autographed by him.
I’m just really glad this movie is now available again, since it was out of print for years! Now if only we could get some more OOP titles re-released (such as Braindead/Dead Alive)
It's not available in America. So people can't even rent it. Richard Rubinstien owns the American rights to it. And he will not lend it out. Supposedly he spent a fortune on a 3d version of it and is waiting for a buyer.
This is the only movie I ever walked out on in a theatre. Not because it was bad but because I`d never been exposed that level of gore. I grew up watching the Hammer films but this was on another level . I`ve since re-watched & enjoyed it but the first viewing was very unsettling.
I did the same, I didn't pick up the limited edition "Dawn of the Dead" because I knew of the standard 4K release was gonna be more affordable and have the same content except for the 3 soundtrack CDs that I didn't care about. Dawn of the Dead has been one of my favorite movies of all time. would love to see a "The Warriors" come out on 4K.
This is definitely on my list! I pre-ordered Indiana jones 4k steelbook collection, hopefully the transfer on those are great! Well at least the first 3! 4th may have some dnr because of the CG
Hmmm, I might wait for a domestic 4K release. I know it’s not super common for there to be a difference domestic and import-wise, but perhaps there will be improvements and/or corrections made in the picture and audio for a domestic release.
@@chocolatebleu884, I personally don’t mind the art design itself. It’s pretty much the standard, popularized artwork most associated with the movie, and will probably in some way, shape, or fashion, end up being the art design for any possible domestic release. I’d just rather support a domestic release (most likely cheaper, possible tweaks made such as Dolby Atmos, etc.). I don’t mind the wait. I have the DVD box set from several years ago that will suffice for now.
@@sleepcrime, I’m patient. I don’t mind waiting. I’m sure it’ll happen eventually-it’s too major of a cult classic for something to not get worked out regarding rights and to not eventually get a domestic release.
@@CharlieD.706 yeah, they made the cover very dubious and fooled me. Good news is I didn't own it yet. Didn't realize Dawn of the Dead original was a rare release.
Adam another great review of yours i have both sets UHD + BR/CD but whyyyyyyy did you review... the worst (US) cuts instead of the world famous ARGENTO CUT? Even the music score of the US Cut is realy awfull

@@nothere6991 I imported this Second Sight version from the UK.
@@SamLovesMovies25 I just bought mine from Australia on Amazon hopefully it’s legit 🙏🏻😂
I believe all the non 4K discs including the extras are region “B” locked so beware if you buy and don’t have an all region player.
Got lucky to own the limited edition & having it to ship here to America on the Amazon UK site
Still have this great version untouched and in shrink-wrap, getting it ready for my 4K TV to be installed.
How was it?
@@vb8428 Still waiting for a Cabinet unit to arrive - then its all go.
Watched this with DTS Neural X and in my opinion it made it sound more natural . it was on Denon AVR.
Got mine from Zavii! Looks so good! Great review.

Thanks for sharing your reminisce. It made me smile. It’s quite something to imagine someone back in the day experiencing DOD new.

Another great video, thanks a lot mate I will be purchasing dawn of the dead.
Can't find it on Amazon. . .
This is definitely on my list!

I purchased both the special and standard edition from Diabolik DVD here in the states.
Can you watch it on a U.S. region code 4K player? OR is that even a thing? Sometimes Blu-rays from overseas don’t work on U.S. region.
4K discs are generally region free with just a few exceptions.
The special features disc is a region B locked blu-ray disc tho.
Great review as always and so is the movie! Also U should review Zombie 1979 from fulci which also has a fantastic 4k release from blue underground
What is this region the UK or Australian
Wish they could've updated the audio
Yeah they should have done a Dolby Atmos track.
This movie is great !!! Comes in three different versions, I also ordered it from zavvi, best purchase I’ve made !!! Awesome review!!
Ordered it off of Rarewaves and can't wait to watch it! 🧟🧟♀️🧟♂️

There's no current US distributor willing to pay what the rights holder is asking. Unlikely to happen soon.
Same. I could wait. I find the 4k art design on the cover fucking awful anyways

Got the 4K version. Had to have this although blu rays are region B 😫
Why the hell are they still locking Blurays when 4Ks aren't? 😤
@@paulconway384 Exactly. The blu rays I can’t use. Pathetic they would do that
Still can’t find this. Not even the blu-ray
Amazon UK has it in stock
I picked up mine from Zavvi US.
@@tyfields8158 thanks but special features on the Blu-ray are region B. Needs a US release with Atmos. I have all the cuts on DVD.
You need to import it. I got mine from Rarewaves.
Absolutely love this film :)
I guess I'll settle for Shout's Blu-ray release. I hadn't replaced my 3-Disc DVD copy, yet
The shout release is the remake though right?

I want them all lol. The addiction is real.
Definitely buying this classic Zombie horror Masterpiece when it finally arrives 🧟♀️🧟♀️🧟♀️
Awesome👏🏻😎🤩!
Hope they found a way to tint the pink dayglow blood so it actually looks deep red like real blood.

Argento cut doesn’t have HDR with its 4K. The Theatrical version is the best in PQ on this release.
