It is always so massively annoying to see people drive this car wrong and then assume, that is just all it can give. You don't shift in 6th gear if you want to accelerate or drive fast. You stay in 5th. The 6th is an economy gear, meant to keep a relative constant speed with less fuel consumption. Even big car testers got that wrong and then just assumed that around 190 on the dash is the max speed. GPS measured it can get to around 215km/h if you keep that in mind which is around 230 to 240 on your dashboard. My personal record was 220 with slight downhill, and speedometer at around 250, again still in 5th gear.
You made a good point. But keep in mind that I had this car available for video only for 2 hours. So I only had one shot. And as you could see, if there would have been more road to go and less traffic I could have reached more speed even in 6th gear.
@@NoSpeedLimitGermany I am not saying that to call you out, just as a statement, that if you know that, that pretty much every video from small youtubers up to big press outlets, does it. And as information, to let watchers know, that the car can go slightly faster than seen here.
Oh.. gps measured vs car dashboard... i got the same car for 5 yrs and it shows 5-10km/h higher than gps tracker. Was thinking to show this error to a mechanic as it may also increase the total km count faster. So it is the same in all 2011-15 astras? Because I had the chance to drive 2023 astra last month and the speed on dashboard was EXACT same as google maps gps speed. That made me think my astra J was broken...
@@onrcnbgnts I don't know if they can adjust that in service, I think at least for me it varied a lot, especially the first five years it showed way too much. over 10km/h at around 100km/h, at my top speed run where I got 220 on my handheld navigation device the needle was around 250. In the later years it got a lot better. I never changed the wheel or tire size over all but summer and winter tires where different sizes. Maybe I just drove it with lower tire preassure in the earlier years, or something else. But in the end, yes 5km/h to 10km/h to high can be normal.
Ne ho avute 2 nuove, uguali in 4 anni. Auto splendida da guidare, comoda e ottima tenuta di strada. Per tutti i giorni e per la possibilità di carico ottimi ne voglio comprare una con motore 180 Hp.
I figured it out, it's a chainsaw on wheels. From 180km/h it accelerates millimetrically, I suspect that at high speeds it consumes a little less than a 1.8 or 2.0t. With great difficulty he managed to catch up with that minivan from the beginning.
Thanks for this video, but that engine has a problem. Astra are famous for their incredible top speeds, with 140 PS it should go around 220 km/h on a flat road
It should've said 200Nm in the description but it's also not completely wrong, there is a short term overboost all of them should have it and that gives 220Nm for a short duration, wide open throttle and it will last 10-15 seconds then revert back to 200Nm of torque. Basically car gets around 10hp more in that short duration. Good for better 0-100 or overtaking but can't be sustained long term.
@@Player_-lu5kh It's not, turbo wastegate is controlled by ECU via solenoid, boost pressure can be adjusted and that is exactly what happens and why it's called overboost during those 10-15 seconds.
Intake Manifold and Valve cover goes out pretty fast, Turbo problems (Actuator, Vacuum, Pipes). Common fault p0299 Turbo Underboost Pressure, which means you need to change intake manifold (check valve goes kaput) or the diaphragm in the valve cover. Gearbox whine in 3rd and 4th.
95600km 2017 model B14NET motor with non-production LPG injection. Only problems i got are Catalytic Converter dead(Because of the Turbo+LPG combination causing heat) Water distributor cover (the plastic one leaked water) and costs about 25-30$ EVAP valve costs about 30$ too That's all. I'm fully satisfied with 200 on the clock with a nice economic 1.4 NET engine

I had borrowed the same station astra with different rims and 1.7 diesel engine with 110 hp. It's very comfort for trips and the torque appears.

This isnt a sports car, if you wanted a sports car, you couldve gotten the Astra OPC
