The Root Cause of Carelessness

Alertness is being aware of what is taking place around me so I can have the right responses. The reason why someone can be careless is not that he does not pay attention but he is paying too much attention to himself until he neglects the "signals" of what is going on around him! The root cause of carelessness is not an inability to perform but rather an unwillingness to be alert.
