I agree with the choking theory. Points that are great from the video:
    1) The distraction theory suggests that the performace suffers when the mind is preoccupied with worries, doubts, or fears, instead of focusing its attention on performing the task at hand.
    2) We usually need to perfom actions subconsciously, instead of looking at the precise details.
    3) We need to practice under stressful conditions. We must be accustomed to pressure.
    4) We need to extol the virtues of a pre-performance routine, like taking deep breaths, repeating a cue word, or doing a rhythmic sequence of movements.
Points that I'd like to add here to address stressful situations:
    1) We shouldn't ask "What If?", cause that will make us to panic.
    2) We must stay positive in the situation.
    3) We must make jokes. By making jokes, we don't take everything seriously.
    4) No mater whatever we do, we should remember that this isn't so bad.
    5) We must have some trust on external or internal things.

There's a manager at work who is fine when not in front of a crowd (where he has to speak every day in small shift meetings). When he has to talk, he _sounds_ fine. His voice is smooth, but his hands are shaking.
I admire his courage to face that level of nerves on a daily basis. It's worse when we have the big, all-store meetings and he's in front of hundreds. He gets up, does his part, but his hands tremble so badly, I wonder what it feels like in his heart...

Hello there, just wanted to share my experiences with failing driving tests multiple times which brought me to this video. I have an anxiety disorder which is getting worse, I have been at the hospital a few times this month due to unknown cause of pain that has been bothering me for years. Anyways, driving has always been a skill I knew I"ll be good at and love it but when it came to tests (final tests, on the road) I panicked and failed 3 times. I made mistakes I have never made on my driving lessons which shooked me and my instructor. I was just to overwhelmed with fear of failure, school, finals and other personal problems. After every test I have failed my confidence just kept falling down to the ground. I have a test this week after being sick for a solid month. I can't let stress overwhelm me so I will try to keep my mind on the end goal, not the performance and details. Thank you for this video. If somebody who read this has some other advice I would love to hear it.

Things i do When ever im in pressure
    1. Take deep breathes and be present in the moment
    2. Just have the practiced things in my mind other than that nothing else
3.calm down and improvise when needed
    4.focus on my goal
5.stay positive and always think that you can do it (this is so imp cause it gives u a mental boost)

I agree with the fact that when you start thinking about something which you can do with muscle memory/subconsciously, you choke. I play the piano, and I always learn a song in a way that it is in my muscle memory so that I don't make mistakes. Whenever my coach asks me to play the song, or if somebody else is seeing me play, I just start thinking about what I am playing and mess up everything.
Loved this video, it was very helpful.

I’m a literally a person who fails right when it matters most. I hadn’t known the reason but this video told me. I hadn’t practice under stress environment to perform better. The “choking” phenomenon beat on me so I try to take a few deep breaths, repeat a cue word, and do a rhythmic sequence of movements. Those routine works help me to jump into stressful practice.

Exactly. I once wrote a math contest without being informed that it was a really important contest and did really well. But when I practiced for months for another contest, I forgot everything once I got there and did poorly. That’s why I make myself believe that tests are merely homework exercises and take them with a casual mindset.

I still remember how I got thrown into an extemporaneous speech contest back in 9th grade (actually it was just last last year lol). The teacher in charge gave a speech, advices and all. Throughout his whole speech was a quote, *"Grace under pressure."* And somewhat it came to me. Just act as if you're explaining to a friend, to a classmate on that certain topic. You don't have to delve into it too much.

I can't express myself properly if I focus on what I am about to say, I forget the choreography because I'm thinking about the next stepping, and I mess up when I think about how the other people look at me.
