- My French Mondain need a little help. They have been laying infertile eggs despite mating; their feathers are getting in the way. In this video I will show you how to trim these bird's tail and vent feathers.

Very good video, another method that works along with the trimming is to lower their protein in the feed less pease pellets and add more wheat, basically slim them down a bit on weight=more babies.

That thing is huge
I ended up mixing these with another few breeds and creating my own monster. I hope to show them off in a video soon. They breed much better than the French Mondain and haven't lost much size. :)

Why did it do that? No well versed in pigeons, sorry.
Ryn birds nearly never regurgitate or vomit, the only times I’ve seen it happen in my veterinary years is when they are sick or stressed.

A toeless sock slipped over their head would go a long way toward helping control them while you're trimming them and such.

It was dribbling water since I had just fed and watered them. A little pressure on a full crop will do that :)
That's the biggest pigeons I've ever seen.
Do you have other utility breeds in mind for the future?
The main breeds I keep now are Texas pioneers, my own breed of Mondain x Kings, and Carneau (the smaller heritage type). :)

I want to buy but I live in Michigan
A lot of breeders will ship birds if that is something you may consider. I do not have any french mondain anymore since I was looking for a utility bird to produce meat, but I'm sure you could find a breeder. Pigeons require a special box and shipping prices are quite high. Might be worth it though if you are set on a special breed like this :)
