I dont miss feeding baby pigeons. I volunteered at a wildlife rehab and that was a major part of my duties.

They do if you provide them with extra light to artificially extend the day time.

I have two pigeons on my balcony that have had round the clock care from both parents. Since yesterday both parents have been absent. I’m worried they will starve. They are 11 days old and quite robust looking compared to Larry.

Good job lady.i fed my baby pigeon with a ballon .you just put the feed inside a party ballon and make a small hole on its side and baby pigeon put its beak inside the whole and eat the food.

Did baby pigeons ( around two weeks) they need water or just the food , I found mine one week ago and I gave him like 4 to 5 cc!it’s that ok?

Hi. My cat brought a young pigeon in that had fell from its nest.
We have none of these.. Is it ok to use porridge oats mixed with water (mixed in blender) ok in a very small bottle? It sometimes gets bubbles popping through its nose when I try. Help 😅
that should be fine! just be sure they dont get too much salt or sugar in their diet.
@@brendethedev2858 Ah ok. I'll no next time 🙂 But unfortunately it didn't make the second night 😟 I hope I didn't accidentally block its airways with the way I was feeding it. Apparently pigeon's stomach tube is to the right? I'm not sure but when I was feeding it, bubble were popping from its nose

@@brendethedev2858 Yeah we blended it with a little bit of water. Not sure if it was too filling for it
@@derya94b could have been. Depends on how young it was but super young birds need a special milk made from the mother
The one I'm hand raising is 7 days old and hes much more active then this one and has feathers starting to appear

sorry this is coming late, but let me answer your questions in a bit of a backward way... the pigeon being full isn't really as important as letting it almost completely empty before you feed it again. The babe will be full enough when it sits comfortably and has a bit of pillowing to each side of it's neck. Hard to judge, but again the emptying is more important than the complete filling. I wish there were answers here as ae just have found a pigeon ice cold egg on the ground and while I know now how to care for the egg and see if it was still viable, I am frantically trying to prepare in case it hatches.

I have been feeding a pidgeon for about 3 weeks .he is not going as well as he was a week ago .i fear i may have gotten food in his lungs .what can i do .
I hand raised a pigeon and he is now 2 months old. He eats no seeds but still the nutribird A19. He pecks the seeds but can't hold them in his mouth and cant swallow them. If I put the seeds in his mouth myself and he swallows, he vomits after a few hours or the day after and the seeds are not digested. I don't know what the problem is, why he can't eat by himself, why he vomits and why the seeds are not digested!! Do you have any advice for me please? I'm having a really hard time with him.
I'm so sorry this reply is coming so late! One of the harder parts of hand raising these babes is teaching them to eat on their own. Usually they have other birds to watch and learn from. I hope your little one got past this stage now and is doing well!

How cold is outside?
My birds breed all year long. I'm in Wisconsin so if my birds aren't good parents in the winter or a freak accident happens like a baby tumbling out of the nest, I can loose babies to the cold weather.

looks way too small and underdeveloped for 2 weeks old. probably gonna be quite smaller than average bird his breed.
Crop milk is a huge factor in squab development.
