Everyone thinks that astas true power is anti magic but people who watch black clover know it’s to never give up but veterans know it’s callled astas greatest power plot
But anti magic is more important. Without it he's just a average person with very less magic. He can't defeat lucifero only with his ability of not giving up.

Yes, it had potential, like for example I think they should have dropped that demon inside the grimoire thing and have Asta has anti magic as his ability and use the demon dweller sword more, like licht used it
The animation isnt the problem. All the problems are solved by "fight harder". Not a single tought in their minds. A guy with anti magic in a magic focused world sounds like an amazing idea, but making Asta dumb really forced the fights to be all terrible. If they made him capable of thinking they could have written some good fights
