As someone who never got to play the OG SM64, this looks so fun to control and play, looking for secrets/shortcuts. I can see why people speed run the game. Mario Odyssey is my favorite game on Switch so I’m sure this 3D collection will be a blast!

Idk dang, that’s a heck of an opinion lol. I like odyssey more than galaxy and galaxy 2, but sunshine and 64 are more fun imo.
Idk I liked Galaxy a lot, probably will even more on the switch without motion controls. Sunshine was good too. Galaxy2 was my least favorite. G2 does have an amazing final boss level (but lackluster final boss).
I am definitely going to enjoy 3D All Stars, as well as 3D World on Switch! 3d open world/platforming is my favorite!

I literally bought 3D all stars specifically for Sunshine. I don't have a gamecube or a gaming PC so I couldn't just buy an original copy or use an emulator. I have mario galaxy 1 and mario 64 for the DS, but I really want mario galaxy 2. I'm upset the bundle didn't include galaxy 2.

SM64 DS isn’t as good but it still played a huge part in my DS days.
I have the Wii, Wii U and switch.
If you want the best Mario Galaxy experience and probably one of the cheapest ways to play SMG 2 then get a Wii U and hack it.
I have 3D all stars on the switch and Mario galaxy is better on the Wii U using the Wii mote than it is on switch with the joycon.
I feel like five year old me was better at playing this on the 64 than now lol

It’s probably that you’re more used to the 64 controller for this game mixed with the changes the Shindou version made as well as the further changes the port made

I just 120 this game today for the first time. I got the original on the nintendo 64 but got stuck at 119, I was missing the sub 21 second peach race star. When I finally knew about it (all of this was pre internet, for me at least because I grew up very poor), my game cartridge broke and that was the end. i never played the game again, but made a promise to myself, that i would later in my life. MArio 64 is the most important game for me because it was one the only games I got to play as a small kid, due to growing up without a console (I got my 64 as a hand-me-down form a cousing when she moved to the US). i am so happy today! Thanks nintendo for creating one of my most treasured memories and bringing it back for the switch after so many years.

I completed mario 64 for about the third time in my life today I have 108 stars, I did get 120 stars back in about 1998. My patience isn't what it was.

I think you can use pro controller. I usually use the pro controller for all the games on the collection and I think the controls are fine (although I haven’t used an N64 controller before).

When Mario gets too far from the camera he goes low-poly. We're on the Switch in 2020. We don't need low-poly Mario anymore.
But this isn't a remaster. It's not supposed to 'fix' anything. It's just an English translation of the shindou version with inverted camera controls and upgraded text, textures and resolution. That's it.

For me, Super Mario Galaxy & the second game have always been my all-time favorite games to play ever, because when I was 5 years old in 2010-11, the games I had played at the time as my first games ever played in life was New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Mario & Sonic Olympic Winter Games and Super Mario Galaxy 2. Don’t ask why my parents bought me the second game before the first game.
So since I have played all of the 3D games, except for Odyssey which I will in a few months, this is my current Top 10 favorite Mario Games:
(Best) 1. Galaxy 2
2. Galaxy
3. Mario Kart Wii
4. Super Mario Sunshine
5. Mario Kart 8/Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (same games, only difference is 200cc)
6. Super Mario 64 (I dislike Rainbow Ride, the camera, most of the 100 coin stars, and throwing final Bowser is not easy)
7. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Childhood & Giant Bowser is a throbbing B A N G E R)
8. Super Mario Bros. 3 (This game reminds me of the “New” series)
9. Mario Kart 7 (this game is basically a downgrade to Mario Kart Wii & 8 Deluxe)
(Worst & Tie) 10. Super Mario World & New Super Mario Bros. 2 (These games are both fun)
About #10: I like both games, but I never been a fan of the NES & SNES games because their games aren’t anywhere as appealing as of today. Super Mario World has great level design, which can also be said for NSMB2, but their levels are pretty short and the items are very limited. NSMB2 however has more verity than SMW when it comes to level design & items. But the bosses in both games are way too easy, and I think Giant Bowser 2 is easier than SMW Bowser because the patterns are very easy to notice.
I know that most of my favorites are Wii games and not Switch games, but most of the games I have on the Switch are not Nintendo games. NSMB.U Deluxe & MK8Deluxe is what I mainly play. I also have Super Mario 3D All-Stars but I don’t count that on the list because it’s just 3 old games put into one game.

I just got super Mario 3D all stars and completed SM64. It was an amazing game!
I like how SM64 looks completely normal because we're all used to Mupen64plus delivering HD SM64 to our doorstep anyway.

Sanic The Hedgehog Galaxy is a really popular Mario game and I liked how it was constantly messing with the gravity on the game
KainaX122 I’ve seen some gameplay of galaxy from game grumps and because of screen crunch and the Wii’s resolution he game didn’t look that good so I’m hoping the game looks better now. 1080p I don’t see any pixels and no screen crunch
Sanic The Hedgehog eh, maybe it’s because I grew up alongside the really blocky polygonal 3D models from the N64 but I never thought the resolution on Galaxy was that bad myself 🤷🏻♂️
