Just a reminder everybody join me on a live stream this Friday, February 16 at 7 PM Eastern standard time. Hope to see you there!
Collective Soul, "Shine" and "The World I Know"!
"Shine" is another great song from Collective Soul.
"Heavy", "Precious Declaration" and "Shine" are other bangers by these guys.
Precious Declaration is my favorite track but they have so so many awesome songs
One of my favourite albums of the era. There isn't a bad song on it.
Collective Soul has a special place in my heart. They have a lot of great music!
they had some great songs! Check out their songs: Gel, Where the River Flows, Shine & Precious Declaration
Very talented group. Ridiculously under-rated.
“The World I Know “ is amazing
❤I love this band. The World I Know is my fave but Shine and December are great too they have so many great songs. The chorus on December will live in your head for a long time.
Love Love Love Collective Soul! Got all their albums. Love all their songs.
Love Collective Soul! 'Shine' and 'The World I Know' are great songs. A similar band is Stone Temple Pilots. 'Plush', 'Creep', 'Interstate Love Song'. All worth a listen.
I love Collective Soul! Listen to "Run" and "Shine". They did a concert with the Atlanta Youth Orchestra that is fabulous. Check it out!
I love “Needs” and “Run” .
I'm so glad you enjoyed my request. There were some great bands in the 90s that people forget about. Shine is great song if want to explore them further.
Great choice! Right up my alley.
Chumbawamba - Tubthumping (I Get Knocked Down).. lol. Man did this bring back fond memories playing this song as we drove to beach volleyball tournaments on Lake Michigan every weekend.
Definitely give a listen to “Shine”.
Thank you for playing Collective Soul. There are so many other great songs by this band.
YES! Georgia boys kicking it! They have many good tunes...thanks for reviewing them!
Collective Soul is such a genius and with poetic artistry in it.
You're correct, Chumbawamba's "Tubthumping" came out 2 years after this song. Good ear.
Collective Soul has MANY hits in their catalog
There were 4 great decades of Rock. Thr 90s was the last
Yes.
Their where so many great bands in the 90s
@@connieleighton4375 60s-80s too. Born in the 60s, grew up in the 70s, became an adult in the 80s. Great time to be alive.
@jodij6280 sounds like your about the same age and yes I'll listen to just about anything i was born in the early 60s to parents who liked music very much and I was just thinking that the 90s was alot like the 70s because there was just sooo much talent and it was so diverse
@@connieleighton4375 I have 6 older siblings so I grew up hearing great music I might not have heard otherwise.
Just loved the sounds Ross pulled out of his guitar. Heavy is one of my favorites.
I love this album
BTW I’m 71 years old ❤❤
Me too! Awesome band. I've seen them several times in concert always great. Seeing them again this summer!
Phenomenal band. I've seen them a handful of times live, and they have never disappointed. They have no bad songs.
I never thought of this band as beinYg post-grunge, but now I can really see it. Actually, the video reminded me allot of Unplugged Pearl Jam…and there was a hint, IMO, of Eddie Vedder’s timbre, when he sang “Baby, just spit me out “. And the melodic feel was dark…very grunge. Alternative grunge, if you will. Really liked it.
“Needs” is another great song from collective soul
The World I Know is my favorite by them!
And the video is great!
Heavy is a all time great rocking song to check out!! 🤘🤘
I never knew what the band members looked like. I love this song, World I Know. Shine. I'll have to check out some of the other songs.
“Run” is one of my favorites.
Love this song🎼🎸👏🏻♥️♥️🌷🌷
This video and song Screams 90's! Takes me back to my monastic Doc's look :-D
Love this band. So many great songs!
Very underrated band. Their eponymous album is brilliant.
One of my all time favorite songs always has been. Idk what it is about this song man it just always hits me
WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS is their bangeriest banger!!!
I listened to this album so much when I was pregnant, that my daughter would totally knock out when we put it on. 😊
Shine is definitely worth a listen to very catchy song 😊
Shine was such an anthem when I was a freshman in college!
Shine and The World I Know are awesome as others have said!!!
One of m fave songs I think of it as "Perfect lyric to music"
" The World I Know "
Please do "The World I Know", "Run", "Shine" and "Better Now" by them too.
Great song. Collective Soul is genius music, so underrated for a band with 17 top hits. For those in Texas, you can check out our Collective Soul tribute band - Reflective soul.
Considering how many people don’t remember these guys, they had a surprising number of hits, usually two or three per album for a while there. One of my favorite 90’s bands and yeah, one of the few bands people will say are underrated that really are.
Excellent Song. Excellent Band. Excellent Choice! Greetings from Germany!
These guys have some really great stuff cant believe this is 1995 where has the time gone
Chumba wumba is i get knocked down
“Better Now” is a great song!!
‘Blender’ is an all time fav album of mine. Never not in the car. Their live album with the Atlanta Youth orchestra is worth checking out having just seen your liking for the orchestral backing on ELO.
The World I Know by Collective Soul next! You have some great music ahead with them. Heavy. Shine.
One of my favorite bands ❤️
Chumbawamba. Might be the time I heard that in reference to Collective Soul. Always enjoy your reactions, Salvo.
Really like this song, but wasn't sure who they were so thanks Salvog!!
Perhaps my favorite 90s band. Some notables: Why Pt. 2
Crowded Head
Blame
Gel
Perfect Day (w. Elton John)
One of my favorites is a song nobody knows called General Attitude
G dog. Try Where the River Flows
Gel and the world i know are awesome too! All the songs on it are great. I don't think that there is a bad song on it! More please!
Saw them in ‘94 opening for Aerosmith for their Get a Grip tour in Austin. ❤
shine and heavy are 2 goodies
For a 'different' side to this band, you might want to consider their song "Heavy" .
That entire album is awesome.
Also the song it reminded you of is Tubthumping by Chumbawamba. It came out in 1997.
Treat yourself to more, my favorite band in the 90s
Gel is a fantastic song!
🗺️
Shine! Next!
They're a great band, not sure that you could go wrong with anything from the first three albums. Any of the singles are great but I love the deeper cuts, like "She Gathers Rain" and "Smashing Young Man"
Check out "Shine"
These guys are awesome. You'll love shine
Also did you really just compare this to chumbawamba😅
they got 25 more songs dude . its a gigantic rabbit hole of albums
Suggestion...Click Click Boom by Saliva 😎
Should check Ed Roland interview with Rick Beato.
Yes, definitely. Great interview.
Chumbawumba is miles behind Collective Soul. Not even remotely comparable in terms of talent. IMHO Collective Soul and the Goo Goo Dolls are the best rock bands to come from the 90's. Any reactions to their music is worth your time.
I agree about Chumbawumba. Not even close.
You’re thinking of “Tubthumping” by Chumbawumba. (I get knocked down)
