Personally I rate him alongside Lennon, Harrison, Elton John and The Rolling Stones, he will go down as one of the all time greatest, in my book he already is.
Some of the most uplifting music 🎶 you could ever hear - if you feel down just put ELO on and I guarantee you will will feel lifted and joyous. TELEHONE LINE, Mr BLUE SKY just a couple of wonderful productions...
Evil Woman and Mr Blue sky but been many many years since I used to listen to these guys so probably many more I just dont remember but will if I hear them again.
ELO are amazing, so many great songs. You might know Mr Blue Sky from Guardians of the GalaxyII Jeff Lynne is a genius. This whole concert is amazing, start to finish. Can't go wrong with ELO.
Jeff Lynne (who comes from my home City of Birmingham, UK) is a fantastic muscian and producer. E.L.O. have loads of great songs and sound just as good live as they do on the studio versions. E.L.O. were still performing just before the pandemic and they are doing their last tour this year. My favourite song is 'All Over The World' which is a very happy song which you should listen to. He was also part of the super group 'The Traveling Wilburys' with George Harrison (The Beatles), Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan. You should listen to their 'End of the Line' and 'Handle with Care' if you have not done so.
You can hear how good his voice is when he performs an acoustic set live at Bungalow Palace with his mate Richard Tandy (which is on TH-cam) Rest in peace Richard 🙏
Yeah Richard was Genius, Jeff's best mate, saw original ELO 1980, Birmingham my favourite concert ever, They played Beatles songs to Paul and George that were in audience! For John. ❤
ELO was one of the very first bands to include strings etc to it's live performances. And the music has stood the test of time - even thought today's generation will never know the frustration of waiting for a land-line to be picked up!
I am a 68 year old Canadian, and I saw ELO in Montreal back in the 1980's and the laser show and music was just s spectacular. Never seen a band perform better.
Hi Mike & Jess, another great song, my generation, you will now have to listen to more E.L.O. Living Thing -- Don't Bring Me Down -- Turn to Stone -- Evil Woman -- Shine a Little Love and of course the happiest song Jeff Lynne's ELO - Mr. Blue Sky (Live at Wembley Stadium 2017) ☺ 😀
I love watching you two, Down to earth and genuinely enjoying the music the comedy etc. I don't know if you've reacted to it in the past but Robert Plant Big Log. My favourite guitar sound of all time
My husband and I saw ELO live in Tacoma in 2019, it was an incredible experience! I recommend the other songs from Live At Wembley like Evil Woman, Turn to Stone, Livin’ Thing and others. My husband and my special song was ELO’s “Strange Magic”. I say was because my husband passed away two years ago. Fun facts, the electric guitar player wearing the black shirt with white squares is married to the female back up singer and two of the strings players, Rosie Langley on violin and Amy Langley on cello, the one seated next to Rosie, are sisters.
So what you are really saying is your mum is a good judge of music and you’re just catching up! A great big hug to your mum.❤😊Also to your baby Now go and dance in the kitchen. love from Scotland. Rab
Jeff Lynne, the lead singer and founder of ELO was 76yrs old when this concert was broadcast in the U.K. during 2017, and his voice has the exact same tenor as when ELO started back in 1970. It's worth watching the full concert in order to "feel" ELO.
Jeff Lynne was originally in the move,, they did some really good songs, had Roy Wood in the group but went their separate ways because Jeff and Roy both wanted to be lead singers! Worked out well for both of them, Roy formed wizard. 😊 ❤them both. 😊
Telephone Line was originally released by ELO in 1976. Here Jeff Lynne's ELO (re-named, there's a whole band history) played it for their 'Wembley or Bust' performance in 2017. The term 'light orchestra' refers to a smaller orchestra with fewer instruments than a full one. An 'electric' light orchestra also includes electric instruments such as electric guitars.
It's just amazing to know Jeff Lynne is no youngster but still insanely brilliant & ofcourse the rest of the band. Love Jeff!! xxxx I'm 64 yrs old & have ALWAYS loved ELO. 💝💝💝💝💝💝
I'm 63. Thank you for bringing our music back to the forefront! I really enjoyed your personal story😢. Thank you for sharing and keep it up. Great reaction!😊❤
You should have a look at their first concert in something like 30 years which was at Hyde Park. Loads of songs to choose from but I'll start off with 'All Over the World' which started the concert off.
Jeff Lyne and Roy Wood started ELO , I was waiting for the No 14 bus in Lea Village Birmingham and they came out of the outdoor (booze shop) and both looked like they do now.
Jeff Lynne is a genius. So so so many great songs from ELO. Check out Diary of Horace Whimp. Plus he set up The Travelling Wilburys... Probably the first ever supergroup. Some say ELO are an extension of The Beatles in their music.
OMG - its difficult not to get tearful, seeing that live performance, and then your personal story on top... ELO was one of the best bands and live acts of the 70s, and they have literally tons of brilliant songs... where to start?! I just pick three.. 'Can't get it out of my head', 'Mr Blue Sky' and 'Roll over Beethoven', and now that you started that rabbit hole with live versions, you might as well continue - any live concerts, maybe try a different one... and be assured: you can't get it wrong! 🌈
Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood came together to form a new band that would combine rock with a string section and various other classical orchestra instruments. They both contributed songs to the album. One of the better examples of E.L.O.s concept was doing Chuck Berry's Roll Over Beethoven and intro with Beethoven's Fifth. 😂 Roy Wood got more of the attention upon release of their debut album because he was more well known which caused friction between Roy and Jeff. So Roy left the band. The main members are Jeff Lynne - Lead guitar/lead vocals, Richard Tandy - Keyboards, Kelly Groucutt Bass/backing vocals, Bev Bevan - Drums. When they added strings you had Hugh McDowell on cello and Mik Kaminski on violin. After the debut album Jeff Lynne wrote all the songs with the exception of Roll Over Beethoven. He also produced all of E.L.O.'s albums in addition to producing albums for George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, The Traveling Wilburys and the Beatles Anthology Vol. 1-3. 😅 Telephone Line is in my top five E.L.O. songs of all time. Up there with Livin' Thing, Sweet Talking Woman, Mr. Blue Sky and I'm Alive.
ELO is my absolute favourite group to put on when I start my spring clean. I have them on repeat. Jeff Lynne was also a member of the Traveling Wilbury's which was a British-American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. He's wrote music for The Beatles. Tom Petty's greatest songs I won't back down and Free Falling were written together with Jeff. I could go on and on but ultimately they were a phenomenal band and one of the members was Roy Wood who went on to form Wizard. One of the biggest reasons these groups are still as popular today as in the past is because they sound the same live as they do on record. There was no auto tune there was no backing tracks you had to play an instrument and back then you could go see a concert for about £20 .
Jeff Lynne was in The Move, before ELO, had massive world wide hits, he has produced so many big stars, including The Beatles ('Free as a Bird', and 'Real Love.'), Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, etc. John Lennon called ELO, 'son of Beatles.' Jeff was in the Super Group, 'The Travelling Wilburys,' with Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty and Roy Orbison. He lives and breathes music.
"All over the World", "Last train to London", "Shine a little love" and "Turn to stone"....are my personal favourites. Off course there is "Mister Blue Sky"....but you'll get plenty of suggestions for this. ELO are simply Phenomenal....enough said.
Nice one , the Brummies again , you gotta love us , second city , Aston Villa and me , whats not to like lol , great reaction video as usual , keep em coming , please lol 🤣🤣👍💪
ELO were/ are a brilliant band - and Jeff Lynne is a superb producer and has worked with a lot of great musicians - and of course was once part of the brilliant Travelling Wilburies. Yeah - glad I was around when this music was first coming out.
Hi again Mike and Jess, yet another great reaction thank you. Have a listen to them playing 'Livin Thing' from the same concert, with Rosie Langley up front on violin. I guarantee you'll both love it!
I was a teenager when this originally came out,I remember that no matter where I was going out etc,if ELO were on top of the pops I wouldn't go out until I watched them. 61yrs old now and still love their songs
Love your reactions guys, Keep up the great work. Jeff Lynne the lead singer also played with the travelling Wilburys, (Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and George Harrison) Musical Royalty!
My one and only band that I have followed and loved since I was about 12 years old, now 54. Never was able to see them until Jeff’s return. It was an amazing experience I will never forget. Out of the Blue album is a must listen, the double LP, but many more too. Beautifully written music.
ELO have been my favorite band since 1973 and I've seen them 3 times in concert. They always put on a great show with tons of sing along songs. Please do more!
I saw Jeff 3 weeks ago at his Chicago show, on the "Over and Out" tour. It was honestly one of the best concerts i have EVER seen, in this long life!! 😂❤
This is one of the deepest rabbit holes you could explore, ever. Jeff Lynne is one of the greatest songwriters of all time: Livin´ Thing, Turn To Stone, Last Train To London, Don´t Bring Me Down, Mr. Blue Sky, Evil Woman, Rock´n Roll Is King, Hold On Tight, Can´t Get It Out Of My Head, Confusion, Calling America, Do Ya, Rockaria, Roll Over Beethoven, Shangri La ............... and dozens more. Tipp: Start out with newer Live-versions of LIVIN´ THING and TURN TO STONE and MR. BLUE SKY 🙂
Great music evokes a memory and the 70's were full of just very relatable moments. Iv'e said before music can say more than words sometimes can! Great reaction guys. Keep up your sensible and honest contributions.
As a contrast, listen to "Mr Blue Sky". Always makes me smile. A few more you may consider listening to: The Diary of Horace Wimp, Turn to Stone, Rockaria, Wild West Hero, Livin' Thing, Sweet Talking Woman, Roll Over Beethoven, Confusion. Just for your info, Jeff Lynne was also a member of the Travelling Willburies, an Anglo-American "supergroup" which boasted the likes of Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan in the line-up. ELO was formed in Birmingham UK and of course Jeff is a Brummie from my neck of the woods

Telephone Line is in my top five E.L.O. songs of all time.
Aw brilliant, one of my favourite songs, I was raised on ELO as my dad loves them. Superb! Thank you, love from Glasgow x
Apart from Dylan, Jeff's the only former member of the Wiburys.
Went to see them in hull the same year they were awsome
Hi Mike and Jess , you really have to checkout ELO " Mr Blue Sky " its superb . 🇬🇧
"All over the World", "Last train to London", "Shine a little love" and "Turn to stone"....are my personal favourites.
Off course there is "Mister Blue Sky"....but you'll get plenty of suggestions for this.
ELO are simply Phenomenal....enough said.
Aussie here, my two favourite groups, ELO and Chicago ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
Nice one , the Brummies again , you gotta love us , second city , Aston Villa and me , whats not to like lol , great reaction video as usual , keep em coming , please lol 🤣🤣👍💪
ELO were/ are a brilliant band - and Jeff Lynne is a superb producer and has worked with a lot of great musicians - and of course was once part of the brilliant Travelling Wilburies. Yeah - glad I was around when this music was first coming out.
ELO (Jeff Lynne) has always been the best Classic Rock Band in the world musically.
I bought this DVD and the whole concert is fire! I caught this show in Detroit and Jeff Lynne still has a fantastic voice.
Love your reactions guys, Keep up the great work. Jeff Lynne the lead singer also played with the travelling Wilburys, (Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and George Harrison)
Musical Royalty!
BLUE SKY 🙂
Welcome to my era you two beautiful people, thanks for reacting. Love to both.
One of their earlier hits was Roll Over Beethoven.
Great music evokes a memory and the 70's were full of just very relatable moments. Iv'e said before music can say more than words sometimes can! Great reaction guys. Keep up your sensible and honest contributions.
I was only thinking the other day I wish you would react to this.... 😍
Turned to Stone, from this same concert, is a banger.
You can see just how much the Beatles were an influence on Jeff Lynne, also his close friendship with George Harrison, and the rest of the Wilbury's.
