I love collective soul. You need to listen to one of there albums so dang good. I don't think I have ever heard a bad song from them. Love all their albums.
I saw these guys on Friday night at the WOODSTOCK 94 concert. The song was on the top 40 at the time. Best concert as well,.....ever. Collective soul, Nine Inch Nails, CSN, Melissa Etheridge, Joe Cocker, Cranberries, Aerosmith, Metallica, Jackyl, Blues traveler, Henry Rollins band, Salt n Pepa, Candlebox.......With Chris Farley entertaining between acts.
I saw one of Marvelous 3’s reunion shows back in October, and being proud fellow Atlanta natives they had Ed Roland come out and did this song. He didn’t even have to sing chorus, the crowd did it for him.
I consider alternative rock the rebirth of rock and roll. Alot of great music from the 90s , the toadies ,everclear , whitey ford sings the blues so many more , im 65 and this gets cranked up !
Great reaction.I absolutely love this song it’s a prayer. Love this band. Please do more of their music. Also, listen to Dolly Parton cover of this it’s absolutely fabulous.❤️✌️🌼
My black little GenX heart would be thrilled to show you 90s rock lol That was a GREAT time in music! Try "The World I Know", but I will always advocate the deeper cuts "She Gathers Rain" and "Smashing Young Man".
A really talented group imo. Some of these bands get lost in the masses - the tone on the guitar reminds me of Silverchair and I dug those youngsters too. #tomorrow
Love your reactions. I noticed you haven’t reacted to any of The Counting Crows songs. Dude, you’re missing out on some great music. Give a listen to their song “Mr. Jones”. You won’t regret it. 👍
This band is criminally underrated
I agree.❤️✌️🌼
"The World I Know" is another amazing song by Collective Soul.
Yes that one is even better !!!
I prefer it over Shine. They’re from my old stomping grounds.
❤Definitely one of the best Post Grunge bands. Shine takes me right back to the 90s......that riff and those drums. Ed Roland's voice is unmistakable.
Dolly Parton remade this on her bluegrass album in the late 90s and won a Grammy with it.
Collective Soul had a great sound on this. I’m 63 and love this jam!
LOVE this song. 'The World I Know' should be next. But it has to be the Official Music Video.
These guys are incredible. So underrated. Other fantastic songs are Gel, Where the River Flows, and Run.
Dolly Parton covered this song and did pretty well with it, which isn't surprising because she's an amazing talent.

Yeah, that solo is really, really tight. Underrated solo--needs to be featured more.
Love Collective Soul!
When they play this live the crowd fully hits the "yeah!" every time.
Took our early teen kids to see Collective Soul and LIVE together about 20 years ago .. one of their FAVORITE shows they've EVER seen !!
Yay!! Great reaction 😊 Collective Soul needs a playlist now. Hearing Shine live in concert was like an out of body experience 🙌
Nice request, Laurie! Thank you Sal for another great reaction ❤
Thanks, Laurie! EVelyn here….
This song is a banger and I always crank it when it comes on!
I love this band. Check out their song The World I Know. Another great song.
One of my brothers favorites. Reminds me of when he was still with us. Heaven let your light shine down! ❤️

I was there too! Amazing weekend!
Incredible time to be 16!!!
Really good song from the 90's
Have had the treat of seeing these guys live...unreal show from beginning to end.
Awesome band... The live in Atlanta with the Atlanta youth orchestra version is phenomenal!!
For a rocker by them, BETTER NOW
Saw them in 94. They opened for Aerosmith for their get a grip tour. So good!!
Their song December is also a cool groove. Check out the band Fuel. Hemorrhage and Bad Day are rockers.
Their first single. We all loved it immediately. It's still so good to this day.
I saw one of Marvelous 3’s reunion shows back in October, and being proud fellow Atlanta natives they had Ed Roland come out and did this song. He didn’t even have to sing chorus, the crowd did it for him.
This is a masterpiece!
Great Song! Great Song!!! 👍👍
Try where the river flows for more gritty guitar
Nicely done! When you get a chance check out "Precious Declaration" by them. You won't be disappointed.
This song and Closing Time by Semisonic are 2 of my favorite songs from that era

Funny i just commented that... Such an incredible version

I love your description of grimy!
And angel on one side & devil on the other!
That's life. (Yea)
Another banger from my favorite 'Christian Rock' group. 🤘🏼😁❤️

These guys get all kinds of radio play here. Love it.
Love “Gel”
“The World I Know”, and “Gell” are other excellent songs.
A really talented group imo. Some of these bands get lost in the masses - the tone on the guitar reminds me of Silverchair and I dug those youngsters too. #tomorrow
90s grunge has entered the chat!
Believe it or not, Dolly Parton does a killer cover of this song.
Good song
❤
Believe it or not, Dolly Parton covers this song and it's really really good. Great reaction. Thank you. 😊
2nd album is amazing
...and by grimy your mean Grungy LOL
Kinda of both actually, like it was grimy like thick and slimy sounding lol
For some 90s alt-rock from Canada, try: Moist - "Push"
Love your reactions. I noticed you haven’t reacted to any of The Counting Crows songs. Dude, you’re missing out on some great music. Give a listen to their song “Mr. Jones”. You won’t regret it. 👍
Fun fact: Shine isn't a song. It's a prayer according to the Roland brothers father
The "Dosage" album is great startto finish...with a hidden track!!
Have to do The World I Know. 🫡
🗣️
massive rabbit hole dude, needs to be done
You have to listen to precious declaration
GEL next please!!!
"Oh, that's nasty!" Is the purest reaction to this song. Love it!
