Thanks for this! I was wondering why the doctors made a big deal out of the dry, flaky skin on my leg, but no one has ever explained that it could be an opening for infection! Now I'm going to work at keeping them moisturized. I appreciate you.
I have Acute Myoloid Leukemia and a blood clot in my right leg. I am on Chemo Therapy plus a blood thinner pill. My leg swells up more during the day and lessens during the night as I own an electric bed and elevate my legs during the night. My Oncologist also put me on Furosemide which makes me urinate more. I also have to take Potassium Chloride. My question is what do you think about Furosimide to help reduce the swelling in my leg. Thanks.
I have emphidema on both my legs didn't know how serious it was until my legs started weeping turned out I had cellulitis in both my legs I collapsed in my home woke up in hospital days later the infection went through my body glad to say I'm home now but my legs are still black but the infection has cleared up thanks to the doctors and nurses that looked after me have to keep looking after my legs now 😢
@@ginasinclair7753 I have this problem due to chronic painful Vasculitis. Should the dry skin be gently removed? My legs are also black from knees to feet. What medications cleared up the infection? Thanks for your help.
It would make sense to get an Endovenous Duplex Vein Mapping Scan to rule out Venous Insufficiency. VI can be treated if you find the right expert specialist.
When I was a truck driver, my leg would swell to the size of my jeans. Clear liquid would drip down my ankle, and would soak through my jeans. I had an ulcerated? open wound for years. Doctors tried horse wraps and other things that would not work. They would say they don't know what to do. Eventually I found a physical therapist who knew of a wet wrap that would dry on my leg before it started to expand. The wrap did not allow my leg to expand, and the wound was able to heal. Nowadays with the internet, I find people Dr. etc. currently have understanding and know what to do. Thank you for spreading the word about those infections, and how they occur.
thats what im saying man i learned more about these issues from specialists on youtube. I had the foot swelling issue and my doctors in real time had me on some weird medication that did nothing. I looked up this issue online and the specialist said to take vitamin b1, magnesium and potassium. The swelling went away I think these guys have to say go to a doctor for legal issues, but I think they know they, know more than your local physician
My mother died at the age of 67 from sepsis from lymphedema complications. If your skin is weeping don’t ignore it and try to treat at home. See a wound care doctor right away. While it’s very important to keep the skin clean and moisturized other issues can be the cause of the swelling like veinous insufficiency or peripheral artery disease. I love Bob and Brad, and Mike and this video has great info but if you are googling help for this issue, please don’t wait. Go see a doctor to rule out any bigger issues.
Oops! I hit send before I finished my comment! As I was saying, I was prescribed Amlodipine for high blood pressure (I also take another med for high b/p), and had been taking it since Oct. of last year, and I hadn’t had a problem with my feet swelling until a few days ago. Right before bedtime, my feet felt “tight”, so I looked at them and was shocked at how swollen they looked! So, I did some tippy toe exercises and then elevated my feet and the swelling went down somewhat. My doctor did tell me that swollen ankles and gums could be possible side effects when he prescribed this med. What surprised me was I didn’t have any symptoms before this. Well, I was finally able to speak with the doctor today and he said the foot swelling can happen at any time, even a year later without any incidents of foot swelling up until then! So, I am now off that med, and he said the swelling should clear up completely in about two weeks. I don’t have a heart condition either, I just went through extensive testing recently and the cardiologist said I have a healthy heart. The reason I mentioned this medication and it’s possible side effects, is because we all have to be aware of the side effects of meds prescribed to us. Thank you for informing us of the importance of hydrating our skin, in order to prevent bacteria from getting in through the cracks. I moisturize, however, I wasn’t aware of that danger! Thank you once again!
I know from experience how serious this is. My sister passed away 4 months ago from Sepsis. It was from exactly what he is talking about. It happened fast. On a Monday she was fine we had a good day together a nice visit, thank the Lord, I'm so thankful we had that special time together. But, 😢by Tuesday we had to get her to the ER, by Wednesday afternoon she passed away at the hospital. So please take this serious and keep a close eye on you feet and legs. She was under a doctor's care, but she was never told that this could happen. She was putting lotion on, but couldn't wear the compression socks because of the pain. We had no idea that infection could start on dry swollen feet, until it was to late. 😢
Interestingly my dr has never mentioned the possibility of sepsis either. One of my legs was extremely severely swollen for a couple months before New Year (while my dr was away and I could not see him) and has caused permanent change in the skin and underlying tissue around my ankle. This last 2 weeks I have received 2 sessions of Medical Manual Lymphatic Drainage which has made a huge difference to my legs. This was not mentioned, let alone referred, by my GP but by a Thermographer as the thermography clearly revealed the reduced circulation in my lower legs. My GP had only suggested compression stockings, which I found physically impossible to put on without pulling and injuring my back, and fluid tablets which have terrible side effects.
I'm 60. I've been battling lymphedema in my legs for over 20 yrs now. I worked retail, customer service. On my feet all day long. Go, go, go. Swollen legs, ankles and feet. PAIN! I was going without a doctor. Just going to the local emergency room when the CELLULITIS hit. Leakage? Oh, cry me several great lakes! Part of the problem is that most doctors don't know what lymphedema is, what the dangers are. Or how to tell a patient how to cope. I had to quit working in my early 40s, because I couldn't manage the pain and cellulitis attacks any more. I was on welfare for years. I finally got on disability. It's been a terrible grind. For just over 2 years now I have been fighting horrific open wounds all around my lower legs. Pain? My mind has been shredded, I've considered suicide. It's been that bad. I've spent the last year in a rehab hospital bed, trying to heal. I haven't walked in a year. I've lost over 50 pounds. If you think that your legs, ankles and feet have been swelling a lot, PLEASE get some medical help. You don't want to live my life.

I'm so sorry to hear how challenging this has been. That is so kind of you to warn and help others. I pray for your continued strength and fight. You are in my prayers, please hang in there and don't give up.
My husband had this mixed in with cancer issues. The cellulitis led to Sepsis. Three long weeks in the hospital. Please be very careful.Great advice here.
I have COPD and type 2 diabetes. My feet swelled up like balloons and turned purple! Led to the diabets diagnosis and meds. The discoloration was caused by low o2 absorbtion. Now, on oxygen, too. My feet are almost back to normal. Took a year to get this under control. If you have these conditions do not ignore your feet. I have mine checked everytime I see the Doctor.
MY FATHER PASSED AWAY IN SEPTEMBER OF 2021 FROM SEPSIS, AND HE DIDN'T LIKE GOING TO THE DOCTOR FOR A LONG TIME HE WAS SAYING IT WAS GOUT UNTIL HE PASSED FROM THIS ....GLAD I CAME ACROSS THIS VIDEO
Today at work I had the opening jingle for your videos in my head for some reason, & I was humming it (a bad habit of mine). One of my colleagues exclaimed "Bob & Brad!", to which I replied "Yes!" & then we had a chat about how awesome you three guys are, so I thought I'd let you know that you're pretty famous even here in a little office in NZ!
I am diabetic. Just spent 8 days in the hospital and 3 weeks in rehab. I get weeping skin from edema this time the skin was infected to the point of sepsis I was delirious lost speech couldn't remember the simplicity of questions asked could not walk, awful pain. Now I am living with calamine lotion in what they call an unaboot. Doing better, rolling walker now helps. Take care of your skin and if you're diabetic see a podiatrist.
It's so good when you speak about personal experiences because it really increases the applicability of your suggestions. It might seem odd for you to speak about your mom, but you can let her know that by sharing her issues and the treatment that it makes people like me trust that the advice will be relevant. And is actually a strong emotional and psychological relief. Thank you.
Thank you so much!!! We have been trying to figure out what to do. The doctor just keeps telling us to put compression socks on my 93 year old mom. It will NOT work. The picture looks just like her foot. I will take a picture today and begin treatment. Keep you posted. So grateful for your videos! Have used them more than a few times!
Easy way to don Compression socks w/ the toe, put your hand in it until your fingers are down by the toes of the sock, unroll the sock down your arm until just about the heel. The calve part of the sock should be dangling not all bunched up. Put the foot in the foot portion of the unrolled sock and properly align. Grab the elastic top of the sock and pull up the leg. Should be on! Also can hand wash w/ antibacterial soap after work hung up and typically dry before next shift. I used to work 12hr shifts back to back and this is what I did.
As a wound care nurse that treats patients at home this is such a frustrating diagnosis. With keeping feet and legs moisturized and dry please tell them to keep legs elevated when sitting. The doctor will recommend to watch their salt and sugar intake. Listening to doctors directions and following them is the ONLY way they will heal and stay healed. Problem is most of these patients don't listen yet think it is the doctors reason they aren't better.
I agree with you that’s what I was thinking. Elevating the feet & legs is the main thing for this I thought? And gentle massage? Since it’s a blood flow issue, isn’t it usually? My right foot used to always start, then my left when I was working. As soon as I got home & showered my feet went up in the recliner or I would go lay down. My bp was always up when I was working though. Not anymore thank God! Retirement fixed that issue. Lol The lotion I use for massage if any inflammation does start though is called Blue Stop ointment. This stuff worked amazingly well for my swollen feet & ankles back then too. Just the lotion alone seemed like it promoted blood flow. It’s an emu oil based product. Doesn’t take much at all & smells great.
Maybe the patient needs to try helping themselves and not be a victim. I’m a healthcare worker. A lot of these patients don’t try and then want u to feel sorry for them.
Just got out of the hospital from sepsis and necrotic lung. The first symptom was huge swelling in my ankles. i had no idea what was going on from confusion. My Husband called 911 out of concern - Thank God! i almost died.
Tip for applying compression stockings: Sprinkle a little talcum powder on the foot and spread evenly, roll the sock from the top/ cuff down to the toe/end, forming a doughnut appearance. Place the rolled sock at your toes and “unroll” the sock onto your foot , keep unrolling until the sock is on, if any adjustments are needed, lightly dampen your fingers and pull the sock into place.

My lower legs have always been very large, but there is no swelling in my feet, and I overall am considered thin. Dr's have not diagnosed it, but they notice it. I think I have Lipedema. I am athletic, and have at times, purposely lost weight to see if lower limbs would get smaller; nothing! Thank you for addressing edema!
Thanks for the information. It is rather amusing that you keep saying to go to the doctor; they will know what the problem is and what to do. No, they don't. My whole life, I have had to diagnose any problem I have had and tell the doctor what it is, and I usually have to suggest what I'd like them to do in a polite way, so they don't refuse. The only area I've been able to rely on doctors for is the eye, eye specialists.
and if by any chance you have extra weight, they blame it all there, they won't bother. Even if weight-loss helps improving the condition (and it does), still it's not panacea.
in my experience, i found that PAs (Physicians Assistants) are even better than Drs. Also many tend to lean toward whole health, naturopathic care. They also tend to be better listeners and seem to understand the problem you're having and work toward a solution. i always get the feeling that Drs are too busy to listen or care. they just want to throw a prescription at you and scram. Try looking for a Drs office that has a PA or two. i think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Take care!
You're right about that! I have swelling problem and I go to several specialists and no one is very concerned about it at all. I'm beginning to wonder why I bother to go to doctors.
I was surprised to find the restricting my intake of refined carbs resulted in a significant reduction of edema in my legs and feet. On one hand, that was a real bummer, but OTOH, a great relief that I had that much control over the problem.
Say it for the generation of boomers in the back still Eating fried food and drinking chocolate milk before bed spiking blood glucose like a gold Diabetic should
Good info shared, I’m a paraplegic and the advice shared here is very helpful to manage edema. I use a “Juzo” brand compression stocking, these are a stronger compression than the tube product but are scripted by medical professionals. Para’s keep in contact with your spinal doctors
I have gone 4 rounds with ankle cellulitis this past year- MERSA- make them culture it because the wrong antibiotic won’t work and side effects of those drugs are horrible. I Now use a compression stocking donner to get them on. Before putting stockings on I smooth on hand sanitizer then moisturize. Luke warm shower, wash cloth gently, mild moisturizing soap. Elevate feet higher than my hips several times daily by adding a pillow block to my recliner.
Thank you! Once again - good advice I just started having swelling feet issues with very dry skin. Blamed it on too much salt in my diet and kinda blew it off as anything to see the Dr about. At 69 I don’t want to admit it’s time to take better care of issues before they go south.
I wear compression socks. Try this to get the compression socks on easier. Turn the sock inside out. Push the toe section down inside the inverted sock several inches. Hold the sock with the heal aligned with your heal, and insert your foot into the inverted sock. Then slide the sock over itself. This is so much easier. Some people will need to sit while doing this.
Thank you so very much!! I did not know this! That you could get sepsis from your legs and edema, etc.!! Didn’t know about the drying out & the feisures possibly developing, etc.! And Infection starting, etc.!! Makes total sense!
Hi Bob and Brad. I like your site because it is honest, sincere, and helpful. I have edema and dry skin, but it used to be much worse, and wept. I used Desitin cream. I would spread the cream on my newly showered and dried legs. It helped A LOT. The doctor even noticed. I do not use it every day, but every third day or so. And, not use too thick a layer, just a thin layer will do. Desitin has zinc oxide which heals the skin naturally. I hope you will try it with your mom and let me know how it works out for her if you do. God bless you.
I used compression socks and right away from my feet to my knee, both legs, discoloration. I googled that and now I won't wear compression socks. I use elevation. I might try tubegrips. My cardiac PA says I have venous insufficiency. I hydrate and walk around more than I did. I am careful about diet, NO SUGAR and very low carbs. It helps. I am trying to do what I can so my issues don't worsen. I will be 81 in September and have a-fib after a year with RSV, 3 bouts of "covid." I really like this show. Always great info and practical application. Thanks.
I take my compression hose off at bedtime after a shower. I make sure my feet are complete dry the put diabetic ointment on my feet. I wear regular socks to bed because my feet 👣 are cold cold. Then in the morning before I crawl out of bed I put a pair of compression hose on. It makes it much easier to do before my legs wake up.
Very helpful. Have had edema since I hit puberty. Multiple cellulitis attacks. Imagine being a 16 year old skinny girl with swollen feet? As you get older, your body grows tired of it. Thanks for the reminders of keeping peace my skin clean and moisturized. It was acting up again. Spent 3 days in the hospital this year with a massive foot infection. Low blood pressure, good bones, low weight at 55 years old but the infection could have killed me.
Great info! You can buy special "donning gloves" with nubbins to help smooth your stockings on. Also a "doffing device" for removing stockings at the end of the day when your legs may be more swollen....
I Do have very dry scaly skin. Last summer, I had the joy (sarcasm) of staying in the hospital from May to the end of September because of sepsis. No one knew how I got it. Then, it took 2mths to find an antibiotic that worked. Only one nurse expressed concern for my skin.
I did not know about sepsis. I have my left foot swollen, saw several doctors, X-ray shows arthritis in ankle. Was advised to wear compression socks, but I feel the sock doesn’t compress in the right areas. This started during the pandemic, while doctor visit were virtual, and continues. I was checked for blood clots, and if the valves in my leg were working, too.
Just a little tip..I ordered these socks on Temu..they came and are exactly like the ones in the video..they are around $2..I'm using them them and they are as good as ones in the stores..
I spent 3 months in a nursing home for physical therapy to be able to walk. I could not stand, could not guide my feet into shoes. I was so weak i could not even turn myself in the bed while aides diappered me! My feet and legs were so swollen husband had to buy me shoes 3 sizes larger. Each by 7am ( on shower days at five)was assisted to sit in a wheelchair for 6 or more hours with my feet on the floor. By the time my therapists arrived to assist me in walking my feet and lower legs were swollen to three times their normal size. I suffered terrible pain up my left shin. A nerve pain shut up it feeling like the hide was being pulled off like skinning a fish with pliers. It was only for an instant. I could not have stood it longer. Taking off hose left a snowfall of flaked skin. Trying to walk on them was a sad joke. In the hospital a bedside portapotti enabled an aid to assist me on to it. I simply could not stand up to turn and sit on the toilet. The thing was in a corner. No way an aid could help from each side so l had to be diapered in my bed. I'd lost over 80 lbs. At 5'7" I was down to 94 lbs. Most of the aids were wonderful but there was no way I could elevate my feet in that chair. My doctors prescription? Gabapentine. The stuff did nothing but put me to sleep. I did not realize how dangerous that was. At home I keep my feet elevated as often as possible. The legs did weep, but it as my arms that really seeped so badly my bedding would have to be changed. At home my husband was easily able to assist me in putting on socks and slacks and helping me to the bathroom. The dear man even had to diaper me for a few days. Within a week could stand with help and walk with a walker. The best ng that happened was when Medicare no longer covered costs and I was booted out. My pc prescribed a very expensive ointment that did absolutely nothing. Taking furosimide ( water pill) daily does help. Thanks for this video.
You're an asset Brad, my son's a nurse he's one too! Good advice on which kind of lotion, Vaseline is oil based, yuck! My bud's skin's dry due to past cancer treatments & recommends olive oil, I'm sure my skin would repel it, Happy birthday 🎂 Vicky!
What help my oedema after 15 years of pitting and swelling was the last strew...fasting. I drank just juice for 6 weeks with one nutritious meal a week. Then after 6 weeks, I water fast for 5 days, back on for another 5 weeks of juice and eating low amounts of fruits and vege. ALL GONE...No more weeping, pitting no more edema. Also walked hour a day, 1/2 hour in the morning, 1/2 afternoons.
Post surgery my foot was looking like Frankenstein, swollen big with a scar and skin purplish blue in color. The skin was dried and scaly, not only around surgery wound area in the ankle but also up to my lower limb below the knee. I had flaky skin falling all over the floor. The doctor told me to soak the foot in warm water daily which I do before shower, then after shower I would apply vitamin e lotion, leave it to dry and put on fresh tubular/compression sock and high crew sock over it. It helped improve the dry skin, but took more than 12 months before the swelling receded. I am still doing this daily up till now even though the surgery was around 2 years ago. It may take longer to recover perhaps because mine is a complex case of medical error which was discovered when the plaster cast was removed.
I have "lipodema" which is edema or swelling caused by fat cells following gravity instead of lymph fluids. It is rarely mentioned but can lead to "lymphedema" if not treated....
There is a huge increase in sepsis since the experimental jabbing project has been started. Sepsis, strokes, eczema and other skin disorders heart problems are increasing Keep pure blooded forevermore ❤
There's another possibility: People did not see a doctor for 2 years because of the covid epidemic. Lots of undiagnosed ailments and or known ailments got out of control because of neglect. Vaccines save lives, don't fear them
I had sepsis back in 2022 from uti infection due to exposure from mold let me tell you that was the most scariest experience of my life I literally felt like I was dying had so much fluid and my blood was turning black due to no oxygen the last thing I heard the drs say if we don’t hurry up and treat her she will die I spent a week in icu new fear unlocked 🔓 sepsis 😢 there needs to be more awareness of sepsis because so many people are dying from sepsis and the family doesn’t know why 😢
My Mom has red Patches around or just above the ankle...And itches...And I gave her some of the Antibiotic Creme POLYSPORINE..And it Worked....But her doctor says it's nothing serious or worry about... RIGHT..😑....And my Mom is 87...But she handles herself well...👍👍🥰
I wish you had posted this 2 months ago. I’m recovering from a broken leg and I learned much of this bit by bit as I’m recovering. Plain vaseline and that roll of stocking that you cut to size has been my life saver. Also those scrubby bath mitts are great for removing dry flaky skin. I also found that an unscented gentle cleanser on the affected leg is a lot more comfortable than regular scented soap or body wash. Also, as soon as I gained the quad strength to do so, lifting my leg high up to reduce swelling gives almost unreal relief when the swelling gets bad. I still have a boot, so I can’t see the swelling (mostly in my foot and lower leg). I have some nerve damage so not full sensation yet, but I’ve learned to tell what sensations in my foot mean it’s swelling, even if the pain is not bad yet. I get pins and needles up and down the top of my foot and when it feels like something is in between my toes, it’s means there is swelling there. I tell my family I have to stop everything and put my leg up.
Thank you for this video! My right leg from the knee down to toes has edema. Once it weeped what was very scary to me my family had went to amusement park so I had wrapped it with the ace bandage before the swelling started to not to have stiffness and to fit it in my shoe The strange thing is in the winter time it does not swell. When I lay down to go to sleep overnight the swelling goes away sometimes it immediately swells upon standing other times it takes several hours Told my doctor about this only thing they said is not to wrap it with ace bandage anymore and wear compression which is awful in the summertime. Over the internet I found heat edema would you please do a video on that subject hopefully I can get it under control and get rid of it.
Thank you for information. My whole body itches and is dry. The Eucerin the doctor prescribed is very thick. My itching only started about two months ago. My swelling doesn’t happen often but when it does it’s very uncomfortable. I don’t know what i have or what to do.
Could be simple as eating too much salty 🧂 food or sitting too much and not enough exercise..just focus on eating healthy and getting about 2.5 hours of moderate intensity exercise weekly.
If you watch Dr. Eric Berg's channel, a zinc deficiency symptom is dry skin. It's a good idea to be sure to take zinc and quercitin, plus all the other immunity boosters!
Hey mike don’t be snarky Bob and Brad were always really nice to each other and to us the two things you said can I talk now and be gone didn’t care for either one of them
IMPORTANT: If skin ever becomes warm &/or red, seek immediate medical attention. had it happen once. ALWAYS have compression stocking on in car or plane. Don't sit long periods without moving ankle. while sitting, can place foot on floor, go from heel then toes on floor to keep it moving. Have had this issue for 15 years.
I had a very severe lisfranc injury to my foot. All the bones were broken and dislocated. It is now 7 months after the operation and I am still in the recovery stage. There is a lot of swelling (edema) still after the operation. I do keep the foot elevated and make use of a compression sock. Although it seems that the incisions have healed properly, for the last few weeks now, blister-like sores have appeared on the incision scars. The foot is very painful and seems to have some nerve damage. I can't bend some of my toes still and when touching the skin of my foot, I experience very poor sensations like tingling and numbness in the foot.
I have edema my legs were swelling since 2018 very painful 😢 I used compression socks nothing helps plus central obstruction sleep apnea thyroid problems colon problems and my list goes on 😢
How long, on average, does it take to get edema out of your system (mainly in feet and calves). My cardiologist said the edema was caused by drinking too much water while being on carafate. He prescribed Lasix.
You can make your own lotion pretty easily that is of a much higher quality than any on the market. You can use licorice root to naturally get the fluid off. You can use a heat massager on the swollen areas to break up the fluid. You can elevate. I personally do not do compression devices because with Edema you can't keep these devices on while running back and forth to the bathroom.
Thank you for doing this video. I have gotten to the dry skin and can not even put a shoe on the swelling stage. I have booked an appointment to see the doctor instead of thinking oh well it's no big deal. Thank You. 😀
Having claudication in both legs, my doctor said not to wear compression socks. After my stroke (coradid blockage) my right leg has been swollen for the last 5 years and has been getting sores that appear for no reason. I am getting my A1C checked next month.
What type of lotion should you get? And where do you buy the socks? My elderly mother has this flaky skin swelling. She had both knees replaced and issues ever since then. Thank you!
Diabetic foot cream. Your mom needs to be seeing a podiatrist. They see and treat this sort of thing all the time. I'm not diabetic. My Podiatrist likes to mix foot cream and Vaseline, equal parts. He said any foot cream was fine. The diabetic version has some pain killer in it. If you want to go with a lotion get unscented. Your mom needs her problem diagnosed. Her leg swelling could be a blood circulation issue or very possibly a lymphatic system issue. I understand there are people who specialize in lymphatic drainage massage which might be of benefit. Compression stockings and socks are available every where. They come in all sorts of shapes, compression strengths, and price range. Have her doctor's not suggested compression stockings? Her Cardiologist or Podiatrist can suggest what level of compression to get.
Yes my husband died of seeping wounds that's was septic. It was reddish .He was in a nursing home!!!. Never did anything about it.Sued! Don't ignore this.

THANK YOU FOR SHARING. MY CONDOLENCES FOR YOUR MOM. HOW DID SHE DEVELOP SEPSIS. GOD BLESS YOU
Sepsis wow never thought it can happen with swelling & dry skin
Kudos to Brad for helping his mom thanks you guys for all your help =)
You are very welcome
Oh man!!! I'm so sorry!! God Bless you!! Maybe one day a cure, or really effective therapy will be discovered!! Hold on, don't give up, "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. " Maybe try deep breathing meditation to increase serenity, and acceptance, and deal with anxiety. Wim Hof is a man on TH-cam who talks about the benefits of deep breathing and he talks about how it changed his life, he teaches others. Breath Central on TH-cam will take you through rounds of deep breathing. Prayers for you! God Bless 🙏🌈❤️ Have hope...❤️❤️❤️🌷🪻🌻
We're sorry to hear this!
I'm so sorry to hear how challenging this has been. That is so kind of you to warn and help others. I pray for your continued strength and fight. You are in my prayers, please hang in there and don't give up.
Congrats 👏 on losing 50 lbs. !!!
Stop eating sugar and carbs.... go keto diet.
😮oh my!! I wish you didn't have to go through all that. I'm truly sorry. No one deserves that. I'll be praying for you.
My husband had this mixed in with cancer issues. The cellulitis led to Sepsis. Three long weeks in the hospital. Please be very careful.Great advice here.
So sorry to hear that, best wishes to you and your family
SO SORRY. HOW DID THEY KNOW HE HAD SEPSIS. MY AUNT WENT TO SEE DOCTORS. THEY DISMISSED . UNTIL IT WAS TO LATE. SAD
That is great to hear!! We will share this with the team :)
The two most famous, physical therapist, on the internet..... !! New Zealand!!! North Carolina!!
Don't forget to elevate your legs/feet.
Thank you.
That's great to hear, thank you
AMEN TO THAT! TOTALLY AGREE!💜💚💙
Bob was my favorite for his simplicity and just for being himself. He should come over and just be there, no words required.
I miss BOB..🙏🙏💜💜
We know, but rest assured he's with us every day in the studio and he will show up in videos every now and then!
I’m glad he’s there every day 🎉 big hugs!
Did he step down?
Thank you so much!!! We have been trying to figure out what to do. The doctor just keeps telling us to put compression socks on my 93 year old mom. It will NOT work. The picture looks just like her foot. I will take a picture today and begin treatment. Keep you posted. So grateful for your videos! Have used them more than a few times!
Best of luck to her!
Thanks for sharing!
As a wound care nurse that treats patients at home this is such a frustrating diagnosis. With keeping feet and legs moisturized and dry please tell them to keep legs elevated when sitting. The doctor will recommend to watch their
salt and sugar intake.
Lol
The lotion I use for massage if any inflammation does start though is called Blue Stop ointment.
Yup!
@@jadez57 massaging legs not always a good idea. If there's a blood clot in the legs, massage can set it loose.
@@lissyniña me... blood clots.
Just got out of the hospital from sepsis and necrotic lung. The first symptom was huge swelling in my ankles. i had no idea what was going on from confusion. My Husband called 911 out of concern - Thank God! i almost died.
Smart man!! Glad you are okay!
You need to make a video on that I bet they would be a lot of people see that.

Good info. Most docs don’t care. But this info has helped me. Thanks
OUTSTANDING PRESENTATION MEN!!! Not overly long, lots of correctly useful information, have dealt with this situation for over a decade!!! Keep it coming!!!
You're very welcome, thank you for watching!
We're sorry to hear that!
and if by any chance you have extra weight, they blame it all there, they won't bother.
Take care!
Yup! All they do is send you to 10 different doctors and still no answers
You're right about that! I have swelling problem and I go to several specialists and no one is very concerned about it at all. I'm beginning to wonder why I bother to go to doctors.
You guys are so awesome please keep this site up and going! You are helping SO MANY ppl❤️😊
Will do as long as we are able!
I was surprised to find the restricting my intake of refined carbs resulted in a significant reduction of edema in my legs and feet. On one hand, that was a real bummer, but OTOH, a great relief that I had that much control over the problem.
Say it for the generation of boomers in the back still

Good info shared, I’m a paraplegic and the advice shared here is very helpful to manage edema. I use a “Juzo” brand compression stocking, these are a stronger compression than the tube product but are scripted by medical professionals. Para’s keep in contact with your spinal doctors
Thank you!
You can buy compression socks with the toes open and it has a zipper on the side so easy on & off ! I have a pair !
Thanks for sharing!
Both legs bad weeping edema...got off the pregabalin, weeks later both legs are now back to "normal". Thanks gentleman!
Happy to help!
Thank you! Once again - good advice I just started having swelling feet issues with very dry skin. Blamed it on too much salt in my diet and kinda blew it off as anything to see the Dr about. At 69 I don’t want to admit it’s time to take better care of issues before they go south.
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for sharing!
Prayers for Bob
Thanks!
Thank you so very much!! I did not know this! That you could get sepsis from your legs and edema, etc.!! Didn’t know about the drying out & the feisures possibly developing, etc.! And Infection starting, etc.!! Makes total sense!
Glad we could inform you!
Thank you!
Thank you for explaining this condition. This was never explained by our doctor.
I will be 81 in September and have a-fib after a year with RSV, 3 bouts of "covid."
I really like this show. Always great info and practical application. Thanks.
I have post thrombotic disorder. Compression socks, elevation and exercise!
There ya go!
I had adema due to pain med. I had to use the compression socks for a while.. no longer taking the pain medication. So appreciative of your video!
Great to hear!
Make sure you dry between your toes well after washing them. Also check for cracks
Sure thing!
I use Aloe Oil and don't ware shoes, clean socks a must and the edema has really gone down after having 3 strokes in a 72 hour period.
We're sorry to hear that!
But a wedge pillow for your feet to elevate at night and a foot rest for your desk at work to elevate.
Thanks for sharing!
Get yourself a Foot Doctor..a Podiatrist. As well as the General Practitioner and check the swelling with a cardiologist.
Sure thing!
Still missing Bob!! Wish we could see him more often. I hope he's well and dong okay!!

Thanks!
Thank you! Much appreciated 😊
Wow scary! Thank you for the information and what to look out for.
Happy to help!
There are compression socks that zip, so are easier to put on and tame off.
This is very good information ~ your videos are so helpful ~I watch every one of them
We really appreciate that, thank you!

Excellent Presentation Thankyou
Thank you for this information. We will be utilizing it with Mum.
Miss Bob, but nice to see the great advice continues!
Where did he go?
Thanks for the support!
Thank y'all so much for your help I simply love y'all ❤️
I have "lipodema" which is edema or swelling caused by fat cells following gravity instead of lymph fluids. It is rarely mentioned but can lead to "lymphedema" if not treated....
What’s the difference between those and edema?
There is a huge increase in sepsis since the experimental jabbing project has been started. Sepsis, strokes, eczema and other skin disorders heart problems are increasing Keep pure blooded forevermore ❤
❤
Thanks for the heads up!
Thanks that has helped me understand how to care for my swollen legs and ankles
Happy to help!
Thank guys for this very valuable information here. I needed to know this for sure. God Bless you guys...

Glad to hear she's doing well!
Once I saw this start in my foot and ankle. I cut out all carbs and sugar and it went away.
Thank you for sharing!
Sadly, lymphedema is a chronic condition. We can't get rid of it. We can only manage it.

Thanks great to know information! Looking for more information!

Thank you for information. My whole body itches and is dry. The Eucerin the doctor prescribed is very thick. My itching only started about two months ago. My swelling doesn’t happen often but when it does it’s very uncomfortable. I don’t know what i have or what to do.
Lotion, creams, whatever it takes to keep it from getting septic. Maybe you want to revisit your doctor if the Eucerin isn't working
Thank you for triggering my hypochondria 🤣 my ankle swells every now and then
Could be simple as eating too much salty 🧂 food or sitting too much and not enough exercise..just focus on eating healthy and getting about 2.5 hours of moderate intensity exercise weekly.

Oh no! just watch for the dryness!
If you watch Dr. Eric Berg's channel, a zinc deficiency symptom is dry skin. It's a good idea to be sure to take zinc and quercitin, plus all the other immunity boosters!
Thank you, I just found your channel and your information is powerful. Bless you for making your videos. I wouldn't have ever had known.
Why don't more dr' s talk about this? The Detroit va has compression socks for this condition that works well 🤔.
We're asking the same thing!

Great info, thank you

Thanks for this information!🥰
I buy light colored compression stockings that way I can see how dirty they are and more easily see if there are any stains from weeping etc.
Thank you for doing this video. I have gotten to the dry skin and can not even put a shoe on the swelling stage. I have booked an appointment to see the doctor instead of thinking oh well it's no big deal. Thank You. 😀
You are so welcome! Brad
Hmmm. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.😮
Thank you
You bet!
Having claudication in both legs, my doctor said not to wear compression socks. After my stroke (coradid blockage) my right leg has been swollen for the last 5 years and has been getting sores that appear for no reason. I am getting my A1C checked next month.
Ask for a fasting Insulin test, too. Insulin goes up before the sugar goes up. Then you'll know how close you are to having Type II Diabetes.
Thanks so much! I wasn't aware what problems dry skin can cause! I'll have to get some lotion ASAP.
What type of lotion should you get? And where do you buy the socks? My elderly mother has this flaky skin swelling. She had both knees replaced and issues ever since then. Thank you!
She’s diabetic as well
Diabetic foot cream.
