This is crazy. I've felt so alone and lost since my legs began swelling up. In constant pain struggling. I just tried this and my legs feel INSTANTLY better. I'll be trying this every day and hope to see a change! Thank you so much!
You guys really helped me turn the corner, mentally, after abdominal surgery. Nobody warned me about leg swelling, or told me how common it is after surgery. So when I woke up with hugely swollen legs a couple days out,, I was in fear and despair. After watching a couple of your clips and taking the advice, I slept well last night for the 1st time in a week. Just lying here doing the simple exercises with you, I begin to feel as if I am truly on the mend. Thanks for that. It's not just info or advice. You gave me hope.
Hang in my friend. Take it from us...stay actively on the exercises. Plenty of us out here in "lymphie land" also deal with the same issues. Hubby had a knee replacement and is diabetic. Try and keep positive - and if you can manage to laugh at some point - hey, so much the better!! Regards from NYC.
I know this is an older video yet I'm seeing it for the first time today. I've been doing a variation of this for my slight swelling of my ankles. Yet this past week I've started working part-time for an older man who has physical therapy at home due to injury from a very serious car accident. I want to help encourage him to do what will be beneficial on days when his physical therapist is not there. It's not "part of my job" as I've been hired to fix breakfast & lunch, assist a bit getting him ready for showers since he has to go up three steps before getting to his chair lift, & then light housework. He's been happy about my input on some nutritional things that I've only learned about due to my own health history & he assures me he'll talk to his doctor, pharmacist, & daughter about making some changes. I love you guys!! You help so many people with the information you share!!! ☮️💞🙏 with extra prayers for Bob's health & Brad's too. 🙏🙏🙏
The massage part made so much sense to me for a reason I already employ: I have waist length hair. In order to brush my scalp and roots, I have to start at the tips. If I STARTED brushing at the roots without clearing the exit point (the tips), I would create a massive tangle after one stroke of the brush. Bob and Brad are saying that we have to massage the exit points first (the pelvis) so that when we bring up toxins from the lower extremities, there is an already cleared path for the toxins to leave.
I was suffering for a little over 2 weeks and decided to come to TH-cam. My pain was so unbearable last night so I had to find something to help. Your other video of this popped up so I watched and tried it. I have to report my legs are not swollen and the pain is almost gone! Omg I can touch my legs! I can't believe it! I'm writing this crying! I was so scared and thought bad thoughts. Health is so important and when it goes bad you freak out. I thank you both so so so much for this! God bless you. I'll be doing this everyday!
@amynoble9145 Hey, congratulations on the novel 🎉🥰🤗♥️🙏🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 May I ask what it is called, from where I can order a copy, and how much it is? I really look forward to hearing from you soon friend🤗🤗🙏🏼🙏🏼👍🏼
I was really suffering from water retention; swollen legs, feet and ankles. Because of this video, I checked out obesity and how it affects the lymph system. Doing the exercises you demonstrated, along with changes to my diet (13lbs lost to date), the swelling is much reduced in both feet and ankles. If peeing was an Olympic sport, I would have a gold medal. Now to tackle the remaining swelling and excess weight. Thank you so much!
My physical therapist pointed out that I have swelling in one leg. I don't know if it is actually lymphedema. I am also overweight. I carry most of my weight in my stomach. I wonder if that is making it so lymph can't drain? But I also had an injury on my left leg years ago
My sister has had lymphedema in her legs for several years, she recently bought a vibration plate and uses it faithfully 10 minutes a day. The difference in her legs has been remarkable!
I was diagnosed with idiopathic cyclical edema (which means "we don't know";). It wasn't too bad in the summer, but it haunted me most of the winter. Lasix meds helped, which rules out veinous insufficiency and congestive heart failure. So we continued hunting around. Had an image of my liver done. As an aside the radiologist referenced an unusual amount of water in my belly. I knew he was going to find it. I intentionally ate half of a pizza 48 hours before the image. I rarely ate pizza because I would feel lousy the next day and some or a lot of swelling would start. Who or what was the rat in the woodpile? My Nutritionist. At 60, I decided to find out about nutrition for my Golden years. He put me on the American Low-fat Diet. Within 2 years the edema started, and would last for 6 years.... until I went back to my Atkins-like low carb diet. I had been on it for about 20 years prior, and with an occasional slip or two my weight had been good. I had gotten fat on the Low-fat diet (which I'm certain didn't help any), but a somewhat carbless diet got me back into shape. But first and foremost, the swelling STOPPED within a few weeks of firing my Nutritionist.;) Folks, these B&B exercises are great. But you have to at least try a Low-Carb diet. I'm not a zealot for Low-carbmania, but there is no doubt about its curative effect on me. I have been swelling-free for 11 months and don't anticipate it ever again. Try low-carb for a few months. Just try it and decide for yourself.
The background and explanation for the swelling in simple terms is much appreciated - I never sought an explanation from my physician and my physician never fully explained. Thank you for the exercises.
I have edema and your routine is EXCELLENT because I learned from You tube first and later PT..you're the BEST on and off the internet (in many people's opinion 😀).Used these after knee replacement surgery. BTW many people cannot begin to reach down, etc. A soft bristled bath brush with long handle is great. Learned some simple but excellent tips from India on TH-cam...had to pause and run to 🚽! I can't thank you enough, I have learned more from you guys than I ever would from doctors!🏆
@@maryannbolobanic9801 l'm sorry l don't know much about it n just saw your comment. I assume same thing wb good .. keep salt low n check your labels. I eat no processed food instead lots of greens n fruits. If you can keep moving even from a chair doing circles . Compression stockings are essential in my case. I have gotten rid of most of swelling. If you want to tell me a bit more about it l wish you luck my friend!
@@janicejacome Thank you so much...I inherited Lipidema.. ( Became more pronounced after menopause) I will undergo water assisted liposuction to treat same... I wore Jobst stockings throughout my career. Retired. I was a nurse for 46 years!! Also use trampoline for rebounding.
Thank you for your comment. I just had knee replacement surgery last week having lymphedema for awhile before. What's your status now? Does this really help and how ? Thanks
Hello. BOB AND BRAD. I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR VAST MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE WITH US .EVERY LESSON HAS BEEN A BLESSING.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
“This is all very basic, and I hope it helps.” Bob, Brad and now Mike are helping us all have a better quality of life. Doctors don’t encourage lymph massage. Doctors don’t recommend exercises to help your conditions. Thank you and well wishes to Bob. You are the best physical therapists on the internet, in my opinion, of course.
In 2016 was diagnosed with cancer of the womb and therefore had to have a hysterectomy. Lymph nodes were also removed and the consultant advised that the side effect would be thick ankles. I wore lymphedema stockings for 3 years but also suffered with urticaria (hives, nettle rash) really bad. Discovered from a skin specialist in my own surgery that the urticaria was caused by pressure on my body. Thus the stockings causing the pressure. Stopped wearing them but each night I put my legs up high which really helps the swelling to decrease. Thank you for the message info . I will start that as well. Look forward to future videos.
I just did this for fun at bedtime because I watch Bob and Brad for many other things. It's 11:00 p.m. and my feet and legs feel significantly lighter and happier! I may need to do this every night! Thank you so much for your time, Gentlemen!
I love Bob & Brad’s effortless dynamic duo chemistry and they give such great physical therapy tips for anyone of any age. I’m 30 years old and I feel so grateful to know the tips they teach at a young age so I can do the best for my body by taking preventative and proactive measures for my muscles and joints before encountering irreparable damage later in life.
Excellent video. I am 62 and we are experiencing a summer in the 100 plus degree range which has caused swelling in my feet and ankles if I am outside much. I had tried some yoga videos to resolve the issue, but this makes so much more sense!
Thank you. I will try this. I'll be 70 next March and blessed with good health all my life. I walk my dog every day without fail if only for a few blocks. I've noticed over the past few years that my socks are making indentations around my lower calf, my ankle bones are not as visible, my ankles and feet seem a bit thicker. I could not find socks with a loose enough cuff to prevent the indentations. I notice if I wear socks all day that there is a very mild pain in the lower leg. I resort to going barefoot in Winter so the swelling can recede even though I hate cold feet and chilly drafts. Your exercises seem to be a reasonable solution and I look forward to the probable results. I notice also that my feet and lower legs are prone to sudden and extremely painful cramps. My toes will literally curl. Sometimes the cramps wake me up from a sound sleep and I have to get up on my feet as swiftly as possible to ward off the pain. Its a rude awakening. Hot water sometimes helps, but mostly the only relief is to walk until the cramp lets go. If I'm out in public, I have to take off my shoes so my feet have more liberty to flex. Maybe the cramps and swelling are related?
Wow, guys, You don't know how much I appreciate you making this video. I developed leg lymphedema after I had my left knee replaced in 2010. It's a miserable condition and of course there's no cure. I went to see a physical therapist but was told there was nothing they could do for me. I finally found a massage specialist but it still is a pain 7 years later. I only knew 5 of the 10 exercises and I'm glad to know there are more I can try. Hopefully you can do more videos on lymphedema.
Awesome video...battled lymphedema, from auto accident ,12 years ago, sept.2019 had my neighbors pit bull dog chomp on a surgical scar, from the auto accident...finished 32 lymphedema treatments with 2 physical therapists at muhlenburg hospital in Bethlehem, pa...
As always, a great video. My husband, age 78, was diagnosed with this last week! A nurse at the doctor's off said "Don't drink so much water" My skin stills crawls when I think of it. Thank you for your videos. They are so appreciated.
I'm with you, Judy. I never listen to nurses, assistants, or whatever they are in a doctor's office. Actually, back in '11, I was making same mistake. Suffering from urinary in continence (am now 65), I greatly reduced liquids. Ended up with kidney failure!
@@rubyparchment5523 THANK goodness for the internet and these 2 GENIUSES. We have all we need at the tip of our fingers and I have been through SO, SO MUCH and these gentlemen never steered me wrong. Good luck!
I hope you got a new doctor. You can literally die from dehydration. A good friend of mine was hospitalized for a week for dehydration. The doctor said she nearly killed herself by restricting water!
My mum was told the same thing😱. I was like how are you gonna not get dehydrated that way and then being dehydrated alsom makes you retain water which also makes you swollen 🤦🏻♀️
Thank you gentlemen for one fantastic lesson. Over a million views. Today was the first time I thought "maybe something can be done about these swollen ankles." The MASSAGE starts at 8:04
Fantastic video, I will try these suggestions today. Thank you for what your doing. Lymphodema is so painful and debilitating. I can’t wait to try these suggestions out.
I have lymphedema in my lower right extremity. I'm so glad this video came up for me! I'm glad to have more insight into the condition and how to help myself while I wait to get into a clinic for lymphedema locally. Thank you for this post!
If you are taking amlodipine as a BP medication, that will cause leg edema. My husband suffered with a problem in his right leg also then he saw a cardiologist who told him the amlodipine was the cause. His leg went back to normal as soon as he stopped taking it.
@@ahava3838 that’s causing edema. Not lymphedema. Completely different conditions. Diuretics would’ve helped him or as you said cutting the Beta blockers, ARBs etc. that would have 0 effect on lymphedema

I started rebounding so so good for getting the lymph moving in your body. Well, that was what I read and researched. Guess what, what a difference with only a few minutes per day and I’m near 70.
@MTknitter22 I started rebounding, too!! But sometimes my leg is worse after. I can't figure it out. I'm so glad it's working for you!!! Hopefully the more I do it the better it will get!!
Thank you both for your video! I went undiagnosed for years and when a doctor finally did diagnose me I was at the worst stage of the condition. I've also developed lymphorrhea, aka 'Leaky Leg' on both legs now. Here's the stupid reason why I went undiagnosed for so long. During the 2 plus years of medical school most doctors spend less than 30 minutes learning about the lymphatic system.
Mine agreed with my own diagnosis, sent me to the “specialist” who confirmed it and told me to buy compression tights! No diet, no wrapping, no massage, no p.t., no other suggestions! After, I read that wrapping and massage can keep it from progressing. Most folks are on their own with it.
Thank You so much , you two gentlemen (Doctors of physical therapy) are the BEST you Doctors have the knowledge ,patience and MOST of ALL the Kindness to Share your knowledge with the Public , May the LORD Bless you Always **Thanks again God Bless**
@@timyatcak3292 why are you so mean ? They really are trying to help people , some cannot even afford to go to a doctor , please be kinder it will be rewarding for you, stay safe !
Wow! This is fabulous! I have had Edema for over six years! My VA Dr. pokes at it and says oh still swollen... no other suggestion. Glad, my finger doesn't stay descended in your skin or that would be a problem. Again No suggestions.. So I decided to get Acupuncture, I have a good Chinese Acupuncturist and he is doing wonders. He wants me to soak my feet every night in two rice bowls of Epsom Salts. I try to do that. But then I read to do the Stairs; I am on the Fourth Flr next to the Exit stairs. That is my next goal. To me it seems if I read it right and watching your video that the stairs, two flights 3 times a Day, three times a week will be equal to these exercises. I was doing some of this on my own, just automatically thought it would work. The toes wiggling, ankle circling, the other clam shell, etc. But I now see more structure from your instructions! This is Perfect. Another thing I asked about is 'Grounding'; putting your bare feet on the Earth. My Acu Dr. said even better dig a hole and put your feet in the Earth up to your knees that is very Good for Edema! I live near the Ocean, will get a shovel and go there; he advised me to do that too! I have stopped eating my Brie Cheese, Butter, etc. He advised me to do that, I love Cheese. I have cut way back he said 20%, I now it about 5%. No Brie in three weeks! Thank you for such a great lesson on this, it is so hard to find information about Edema. I heard that Doctors are given 15 minutes of instruction in Med School on Edema! 15 MINUTES!! Are you kidding me? How I got such a hellacious Edema he said is from trauma -falls, hitting my head, too much Stress, Depression, etc.; that blocked my Energy!! I have been through Hell Since 2011! Oh yes I am getting much better. I have a Long way to go, but I am on my WAY! Yippee!!!
Thank you for educating people on the massage techniques. I love that you demonstrated the need to massage to accompany the wraps. I also appreciate that you mentioned NOT ace wraps. I am a lymphedema therapist (OT).
The results I've had are miraculous. In just one day, my ankles and calves were back to normal. Thank you so much for light on lymphedema therapy! My plantar fasciitis is also so much better, because of you kind physical therapists! Please don't stop sharing your knowledge. I recommend your videos to "all who suffer". Sorry you weren't liked as children. I'm sure it's different now :) Thank you again.
This might sound stupid, but since I injured my back this winter, I've had puffy feet and ankles, and I'd been trying NOT to move them too much, because I was thinking of it like injury swelling, I guess. I watched this video this morning and have been doing the little ankle and foot exercises all day, and lo and behold, my feet are already looking more normal. Thank you for putting this out there - my doc gave me exercises for my back, but never addressed taking care of my lower extremities while healing. Edited to add: today my feet fit comfortably into dress shoes! Thank you so much!
Great info! I'll add this to my mornings. It being summer, the heat exasperates the condition, and I hate taking lasik everyday. Stretching, and massage seem to be the main things that make an immediate difference
Thank you for this video. I’m 4 months post op from TKR and my leg has been swollen and red ever since. My surgeon told me it’s normal and could last a year or more. I just discovered I have a lipoma on my thigh the size of a 1/2 cantaloupe and it’s on a nerve that goes down to my knee and am headed for an ultrasound today then to see a surgeon. My mental and physical state are not ready for another surgery. I can’t wait to get back home and try these exercises. I pray I don’t have to go through another surgery. I’m petrified. My TKR leg is 3” bigger than my non surgical knee. Again thanks and am watching all your videos. I appreciate y’all very much. I’m 74 btw. Bless y’all. PS: Ultrasound on my thigh shows not a lipoma so this coming Tuesday I go for an MRI and my doctor put me on Gabapentin which I said I’d never take again. Well I’m taking it and praying I don’t put on the weight like I did after my back surgery. At this point I really don’t care. Just stop that nerve pain and I’m praying it will keep me from having another surgery.
Hi the best therapists I've ever known. Due to aging i have had some problems and you are my heros. I've just watched this video and started doing the exercise that i believe will be very helpful. I appreciate for your help. ❤
This had made my life so much better, thank you! I started having episodes of lymphedema after 1.5 years of a Gastric sleeve surgery (and half of me in weight gone). It was making me miserable because I use mostly power walking as exercise and for my mental health. A swollen leg would make this both painful and awkward (the foot becomes so big I cannot put shoes on for 1-2 days and can hardly bend it. It takes about 5 days for the swelling to go down. It takes 24 hours if I do these regularly and during the episodes (together with a little bit of massage).
If you are taking amlodipine as a BP medication, that will cause leg edema. My husband suffered with a problem in his right leg also then he saw a cardiologist who told him the amlodipine was the cause. His leg went back to normal as soon as he stopped taking it.
@@ahava3838yep, it’s making my legs swell now. It’s been a few months since I was prescribed and it’s gradually getting worse. I got sunburn on my hand and forehead last week and they swelled up for several days.😮Thankyou for your comment!
Amazing! First of all I am not into doctors, etc, I self care. I'm 74, and haven't been sick since 1999. But I did start getting pain in my knees, then on my legs. Maybe that is what I have, but I don't really have swelling. The "amazing" has to do with the fact that I have been doing most of the same exercises out of who knows were, when I wake up in the morning, to be able to walk with little pain. Glad this old video showed up out of nowhere, to show me some other exercises to add to the routine. I guess my guardian angel has been helping. LOL
Love this! Good for you!! Drs tend to make us sicker! I had knee pain and started using collagen powder. It mixes well in hot beverages....Maybe that will help you too.
In discussion with my friend she said that she will never make payment to any medication when I ask why? She said four consecutive times she ordered and she didn't see any, I feel for her anyway because is not easy to be disappointed but, I told her my product is arriving US tomorrow according to DR RORPOPOR HERBAL on TH-cam and it was so, not only that I got healed just within 17days of usage. And my friend who said over her dead body will she order for any medication is now asking me to give her the doctor number. May you live long to heal more souls....
Thanks for all you clips guys, you've helped me move forward from issues I've suffered from and always make me laugh with your light hearted approach🙂👍👍

I am going to try all of these. Since I’ve now been working from home since the beginning of COVID last year, I don’t get up as much from my chair while I’m working and I’ve got a lot of swelling in my feet and calves. It’s terrible and can be painful. So I will definitely do these exercises to help my fluid retention in my feet and legs
I am so happy you both are here to help people. I have followed your advice and over the past few months I have been helped greatly. I can lift my arm without pain, the swelling in my legs and feet went down etc. once again thank you. Oh and thank you for being so cheerful too.
I just learned tonight what or that O have a problem in my other leg which should be seen by a doctor Brad & Bob are excellent therapist for the people
After a fall wherein I landed squarely on my left knee, I noticed my leg appeared enlarged from my thigh down through my calf and has remained this way ever since. This happened March 2021. There is no blood clot, no soft tissue mass. However a CT scan showed fluid under the skin on one area of my outer thigh. Doc said it was most likely brought about from the trauma of the fall. No PT was ever recommended. I will definitely be trying these exercises.
M A yeah, I was doubtful too. But then I got bad leg swelling because the knee braces I was wearing were a bit too tight for me legs. I thought they’d be fine, because I felt a ton of support and my leg pain went away but when I took them off my legs looked like they didn’t even belong to me. I was terrified that I might’ve gotten diabetes. So I went online to try and find was to get rid of the swelling and nobodies remedies were working for me, then I found this channel. Didn’t think it was even worth trying, but my bf just told me I should at least give it a try, don’t really have anything to loose by just trying. But I was shocked and so happy afterwards, my legs went back to normal. So since then whenever I have something I need info about I hop onto their channel and browse their videos. I actually just got something they did a video about. It’s called Theraworx Relief. It’s for muscle pain, cramps, spasms etc, it works so freakin good. I thought Lidocaine was great, but Theraworx is on it’s own level. Don’t really like the smell but it gets the job done in minutes. Sorry for such a long reply lol But I definitely suggest you check out more of their videos, their techniques have helped me a lot. Cheers 🍻 😊

EXCELENT description of the vacuum effect. It works on my eyes, face and sinuses (Plug: Motivational Doc). I had not been told about the breathing technique being used before the legs. I believe it will work well with the paint roller as an extension of the arm suggestion from another website (Lymphedema: Leg Manual Drainage & Massage, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Date: December 2009). My CVI was improving with elevation and nutrition, etc. My skin is thicker now. Your advice is great! THANK YOU!

You guys were correct about blood pressure with Edema. I checked with my losartan dosages, and upped my 50 mg's to 100. The swelling went down dramatically. I'm going to do these exercises. I truly thank you..
Wow. Thank you so much! This is so helpful. My ankles have swollen to the size of softballs a few times since I had Covid-19 in Dec. 2021. My toes were purple tonight when I took off my socks & shoes & I had some bruising around my ankles & feet. Ive been so worried about cardiovascular problems! Your video made me realize that I wore super tight pants each time my ankles swelled! Working hard on my feet in tight pants all day must have blocked "the dam" at my belly button & caused swelling in my ankles from fluid build up. Im doing your exercises in my bed now. Putting feet on the wall is perfect in lieu of a wedge. I never would have thought to massage the groin & belly area to draw fluid away from the feet, but it seems to be helping already. Thank you so much! I took pictures & videos to show my doctor & took an asprin, just in case. Thanks so much! Oh, yes, and I am very good at diaphragmatic breathing. Thanks guys! Youre lifesavers! 💖🙏🏼😇😇 P.S. I recently increased my salt intake to help with electrolyte imbalance issues but must have been by too much. Will reduce salt & try to find a healthy medium.
Stacie, I have the same issues. I was low on sodium bc of my gout. It caused severe leg cramping and some edema in the ankles. Did you find the right amount? I found 1/2 teaspoon salt = 1,150 mg. sodium. I put this in a shot glass and put it in whatever I’m eating or drinking. Starting with 1/8 Tsp per food item. And I watch for swelling throughout the day.
@@carolesmall-diop2333 how long does the effect stay? Like how much time you have to sit and stand before legs start to swell? Or the effect stays all day??
I'm 62 and got diagnosed 4 years ago with lymphedema. I had had swelling and lumps and discoloration in my lower legs for many years the discoloration started around my ankles but over time had worked its way up almost all the way to my knees it wasn't until my skin actually started to crack and I got open wounds when I was diagnosed with the lymphedema. At first the discoloration and slight swelling had been diagnosed as contact dermatitis by time the lymphedema was diagnosed I was stage 4. It could have been very different have I been diagnosed correctly at a younger age I suffered now a lot. However the massage does help and if you don't have anyone to help you with the massage one person suggested to me using what they called a weenie roller paint roller with an extended handle to get the toes into the rest of the body it works great. just a suggestion
Cheryl, thank you for posting your experience. I hope you're on the right path for finding a good treatment. My father had the same, and it started as you described. I am terrified about ending up with the same condition, so at age 55, I am making some much needed lifestyle changes to do everything I can to prevent the same from happening to me.
im youre classic sympton I had all of those, started with blood not going up my legs as fast as it went down, I had ucler which resulted in FIVE YEARS of having my leg wrapped up tight because of swelling! Very lucky to be alive and guess what,,,,my legs havent had to be wrapped up since feb 022 , since my heart attack cos they dont swell.. Im on fluid tablets daily to stop build up of fluid but ive understood more from this video than any dr has ever told me, thank you

I have lymphedema in both legs. I went through a physical therapy program and lost 90cm combined for both legs. Before I do my massages, I was instructed to open my lymph nodes by massaging them. I have to wear my stockings every day, the only time I take them off is to go to bed and shower. The program I went through changed the quality of my life so much. Prior to the program I was always falling, not realizing it was my enormous left calf that was making me fall. My left calf is still bigger than the right, but I am happy with my results.
everwisegroup.com I don’t remember the first time but I had a flare in both legs recently due to surgery. I went once a week so I think it took 3 weeks for each leg.
THANK YOU ❣️when I tell other people about you I say you know Bob and Brad the two most famous physical therapists on the internet? And they always start laughing because I say the whole spiel. You guys are charming and cheerful. And you make this world a better place , believe me. 🙋
I have swollen ankles and feet. But the reason for that is all the effervescent tablets I take. That medicine contains to much sodium. But with this great video I can now do exercises. I also have arthritis in both knees. The right knee is the one that hurts the most. But tanks to Bob and Brad. I have seen so many videos that have been so helpful. I just love those two guys.❤
Nice job, Bob and Brad. You have covered exercises well here for lymphedema of the legs. Just remember to add that people should see a Certified Lymphedema Therapist for more personalised advice and direction - these CLT's can be PT's, OT's, RN's, LMT's .... any professional with 130+ hours of training in lymphedema therapy. Cheers!!

It's so great that we have these instructions by just opening TH-cam. Thank you gentlemen! Now if you would tell us how to get a practitioner to agree when we say Bob & Brad mentioned instead of resenting us getting info off the internet.
Like your relaxed attitude - reminds me of Laurel and Hardy 😁😅😄 Thank you for this video, Helps me deal with side effects while recovering from a broken ankle. 🌷🍷 🌹🌹
Wow, thank you. I have suffered with edema my entire adult life. My legs look like fat baby legs, with creases around the knees and cankles, and some days you can’t see the tendons moving in my feet. It’s not fat, it’s fluid buildup. Salt avoidance helps but the problem is made worse by the fact I have naturally low blood pressure (90/50 to 110/70) and have always had fainting spells when I try to be active because my lower leg veins don’t react to positional changes (now on meds to raise my blood pressure to see if that helps). I’m hoping the lower leg exercises may strengthen the muscles and help with the fainting as well.
Try sleeping with feet raised and then support stockings. Don't get up from bed, etc. too quickly. I was told my heart was OK but l think l'm going for 2nd opinion. Good luck!
@@janicejacome already do ALL that, plus other things not mentioned. I’ve been put through so many tests, scans, worn monitors, stress tests, tilt table tests, MRI’s, EKG’s, Ultrasounds...one doctor said it’s amazing I don’t glow in the dark (jokingly of course).
This is crazy. I've felt so alone and lost since my legs began swelling up. In constant pain struggling. I just tried this and my legs feel INSTANTLY better. I'll be trying this every day and hope to see a change! Thank you so much!

ExcellentBob and Brad! No one has ever suggested these exercises…….thank you!
I really like the rounded Hmf
Fuller Brush Co. hair brush. Natural bristles. Less damage to hair.
So what do you use on your hair
Great analogy!
A very good way of explaining it.
Now what's the position of your sister tell me pls
Can you possibly give the name of the vibration plate that she bought?
please I'd like to know also
What is a vibration plate?
@@cyndieK1it looks like a weight scale but it vibrates. You put your feet on it while you are sitting down. The vibration massages your legs.
Yep, you're totally right! Woo hoo!

Hello. BOB AND BRAD. I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR VAST MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE WITH US .EVERY LESSON HAS BEEN A BLESSING.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
All this is awesome thank you so much for three things that I never thought AboutGod is good
“This is all very basic, and I hope it helps.” Bob, Brad and now Mike are helping us all have a better quality of life.

If you are taking amlodipine as a BP medication, that will cause leg edema. My husband suffered with a problem in his right leg also then he saw a cardiologist who told him the amlodipine was the cause. His leg went back to normal as soon as he stopped taking it.

Yes!!! Been doing all of these intuitively for years.

Really? I'm doubting, but glad u said they helped. CKD

This is more helpful than anything I was paying for with a local pt. Thanks so much!
You folks mentioned issues after getting total knee replacements! I wish I saw your work before I had this done! You are the FIRST folks to mention what needs to be done after surgery (4 years ago). You folks are a blessing. Thank you
Never was told about side effects from knee replacements, Neuropathy came first and two years later, I have Lymphodema . will do these exercises as it seems they will help. I am still glad I had the knee replacements as it was so painful to walk. Thank you.
Bless your kind hearts, this Former nurse loves your lessons! You helped my baby brother have less back pain , due to a video previously you shared! Kudos!

THANK YOU!
You are very welcome!
Great informative video's. My feet swells in the heat in the summer. Also my right foot swelled. Started my right heel moved down to my large toe very painful.
Men thank you so much this really works I'm not scared anymore, thanks for info to go and have a better and more productive talk with my doctor she is great and will tell you like it is thanks again love you guys!
Outstanding job! Love that you explained the diaphragmatic breathing and lymph node massage and the importance of working proximal to distal! Great job!

Ì have lymphoedema in my left leg because I had all the arterial lymph nodes stripped from my pelvis during a radical hysterectomy . I will start these immediately, thank you from the Scottish Highlands .
Love this pair! Great info, excellent examples and wonderful sense of humor!
Thanks!
Thanks! Sending positive vibes your way!

I have lipedema and the exercises work good for this also. I always start with the stomach exercise first. Thank you.
You guys were correct about blood pressure with Edema. I checked with my losartan dosages, and upped my 50 mg's to 100. The swelling went down dramatically. I'm going to do these exercises. I truly thank you..
What did I miss about BP and edema, Please??
@@TeacherMom80 Thanks for the info I’ll check this out
Thank You Brad and Bob for sharing such helpful information.
Thanks you two. Just had hip surgery a week ago and my leg is still swelling!
Tried these exercises and got relief. Thank you very much. God bless you
Thank you, Brad and Bob 💖💖💖💖💖 I was struggling for so long... It's a great relief! Great channel!
Had some lymph nodes removed, I have this swelling in.the morning 🌄. My doctor gave exercises. I AM liking this.😊
Tried out the exercises and they're incredibly effective! Thanks!
Did it help the swelling go down
I had same question. Not sure we're going to get an answer 😶
@@TheTuffOnes It did for me. I've been doing them daily morning and night for three days and my affected leg is a bit smaller and my shoes are looser!
@@carolesmall-diop2333 how long does the effect stay? Like how much time you have to sit and stand before legs start to swell? Or the effect stays all day??
Thank you for these simple effective breathing and exercises to treat lymphademia.
Can you try compression stockings?
Cheryl, thank you for posting your experience. I hope you're on the right path for finding a good treatment. My father had the same, and it started as you described. I am terrified about ending up with the same condition, so at age 55, I am making some much needed lifestyle changes to do everything I can to prevent the same from happening to me.
@@amg9163 good for you. Changing your diet to a generally plant based will help. Especially the leafy greens and cut out the sugars and carbs.
From what you describe, you also have venous insufficiency!

im youre classic sympton I had all of those, started with blood not going up my legs as fast as it went down, I had ucler which resulted in FIVE YEARS of having my leg wrapped up tight because of swelling! Every dr and nurse ignored my symtons. How did it end....i had two heart attacks in the same day! Xray showed massive fluid around my heart. Very lucky to be alive and guess what,,,,my legs havent had to be wrapped up since feb 022 , since my heart attack cos they dont swell.. Im on fluid tablets daily to stop build up of fluid but ive understood more from this video than any dr has ever told me, thank you
That was an eye opener...so many things I wrongly assumed...thank you, gentlemen for sharing! What a difference your exercises and "massages" makes!
Thank u

Since doing your exercises my ankles no longer swell this is after years discomfort you are amazing Thankyou
I just did this once and the pain in my legs has reduced significantly already. Thank you Bob and Brad for this video.
I enjoyed the conversation Kathy Bates, gave on Lymphadema, I have it in both legs, and I watched the video of the two gentlemen showing you exercises for the illness, I learned from both, more actually then I learned from doctors here. I hope I can do something myself to help my situation. Thanks so much,
Thank you so very much for sharing. I’ve tried all of these techniques and the same night I noticed decreased swelling in my ankle. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Once again thank you so very much!!!😀
You are welcome! What great news that the swelling has decreased! Keep it up :)
Clear - Concise Information. Thank You I need to hear this as I am so much pain.
Thanks so much to the both of you for making this video. My left foot has been swollen since April 11th and I've been to the doctor but nothing , I'll try these exercises hopefully I get better. Love your channel
@Dee mii, if you have diabetes or neuropathy, I recommend you see your podiatrist about the foot, same happened with me and I ended up with Charcot Foot, a permanent debilitating foot problem. Hope it's nothing ☺️
If you are taking amlodipine as a BP medication, that will cause leg edema. My husband suffered with a problem in his right leg also then he saw a cardiologist who told him the amlodipine was the cause. His leg went back to normal as soon as he stopped taking it.
My mum was put on furosemide 40mg 5 years ago and in all that time her feet and leg swelling never improved, until...a visiting nurse just happened to say something no doctor, specialist or previous nurse had mentioned before.."you should lay in bed with legs elevated"...within a week swelling had started to be flushed from the body.. a further two weeks and the progress was literally like a miracle. To explain her state of lymphedema..the swelling on her instep and toes were making her feet look like a balloon.
Wow, in a few minutes so much information. Thank you. Great information.
Thank you so much for your time, for sharing your knowledge. That really help to understand many things and help our body. Blessings.
This was so effective I followed along and minutes later I can feel my ankle bones. Thank you so much.
Do we have to do this empty stomach before breakfast early in the morning???

As grateful as I am for the info, I can't believe I'm old enough to watch it. Getting old sux.
My right lewer limb is lymphoedema .what can i do?

THANK YOU ❣️when I tell other people about you I say you know Bob and Brad the two most famous physical therapists on the internet? And they always start laughing because I say the whole spiel. You guys are charming and cheerful. And you make this world a better place , believe me. 🙋
I say that too, when I talk about them
I have swollen ankles and feet.
Cheers!!
PT = physical therapist, OT = occupational therapist, RN = registered nurse, LMT = licensed massage therapist, CLT = certified lymphedema therapist
My mother was a fantastic Physical Therapist, and I have missed her guidance. I will try using these excersizes, thanks!

Thank you for this video, Helps me deal with side effects while recovering from a broken ankle. 🌷🍷 🌹🌹
Love the humour! Better than those boring videos others have. You explain things so I can understand it. None of that technical stuff.
