Scott Nickerson you have had this bible for awhile. Are you happy with it? I purchased it 4/17/20 & it shipped 4/19 & I’m impatiently waiting! It may be due to the pandemic, and I understand, I’m just eager. Since you own it I’m interested in your opinion.
@@ginamiller6754 I am so sorry I missed this question! I'm sure you have your Bible right now, and this reply will be a moot point, but... Yes, I have had this Bible for about a year, and I love it! It is well-made, I love the feel of it. Plenty of room in the margins. I am hoping it will be my "forever Bible"!
Thanks so much!! I’ve been thrilled with many of your other tips & am going to rely on your recommendation again! I have the large print ESV, personal size & it’s great, but I would love to have the margin to write notes in! I’m very happy this is a red letter version. It’s what I prefer & have had some trouble getting an ESV with it. Thx again pastor Matt!!
@matthew - I have been wanting to invest in an esv wide margin as i love to make notes in the Bible. Now, ESV Heirloom WM Reference Bible would have been my pick, however its not on the market currently so i am seriously considering the Top Grain Leather Black. The newer one looks different to what you reviewed here. My question - how are the top grain different from Heirloom? Is it just the leather or more to it? Thanks in advance.
I was gifted this bible from a friend. I love this bible! I like the proportions of this over the Cambridge. I'm afraid I will cave and purchase the legacy version at some point....
Hi pastor Matt, I've watched quite a few of your Bible reviews and I can't recall if you mentioned your recommendation on a Bible "kit" that would function like your eagle and pitt minion, but at a lesser investment. Perhaps it was this wide margin, and one of the thinlines? Thanks and I appreciate your insight!
Hey all, I’m wanting to get a nice ESV wide margin to study through. Is there any substantial difference in quality/durability between this version and the brown goatskin? Thanks
Wow This is an amazing Bible! I've had the Genuine Leather for a while and it's great! I wanto to upgrade to the top grain leather but when I click the link to amazon, it takes me to the Widemargin Genuine Leather Page.. :/
Crossway should do this very bible with artgilt blue under gold... that would be just amazing! Their goatskin version has a paper way too thin, why did they change the paper? That paper is not good for a note-taker's bible.
I'm currently using the ESV Legacy as my note taker bible, but I really prefer a double column. I have trouble reading bibles that are not line matched . Does this one have line matching?
Not really because the page numbers won’t match. I take care of the Pastors more mundane affairs but the salary is good. Plus I get to donate some of his bibles to ‘a good home’ ; )
This bible has 3-4 blank pages at the end for notes. It has maps and a concordance. I believe the Cambridge has more note pages, including lined note pages.
Love this but want verse by verse. You make some powerful points about this one though. More affordable and I can save to get it since I do not work. Love it. Torn. LOL
I think the new esv preaching bible is verse by verse however single column. The top grain vbv thinline is pretty good however the font is a little to small for me
Finally got my ESV WM by Crossway, thanks to your recommendation Pastor Matt. God bless you.
I just purchased mine today! looking forward to reading through it this year
Likewise. I just got it today 🎉
Bought this Bible today based on your recommendation. Thank you!

You do very detailed reviews brother, pointing out the important things in a very pleasant way.

This is my main Bible. I love it. I am tempted to add art guilding by using archival ink.
Good to know. Did you try this?

As you wish!

Hey Brother. Is the paper thicker in this top-grain compared to the Goatskin variation?
Hey Matt! I decided on the Crossway over the Cambridge. I prefer the thicker paper of the Crossway AND the reference placement. Breaking it in now!
Steven Ridings nice! Happy for you!
Now to deal with the 5 KJO people in my church :o
I am happy for you too! Good reading!
Do you think after time this bible will be as flexible as the eagle...and which margins are bigger.....the eagles look bigger

How nice does this pair with the Psalms?
Crossway should do this very bible with artgilt blue under gold... that would be just amazing! Their goatskin version has a paper way too thin, why did they change the paper? That paper is not good for a note-taker's bible.
wish crossway would just make a single column reference already
I'm currently using the ESV Legacy as my note taker bible, but I really prefer a double column. I have trouble reading bibles that are not line matched . Does this one have line matching?
Line matching-Yes the text is beautiful.
is this bible edge lined or paste down?
What would you pair this Bible with like the Eagle/Pitt Minion combo
Unfortunately, it doesn't have a pair in the same way. :-(
Not really because the page numbers won’t match. I take care of the Pastors more mundane affairs but the salary is good. Plus I get to donate some of his bibles to ‘a good home’ ; )
Matthew what is your current view of the bible after over a year with it? I am in the market and would appreciate any feed back.
It depends how well you care for your bible - after a year it stands up well. Highly recommended
Hi pastor Matt. Does it have extra pages for notes? Maps or Concordance?
It does have maps and concordance but no extra pages for notes.
Is it true that ESV does not display in italics their added words to the English text?
This bible has 3-4 blank pages at the end for notes. It has maps and a concordance. I believe the Cambridge has more note pages, including lined note pages.
This looks worth getting!
Hi, has anyone else done what Eagle/ Pitt Minion has? The same format?
Love this but want verse by verse. You make some powerful points about this one though. More affordable and I can save to get it since I do not work. Love it. Torn. LOL
I think the new esv preaching bible is verse by verse however single column. The top grain vbv thinline is pretty good however the font is a little to small for me
I'd trade a Long Primer for the Top Grain ESV
Seriously, for any one that has one laying around
Brian McClurg I think the LP is probably worth more. :-)
Pastor Brett feel free to arrange between the two of you!
A stunner !
Great review!
I love mine
