Thank you for a great review. The VBV Top Grain bible is a very good bible and easy to read for short periods. However, I got the Topaz when it first came out and while, yes, the font is bigger, the type of font used in the Topaz is much easier on my eyes to read than the Top Grain version. The top grain font seems clipped top and bottom to me compared with the fuller Topaz font. You can't go wrong with either bible, as long as you read it! I have both black and red letter bibles and tend to prefer the black but the red in the Topaz is a good one.
What a nice clean format! Looks like a great one for research. I'm on the fence with red-letter Bibles. I only have one, and I like it for "perusing through His words"...but visually, and overall, I prefer the black letter Bibles.
This is my daily bible! I’m studying theology at the moment so the bold verse markers makes it really helpful going back and forth when using commentaries. I managed to get it on a crazy sale, £25! I wish the CSB Men of Character had put references in the same way this bible does to leave room for note taking.
Red letter or even more to my liking, a blue letter. I can live with a black letter but prefer red or blue letter. Good review. I’m NASB ‘95, 2020, NKJV, NLT, and NIV. I’m reading the ESV digitally and plan on getting a physical copy soon. Thank you for the review.
I found some of the ESV black cowhide at my local Christian store. I saw a couple different ones that seems to have been pushed to the back of the shelves so I wanted to find out more about them. I really like this Bible a lot I have been debating on a ESV reference and the LSB Icr. For red letter I like it if it’s done right. I see too many that the red is just very inconsistent. If it was a nice bold red and uniform throughout then I would love it. Seeing so many with inconsistent red letter I have been staying to the black letter Bibles.
All the reviews i see of this one show a 2011 text edition considering Crossway published it on July 31, 2015. The only reason i haven't bought this one is i thought i couldn't get it in the 2016 text edition. How did you get your hands on a 2016 text edition version?
Gotta have a black letter Bible! This bible stands out to me compared to the ESV classic reference bible (which is red letter). Very appealed to this one. Love the vbv, size, and layout, book introductions and margins of this one!
I also like good line spacing. And 9 pt type is perfect. My main ESV is the ESV wide margin, 9 pt type. The the verse by verse looks good but I like have plenty of margin in the gutter. I don't really have much of a preference between red or black letter. But I would love it if Crossway would use a contrasting color, like blue Chapter numbers, just add a touch of color....like Thomas Nelson does. 😊
I don’t think about it much to be honest. Cause no one really knows. I love the life God has blessed me with and I know I’ll live eternity even more. So until Christ comes back or I take my last breath. I’ll be here plugging along 😁
Ok...so I want to be more thorough...lol. The Preaching VBV is right at about 1 3/4" thick by 10 3/4" x 7 1/2... this bible (in the video) is at 1 1/2" thick by 9 3/4" x 6 3/4". Hope that helps. This is my wife's daily driver and she loves it. @@conangibbs
I’m not sure. I have never find a solid answer on that… By 36 GSM seems to be kind of a industry standard at the moment for the nicer Bibles. And it does feel nice. It feels on the thicker side.
Don't really have a preference in "Black-letter vs. Red-letter." I've got examples of both (started w/ red-letter editions), and I do appreciate how one can "zoom in" on the words of Christ easier w/ the different tint . . . IF one can read it; I can understand how some people can have difficulty w/ red-letter (my issue is more-and-more getting to be font size). I find it interesting that more colors are being used (don't have a "blue-letter text" Bible yet). VERY NICE ESV there! P.S. "Don't study the Bible DURING Church!" Maybe BEFORE? You get there early, you're sitting there waiting . . .
Ha! Yes. Don’t study during church. Lol. Hopefully everyone knew what o meant. Lol. And great comments on black/red! Good to see you on the comments again!!
Man, neither of these match the Holman Handcrafted CSB Verse-by-Verse Bible. The goatskin cover and the interior layout are simply majestic. The red highlights add a lot of class. And...the CSB offering doesn't have the text getting that close to the gutter. EDIT: Actually, the cross references in the Topaz look a lot easier to deal with.
On red-letter vs black-letter, some people put too much emphasis on the red-letters at the expense of the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16 says all scripture is God-breathed, not just the red letters. However, I wouldn't not buy a Bible because it was a red-letter edition.
Yeah. I’ve heard from some folks who feel that way. And they’re not wrong. We should “overemphasize “ the red letters as it’s all Gods word. But the red doesn’t bother me. I don’t tend to think if it much when reading. Thanks for the comments!!

That’s probably one of the best every day bibles that I have seen. Just looks so clean and no fuss or distractions. Love it! Thanks for the review.
It’s pretty nice. I may have to buy myself one. Haha!
Thanks for your reviews! I really like them a lot.
My pleasure!! Glad they’re helpful! Soli Deo Gloria
Nice bible and review...thank you!
My pleasure! Glad to be able to do it. Thanks for the comments.

Verse by Verse > Paragraph format. This is one I do not have in my collection yet. Thanks for the review my friend.
It’s a good one. My wife is taking this one over. But it may cause me to switch back to physical bibles. 😳 I may have to buy myself one. Hahaha

Great daily Bible! What are you studying. Any specific area of Theology? Apologetics? Hermeneutics? Hope it’s going well. Thanks for the comments!
Thanks! 😊 Just finished the last module of the year, Introduction to NT Greek.

Yeah. Old live a blue letter edition from crossway. I have a new NKJV coming out with beautiful blue letters and verse numbers
Hey Steve , what’s your favorite Bible verse ?
My favorite is Hebrews 4:12
Favorite verse…oh man. I’ll have to think about that one.
@@ClaimingChristianity hey do you think the rapture is happening soon ? I’m just curious I think it might, I kinda hope it is I miss my aunt .

@@ClaimingChristianity wow that’s true , thanks for answering, hope i don’t get annoying
I can’t find a comparison on the size of this one with the ESV Preaching Bible, Verse by Verse. Is this one smaller, or fairly similar?
Smaller! Or at least thinner and less “bulky” I love my ESV Preaching VBV but it is on the bigger side.
Thank you. I also love my Preaching Bible, VBV, but it’s too bulky to carry around. I think I’ll give this one a shot.
@conangibbs it’s a nice bible for sure

Does anyone know the gsm of the paper? I know Crossway did use 36gsm on some of their other trutones. Not sure about this one.
I’m not sure. I have never find a solid answer on that… By 36 GSM seems to be kind of a industry standard at the moment for the nicer Bibles. And it does feel nice. It feels on the thicker side.
I had the Trutone variant of this. The paper seemed far superior compared to their other Trutone offerings. That's all I can offer.
@@WilliamSwartzendruber … great news. I have a trutone copy of this on order.
Oh great! This is one I don’t own and now I want it! 😂
😆 sorry…not sorry. Hahahaha
Other than being a VbV it looks very similar to the $35 one from Truth For Life.
I prefer black letter bibles although it is not really a “deal breaker” for me. I enjoyed your review. Thank you.
Thanks for the comments. I’m always curious. And my pleasure!!

That’s a nice Bible
Yes sir it is.
No red letter! At 57, red ink on white paper is almost always harder to read.
Yeah. Us color blind guys have trouble too. I like blue letter.
The words looked blue until you held the Bible closer to the screen.
I wish they were all blue letter lol!!
@@ClaimingChristianity that would be cool and unique.

CSB puts out a real nice product. But this…for a production Bible…is real nice.
