you know, I actually cannot understand why a strong woman base would like this show at all....like, I got no idea. Since when does ''strong woman base" = love for dumb middle aged woman having gross sex? I don't get the appeal at all. I'm pretty sure it has horrible ratings in real life.
You did an excellent job of this review but just for your own sake consider reviewing things that are good for your mental and emotional health. Hugs kid.
It's simple, Cooper was paying for everything. They used his house for the kids, he funded all the utilities and necessities for the home, paid for the live in nanny, most likely was paying spousal support if not temporary child support as well, he was paying for anything the kids needed (there's no way Hudson wasn't in a private school) he paid for her grad program, and possibly had to pay (in part at least) for her apartmen. So yeah, it would be esay for her to afford her lifestyle and not have to work.
Housewife porn. Fulfilling fantasies of middle aged women. "The guy who would show how much he loves me even if it embarrasses him in front of his boss. I'm more important to him than his job or reputation and he risks his job to prove that." In real life somebody expecting this from a partner should go to therapy for this kind of toxic expectations.
I’m so fucking sick of this “female sexual enlightenment at the cost of the mental health and stability of everyone around them” trope. It’s not empowering, and if you’ve ever known women that act like this makes it 100 times worse
I think all Netflix shows should have Brad showing up suddenly. Just for no reason. Like Emily in Paris, she’s having sex on the Ferris wheel and then from under the seat, guess who, it’s Brad
Stop me if you've heard this exact plotline before: Writer introduces the MC and her partner who is, for all intents and purposes, a super chill loving dude whose only "crime" is being vanilla. Oh what's this? It's a Bad Boy with a loose understanding of boundaries and consent! Wow writer, what will you do to create meaningful drama here? Will you have the MC grapple with these emotions, have her discuss her feelings with her husband and let them explore different sexual experiences (maybe even a threesome/polyamory)? No? What's that? You're going to turn the partner into a one dimensional creep/abuser so the MC can have guilt-free sex with someone else? So groundbreaking.
God, the way I hate this. Why is writing communication always so hard? It's fine if the character's struggle with it, it really is. That's human. You don't have to villainize one to justify cheating, regardless of gender.
@@joyc.e.7511 cause sadly most writers believe lack of communication is a fun and interesting way to create narrative, even though it’s the opposite and other shows have proven otherwise. Different genre but literally the show Ted Lasso has every character at some point communicate their issues and it being solved through said communication
@@joyc.e.7511 exactly. I wish they would just let the MC cheat without justifying it, I would have a much better time watching or reading the story than being pissed at the MC for cheating when they could’ve just broke up with their partner and moved on.
You described pretty much what I felt in my heart watching the series and I love you for that lol. Btw. I don’t know if it was just me, but anyone felt it like me: The sex scene, after Cooper finds Billie‘s journal absolutely terrified me. I was like „is it consensual or already a r***e?“
Ahhh S*x/Life. The show where a Psychology student, with not 1 but 2 (presumably many more) Psychologist and/or therapist friends, is having a unsatisfactory s*x life and not once in its 8 HOUR run does anyone suggest she sit down and talk with her husband and work things out. Because its not like that discipline of field of study is big on communication.
Honestly, i felt awful for HUDSON! Him just being a victim of crazy sex maniacs hoping to grab any tint of satisfaction they can from literally anywhere and ignoring the poor soul with all their might.
Here's a thought: i think cheating is a fetish for a lot of people, and writing these scenarios IS an expression of that kink. I think that has been the case for a LONG time, but as a society, we don't really want to have that conversation.
@@lastquarter3992a lot of kinks aren’t necessarily “healthy” for your mental wellbeing but they’re expressing it through the fantasy of a work of fiction so ultimately there is less harm
I kind of agree kind of don't. Like people cheat only because they learn that it is ok and that they genuinely feel that they aren't doing anything wrong by doing it. Usually they learn this is childhood when either their mom/dad have an affair or if they are in a single parent household and continuously see a change in partners. They grow to believe that there is no love in stability and thus they become bored when they are in a stable relationship and feel there is no thrill or adventure. Now I'm not saying all people who have had these parents end up this way, but sometimes the opposite can happen. Sometimes the person who had cheating parents can get married or be in a relationship with a cheater. In psychology it's very common to see that whatever behavior parents uphold in front of their kids, that becomes the standard in that kids future relationships. This is why therapy is so important. Because what u do to ur kid in childhood , it can make that kids personality. And this is why I feel people start having these kinds of fetish. I'm not saying all trauma or all fetish stems from childhood, but the ones that stick around have been conditioned when we were kids. This is not just for cheating fetish, its all kinds of fetish that are not mentally healthy. Fetishes like Consensual Non-Consent should be considered as a form of trauma response because it's so mentally unhealthy to fantasize about rape
@@lastquarter3992 To be fair, a lot of material with this kink also includes the committed partner getting off on the cheating too (which iirc happened in s1 of the show). It's also common for viewers to express disappointment when the partner is made aware and seen emotionally affected by the situation. I'm not sure what that means psychologically, but it's kind of interesting.
what irritates me the most is the fact that all the romance portrayed in this show/book series revolves around sex. To them sex is Love. Billie only recalled sex with Brad...claiming it was love, then Sash...all the flashbacks with that doctor or whatever were banging n shit they did back then... nothing to scream love/romance. Yet they slept with countless men lol.. okay, maybe sexual compatibility is love and a guarantee to successful marriage huh? Me don't know.
Precisely. Unless both are asexual, a couple's sexual compatibility is an important part because of how it's connected to a couple's chemistry and emotional needs, but it's just one of the factors in compatibility. Personality, lifestyle, etc, are also just as important as sexual compatibility. Like, just from an astrological example: Opposing zodiac signs, as the zodiacs are placed in a wheel. Like the 12 and 6 oppose each other on a clock, so goes for zodiacs. Opposing signs usually have great sexual compatibility, but there are some who are basically two sides of the same coin and make for a great couple long-term like cancer and capricorn and some who are too different from each other in their personalities & values and usually only make for good one night stands like a fling between an aquarius and a leo.
It is honestly frustrating. And it's a bit of a different subject, but as someone under the aroace spectrum it is so damn annoying. I am tired of sex and love been portrayed as the same thing when they couldn't be more different. Sure I guess for some it's natural to expect a marriage to come alongside a certain quantity and even quality of a sex life but the way this show makes things is just so... Ugh
No, sex is not an indicator of love. Just look at hook up culture, prostitution, and people having one night stands, and you'll know what I mean. None of those situations have anything to do with love. Sex is not a forn of intimacy either. It can, however, be an act born of intimacy. Your emotions and mindset can influence the sex you're having. As an example for this show. Billie has separated Cooper from that side of herself to such an extent that she can't really enjoy sex with him. When the trouble between them, she jumps to cheating is the only answer. I mean, she literally considered no other options. On a personal note, my wife and i have no expectations of what sex means. Therefore, we can simply enjoy it without unnecessary pressure added to it.
I’m ace, so I really don’t understand it that much. But I do think sex is important for most couples, but you’re totally right, it never should be as important as emotional compatibility. And to equal sex = love is just dangerous for real life relationships, because it can grow into objectification and sexualization real quick, which shouldn’t have a place in relationships. Loving sex with someone doesn’t mean you love them, it’s just a dangerous implication tbh
It's precisely how most romance stories nowadays confuse lust and love. They are different things and, while there can be some bridges between both, it's definitely not an equal sign.
This show is basically soft-core p*** with a loose plot. She wasn’t happy & being her true self in her marriage so she cheats on her hubby with her ex-boyfriend. The hubby finds out by reading her journal, then he tries to imitate the wild sex she had with her ex. Neither one of them are being who they really are. Season 2: she’s divorcing her hubby & tries to be with her ex but he moved on after she didn’t accept his proposal in season 1. She gets another bf who she can be wild with but can’t be a mom. They don’t work out. Her ex-bf doesn’t work out with his new woman. Main lady & her original ex end up together. Ex hubby and his ex get back together. They all live happily ever after. The end.
I want season 3 to be more realistic. Billie and Brad struggles to be a parent for their own kids. Considering the history of brad, he screws up and cheats on Billie again. This time Billie actually gets some therapy and learns that it was not cooper, not brad but it was her who was a broken shell of a woman the whole time.
@@erenssister.5535 season 3 will probably out them all as bi and create that trainwreck... as if being a cheating whore is any better when they all go both ways.
If I had a nickel for every time a couple had sex on a ferris wheel in a Netflix series I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
@@kat_kami I was about to ask you as well....and ooooooooh I forgot about that one...damn. Ik having sex in public spaces is a common kink but for the love of god please don't do it in places where kids are hanging around.
It's funny that this show is being marketed to women given that certain members of the Red-Pilled, Man culture community are using it as a teaching tool to reveal "the true nature of women" to their audience. That's a thing that's actually happening: they're using clips of this show to demonstrate why women with a past will screw you over.
I pay attention to the reaction more than the content. If women in high numbers were championing this as the dream life...than yeah red pill has a reason have a problem. But it looks like women are calling this out for the piece of s### show it is
@Anon also, how does this have anything to do with men cheating? Calling out bad behavior for one group is in no way an endorsement of doing it for the other
@@hunterhall1575 Uh, considering that they're talking about "the true nature of women" they absolutely are wrong??? Using a piece of media to define half the population by is inherently wrong, especially when they're using it to villainize. Of course women can also cheat, but that community is obviously taking things to the extreme.
I HATE how they gave Sasha her own tragic love-backstory, it felt like they took away her power. Making her independence trauma-related bc she once got burnt by love instead of her just CHOOSING IT SIMPLY BC SHE F**KING WANTS TO.
I really wish this show was about a married couple who despite their happiness they've found themselves stuck in the same boring sexual routine and so they decide to experiment more to spice things up and re-discover themselves in the process You cannot tell me that doesn't sound way better than whatever this is
For some reason, open marriages/swinging/kink/other sexual subcultures that people willingly consent to and treat seriously + set boundaries with are less interesting than people just lying and being unfaithful
Yeah when Coop was like “there’s something I need to do first” I thought he was gonna go throw majid into the kitchen fire. Not go hit up his old girlfriend.
OMG yes the acting was seriously terrible!! Sarah is a Mom IRL so you’d think she’d really imagine being in that situation with her own kids but it’s like she was too happy when she saw Brad 🤦🏻♀️
The one about the couple watching the apartment in front of them? I remember watching them with my friend and we are both in law school so we were like “god this would be illegal in so many levels”
Honestly I have never hated a main character more. I’m a parent and I can’t imagine treating my supportive husband like that. They could have made it a really good story about finding yourself after having kids. Instead it’s just her wanting to blow up her life and bang her ex.
@Anon there are ways to focus on your own needs and find yourself again after kids that don’t involve emotionally abusing your husband who has done nothing but support you. That’s why I was disappointed, most mums could have related to a story about finding yourself after kids, this just isn’t it
@@miskatonic6210 exactly. It’s just a wasted opportunity. If she really wasn’t happy she could have just left him and focused on herself. Her whole finding herself journey was about banging her ex. Nothing about finding who she is after having kids, how she can still prioritise her own needs etc while juggling both. She just puts her needs above everyone in her family.
I feel like they should have made the sex different from what she remembers, when they finally get tgt. Like ur ruined ur life for him but his sex is trash now lol
This show gave me high blood pressure watching it. It's like a train crash where you want to look away but can't, and everything just keeps getting worse and worse. I literally thought in the second to last episode in season 2 that Cooper died in the car crash, because how could he survive it? This entire show is made out of nightmare fule. It was nice to see that almost everything worked out in the last episode though
I feel like you can't say this show tackles important relationship issues when literally no one makes any realistic or good decisions that a real human would make when said issues pop up
As someone who went through a very bad parental separation at a young age, I just want to say thank you for this review. I've never been the "think of the children" type of person, but seriously, the writers really dropped the ball on the "family" aspect of this show. Yes... I know the show is called "Sex Life", but that's no excuse to use Billie's son as a plot device for some lame-ass deluded story. The children are basically door mats to these characters... and if anyone is wondering what will happen to Billie's kids in the future... I know from personal experience that there are emotional scars that can never be healed. Questions that I as a kid were too afraid to ask... and much too angry when I was finally given an answer. I feel validated knowing that I was not the only one, who saw just how terrible of a character Billie was. The only way a Season 3 could have the potential of having a believable plot... is for Billie to have her son be her reckoning. Hell perhaps even Brad's "forgotten" son with Gigi (Ironic...given his father's own story in Season 1). They would be the "consequence" of their actions and would only have themselves to blame if he or she starts acting out... after all... in the case of Hudson... his mum is a famous sex writer, who divorced her once-honest turned sleazy husband for a rich random restaurant owner, only to go back to her cheating bad ex-boyfriend because they have amazing wild romps. Perfect Family. 100% suitable for a teenage boy
I'm not surprised Coho, the queen of toxic relationships, loves this book. I appreciate your sacrifice of watching these shows so I don't have to, I enjoy your recaps.
OMG the way the ending made no damn sense!!!! 😂🤬 the true female empowerment would come from the main character realizing what’s in front of her and that the past relationship is in the past for a reason.
From a storytelling standpoint, this show made no sense. I don't know about female empowerment, I would assume this isn't it, but it usually comes from seeing someone falling and climbing their way back up. For a show like this, I would say it would have been. Billie screws up her marriage and then goes through hell to realize what she actually had and win back the guy who actually treated her right. No, i don't claim to be an expert writer, so I have no idea if that would be empowering or not. But even I know inspiration comes from seeing something that can come true, not from fictional situations that can't.
THE WORST PART for me... as a man... was on the very last episode. Brad leaves his own son and Gigi for Billie.... WHAAAAAAAAT!? You mean to tell me that that sob story about getting to know his own father didn't mean anything and was utterly useless? Seeing as he DID THE EXACT SAME FUCKING thing to his son. What the hell is wrong writers?? It's as if kids do not exist in their worlds or at least are just there to be plot devices. Let me tell you as a young boy growing with divorced parents... DIVORCE is terrible. It's ALWAYS traumatic, and it's NEVER empowering for kids. Billie's son Hudson is going to have it rough, getting used to continous new step-fathers. Gigi's son with Brad... he's going to get it even worse.
@goodninja3 I don't make a habit of defending the character of Brad or this poorly written story, but he told Billie the Gigi left him some time after he lost his company. You can also see his son at their wedding, so he didn't just dip out on the boy. In fact, they indicate that she left because he lost his company. The truth is the whole situation was pure plot convince. They needed Brad to be free for Billie to be happy. This whole series was full of telling and not showing. We never see Brad struggle with letting go of Billie in a meaningful way. He never reached out to her, and even at the park, he's more just being cordial than acting like he's pinyin away for her. As an aside, there's no evidence he ever went to see his dad.
I feel disgusted with perspective of people potentially having sex in public spaces, like the ferris wheel. I wouldn't want to use the place they did it in
This series need a sequel. With different writers and set the plot round 15 years later about the kids being smart enough to see how awful these adults are and doing their best to cut every ties with their horrible parents and anyone who had anything to do with them. The happy end should be how miserable their life turned out to be as consequence for their past actions also facing the fact that their kids are happy and much better people then they are because they finally got rid of them.
I saw the trailer and immediately said no. I’m not going to enable people making s**tty decisions. Also, Cooper’s female coworker and him have good chemistry. They should get together.
i'm just a bachelors in psych but I was so surprised at why a psychology doctoral candidate is getting into a relationship with the intention of fixing a clearly emotionally immature person with unresolved family issues. They showed Brad to be self-aware with all the "i've been to enough shrinks" and "don't you think i already know what to do about my dad issue"... but then he did nothing productive from that self-awareness and insight. Any mentally healthy psych student knows that you can't push people to fix their issues and that as a psychologist or whatever she was aiming to be with the PhD.. She just knew better than to be involved with someone like that.. just because of the sex or the fact that she felt special that she's the only one who knew him so deeply. That's the stuff a 15 year old girl melts over, not a grown woman in a PhD program.
90% of the characters Amanda mentions in the sum up videos for this show I would never watch waft out of my brain like vapor before the video’s even over. By the end I was like “Who the hell is Emily?” 🤣
This is one of my favourite lines from season 2😂 Sasha: I'm gonna write another book called "Sustained by love". Mick: More like Sh*tstained by love. The way I started laughing- 😂😂🤣🤣💀💀
She’s not a good person, she left her husband to hook up with the Australian guy in the show. I don’t care how good she was in Person of Interest, leaving your husband and kids for your co-star is fucked
Because Sarah and Adam are together in real life, that's why. They left their real-life relationship influence the characters. In the show reason, Billie is just a liar and is very selfish, and it's always been about brad. A possible explanation is that Billie is having an affair, mostly emotional, and is trapped in the proverbial affair fog, isn't even thinking clearly and trying to convince herself that's not what was happening.
Shows like this really love glossing over the reality that STDs exist. Sleeping with anyone and everyone is just a nasty thing to do. I'm suprised some of the characters aren't walking around with bumps on their lips.
This show really went out of its way to make Copper into an insane, toxic fool because it didn't want to admit Billie secretly still being attracted to her ex, unsatisfied with her life with Copper, and lowkey manipulating Copper into acting like her ex was a fucked up thing and having a partner who did all that would mess with anyone's head and cause insecurities.
Netflix recommended this recently to me bc season two just launched and I watched Season 1 in one sitting one night. What I found was 1. Billie describing how adventurous her life used to be and then just seeing it consist of boring flings (sex SO spiceless, damn) in boring clubs 2. The aching absence of spice and chemistry in the sex scenes with "Brad" and how bad his acting/delivery in every scene he was in was 3. Billie always engaging with "Brad's" problems and past conflicts instead of adressing his inappropriate, inexcusably cruel behavior shown towards her in the present... a shitty past is no excuse to treat people like shit and I didn't see her call him out for it ONCE.
The second I heard "something so small can have such a big impact" (when talking about ray cons) my first thought was "oh the comment section is gonna love this"
I've been watching your videos for a long time. I love them. You actually made me realize I'm gay, so thanks for that, too, lol. Anyway, I normally skip the sponsor portion of videos, but I don't with yours. I'm just so proud of how far you have come. I remember when you had your very first sponsor, a VPN maybe idk. Either way, it's just awesome to see you succeed.
Whew, I am thinking that I need one of those huge diagrams (ones that multinational companies use to explain their holdings to investors) to show the relationships and progeny in this show.
Thank you for your service. I never finished S1and I sure as hell won't be subjecting myself to S2. As soon as I realized that they were going to villainize Cooper to justify the shit Billie was about to do (which was glaringly obvious from Ep1), I threw in the towel. God forbid we get a real story about internalized conflict, the mental/emotional constraints of societal gender roles, lack of communication in a relationship, etc. No, let's just make it all about sex. Because sex is such tried and true cure for all that ails you. It's actually really sad to see how far down they dragged Cooper, and then just tidied everything up at the last second. But I guess they knew the nail was in the coffin, probably by the end of S1, so they decided to write as big of a dumpster fire as possible.
I'm sorry but this show is so bad that if I was with someone and I found out they watched it and Thoroughly enjoyed it. I would immediately stop seeing them. this is a huge red flag. This show is framed like an emotionally manipulative manifesto.
Water. Earth. Fire. Air. My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days, a time of peace when the Amanda the Jedi kept balance between the Sitcoms, Pornhub, Fifty Shades, and the home videos. But that all changed when the Sex Life Season 2 attacked. Only the Amanda the Jedi mastered all four movie genres. Only she could stop the ruthless film students.
your sooooo right emtional cheating is very bad, ppl be careful there is thing called emotional cheating please, its can bad if the person does not forget the person emotionally, but ppl go separated life so emotional cheating can be forgotten if the person forgets the other person
I don't disagree with you about emotional cheating. It really is bad, and more than that, it can form without a person noticing it. However, what we see in season 1 wasn't just emotional cheating. It was a full-on affair. An emotional affair is just that, an affair that takes place on an emotional level. In fact, an emotional affair may never even turn sexual. But once it does, it stops being an emotional affair. It turned sexual the night she took his call while he was having sex with Sasha and used it to please herself, by failing to hang up on him when he starts taking his pants off during the second video call. When she actively arranged a situation to lie to her husband to hide her activities, when the very next day she arranged to meet Brad and go on what was effectively a date. Last but not least. When she went to his place (pre retcon) for the purpose of having sex with him I'll be honest I don't like double standards. So I find it funny that so many people down grade het actions to just having an emotional affair, when we all know if it was Cooper doing half of what she did we wouldn't draw that same conclusion. .it's not that she didn't physically cheat on Cooper it's that she got stopped from having sex with brad twice. He intentions were clear.
i am sorry if cooper was doing what she was doing he would get a lot of hate. i have noticed women seem to get away more with cheatin then men everywhere. it should be both they both should be treated the same way. ppl cheat for all sort reason as longest everyone is honest and don't mislead. either way billie and brad were horrible characters the whole storyline was not great tbh. it is shocking how many people are in bille situation i don't blame them, i just blame how the outcome or the process of the story was - it can tell people happy ending we know that doesn't happen in real life - ppl should be realistic about it, comprise
This season felt like the storyline didn't know what to do with Brad. But they had show him because he was the main character so he just kept popping out of nowhere. Also Emily was def stalking Cooper 💯💯!
all i know about this show is that they put up a giant, mostly black advertisement poster on the walls of an apartment complex in my city, blocking the residents window from sunlight. it was around may or june 2020 when the first covid lockdown came to an end and ppl started to have a little hope again
Billie cheated on Cooper long before he even tried the move on his boss to be fair. For me all the lying, hiding and letting yourself be worked up about your ex... Is cheating in itself. I would say it's even worse than being physically cheated on, since for months, Billie's mind was occupied with this trash of a human being.
Yeah that's why I clarified he physically did stuff first - she's ABSOLUTELY in the wrong, it just seemed like they had him do something physical first to seem worse
@@AmandaTheJedi you know what’s worst? The series perpetuates the idea for red pill men, that women cheating is even worse, because „we“ justify it by „oh, it’s the man’s fault, because he didn’t give me what I wanted“. It somehow absolutes women from being lying piece of shits, while in reality no matter which gender cheats, it’s just shitty and unjustifiable. You know what I mean? Bzw. I'm anticipating your Scream 6 review. I totally agreed with every word you said about all the movies in your retrospective. I just got back from seeing Scream 6 an hour ago, and even though I had the same issues with Scream 5 that you did, I really enjoyed this one (though it still had issues-namely immortal characters). Hopefully you enjoy it too.
I'd love to see a Scream movie where the movie shows you the killer's POV from the beginning. We get to see how the killer(s) go about carrying out their attacks and we're waiting for the movie's protagonist to catch up to who it is. That'd be something different.
Realistically, Cooper would have left with the kids, eventually met his match and moved on. This is based on his character. Billie and Brad's marriage probably would have fizzled out because eventually, the routine of raising kids would have landed Billie in the exact spot she was in with Cooper. Brad marrying her and settling down will quickly erase fantasy Brad and bring everyday Brad, and Billie doesn't do mundane. At least Cooper was well adjusted to begin with, enter Brad with his multitude of issues.
They had such a good idea with the theme of marriage that had its glowing days but boy did they fucked it up. Like you could have done anything . You have the theme with open marriage, old love in mid twenty’s vs now and they fucked up. I mean it’s not as bad as it’s with Emily in Paris but that’s all there is to say
I suppose that's possible. The ending of S1 it was clear she was there yo have an affair, not because he's the one she'd ultimately chosen. Though I think their real life relationship may have played a factor in the change.
Wait, wait. Hold on. You are telling me that you never had a hook up while waiting for your number 10 with combination rice? What else are you supposed to do? Just wait for my order? Come one. LOL
Season 2 was a complete train wreck for me. While season 1 dealt with pretty interesting topics, the second season felt more like an insanely fast wrap up of the story that completely left aside the original themes. Aside from the cringy writing and non sense plot, the over usage of music and constant jumps in time made it feel like a telenovela. Big flop
Season two was a shit show. The writers completely abandon the plot from season one in order to polish Billy’s reputation. But the best way they thought to do that was to tarnish Coopers None of season two made any sense to me. Season one showed Billie as a sex starved groupie, who found peace and harmony by marrying Cooper. She then went on to deliberately destroy Cooper because she just couldn’t bear the thought of another night without Brad. really? I’m just glad it ended. It was just not that good.
Ugh, it's so nice to have someone I love watching and listening to, talk about a show I'll never watch but want the dirty details about. My film/tv junkie brain adores A the J so so much.

the most unrealistic part of this show was that Billie was able to afford a huge apt in Manhattan as a mom going to school for her Masters with no job
Yeah that didn’t make sense is she rich or sth 😂
She was doing PhD not masters. She quits PhD when she marries Cooper.
It's simple, Cooper was paying for everything. This is a weird tiny thing that has absolutely no relevance on anything, but they gave her a doctoral cap for her master’s graduation
I think she already had her masters and was on her way to getting her doctorate before she got married
I thought they said masters then switch to doctors but I might be imaging things.
She was getting a PhD
She mentioned quite a few times that she was working on her dissertation, not a thesis
No, it was correct. It was mentioned multiple times that she worked on her doctorate.
The "this is real" scene where he quits his job and just kisses her infront of the higher-ups almost made me throw up lmao what the hell is that

In real life somebody expecting this from a partner should go to therapy for this kind of toxic expectations.
That was such Wattpad writing that I just had to convulse into a flip
Yeah just for him to fuck it up and sleep with a bunch of other women and completely lose her 🙄
The most realistic part of it was her not getting a job after that stunt 😐
I actually burst out laughing. I was like they are seriously going with this 🤣
I’m so fucking sick of this “female sexual enlightenment at the cost of the mental health and stability of everyone around them” trope. It’s not empowering, and if you’ve ever known women that act like this makes it 100 times worse
This comment deserve love
I think all Netflix shows should have Brad showing up suddenly. Just for no reason. Like Emily in Paris, she’s having sex on the Ferris wheel and then from under the seat, guess who, it’s Brad
I support this :)
Не нравится пропаганда се*суальный из США.
I feel like this could be a family guy skit
Manifesting that Brad emerges from the fold in Shadow and Bone 🤞
Brad kills Joe Goldberg.
Stop me if you've heard this exact plotline before:
Writer introduces the MC and her partner who is, for all intents and purposes, a super chill loving dude whose only "crime" is being vanilla.
@@joyc.e.7511 what’s with the writers always somehow justifying cheating, especially when woman’s doing it? As a woman, I feel insulted…
For a TV show questioning monogamy they all end up in monogamic relationships with their ex lovers.
Last season sounded insane. This season sounds batshit insane.
Amanda, I salute you for watching the trash, so I don't have to. Your sanity suffers to save mine, and I cannot thank you enough.
Here's a thought: i think cheating is a fetish for a lot of people, and writing these scenarios IS an expression of that kink. I think that has been the case for a LONG time, but as a society, we don't really want to have that conversation.
I'm starting to think about that too. Could this be a way for them to express that link without actually doing it? Is this some form of cuckeldry?
It's still pretty messed up since it's a kink that harms your partners' emotional well-being.
The end.
Pathetic.

But it looks like women are calling this out for the piece of s### show it is
And they aren't wrong.
@Anon Obviously this is a "not all women" situation. But these things still happen all the time. Especially the emotional cheating
I really wish this show was about a married couple who despite their happiness they've found themselves stuck in the same boring sexual routine and so they decide to experiment more to spice things up and re-discover themselves in the process
You cannot tell me that doesn't sound way better than whatever this is
For some reason, open marriages/swinging/kink/other sexual subcultures that people willingly consent to and treat seriously + set boundaries with are less interesting than people just lying and being unfaithful

Honestly I have never hated a main character more. I’m a parent and I can’t imagine treating my supportive husband like that. They could have made it a really good story about finding yourself after having kids. Instead it’s just her wanting to blow up her life and bang her ex.
And she gives a shit about her kids. She sees herself as a responsible mother, but all she really focuses on are her own needs.
For real, as much as the. Umber kf shit people they are yikes

I don't know anything about this Coleen, was wondering if she's a writer for a show, or a book? Basically looking for land mines to sidestep
@@goodninja3 Actually it was gigi who leaves brad because he went broke. But I do see your point
I feel disgusted with perspective of people potentially having sex in public spaces, like the ferris wheel. I wouldn't want to use the place they did it in
You covering everything with twilight is the best thing I’ve seen all day 😂😭
This series need a sequel.

Wow, this show just demonstrates that maybe you should be communicating with your spouse or whatever if you feel something is lacking.
I forgot Sarah Sahi was doing this. Will always adore her for Carmen and Shaw, but this is just so, so much
She’s not a good person, she left her husband to hook up with the Australian guy in the show. I don’t care how good she was in Person of Interest, leaving your husband and kids for your co-star is fucked
I just love that Billy says "It's not about Bred it's about me and what i want"
And then ends up with Bred at the end for some reason

But I guess they knew the nail was in the coffin, probably by the end of S1, so they decided to write as big of a dumpster fire as possible.

your sooooo right emtional cheating is very bad, ppl be careful there is thing called emotional cheating please, its can bad if the person does not forget the person emotionally, but ppl go separated life so emotional cheating can be forgotten if the person forgets the other person
When she went to his place (pre retcon) for the purpose of having sex with him
I'll be honest I don't like double standards.

@@styfen I saw that movie over a decade ago. I always wanted to do a sequel to it but I feel it would be too late now.
Wow, I got in SUPER early today. This literally never happens. Question: have you watched/reviewed Orphan, or the newer Orphan: First Kill?
11:44 This line angers me SO MUCH that I don’t even want to explain why I’m angered by it
I hated the ending ! I did not want Billy to get her happy ending.
OMG, what about the children....? 🤦♀️
I mean it’s not as bad as it’s with Emily in Paris but that’s all there is to say
the actress was apparently going through a divorce when they started filming and is currently dating brad's actor lol
I think season 2 initially had a different beginning. BUT due to the backlash received from season 1 ending, they changed the scene.
Come one. LOL
“Hide the Peperoni” is soooo killing me 😂😂🤣🤣
There's so many characters and relationships I'm more confused than when I was watching love actually ;D
"so...goodie!.? " with the not so much, much smile? me: dead. the FORCE is strong.
I remember seeing clips of this and was sure it was clips from a pilot because of the writing.
Big flop
OMG The Imagine Me and You shout-out I NEEDED but never thought would happen! My (and my fiance's) lesbian heart is so happy :)
Never expected Greg Sestero's performance in The Room to be better than in here.
Oh why? Sarah Shahi ... that's Shaw from Person of Interest. She was so great on that amazing show. And then she's in this piece of s*it?? ☹️
Oh I hated the final scene of season 1 so sooooo much!
Awesome review.
Love this channel! Great content!!
This show should be banned, showing how behaviour should not be celebrated . Disgusting culture
Thank you for your service 🫡
She watches it so we never have to.
Thank you for this, after the first season I just needed a rough summary
You mentioning Shadow and Bone Season 2 is what sjuck up on me. It's out?!
Not yet
Thank you for saving us from being torture.
so women cheating is OK and women empowerment ??
She'll be cheating on Brad in no time lol.
I'm willing to bet 50 euros which one of them will cheat first.
I love how you censor with twilight lol
5:25 "Nudity wherever they can pop it in."
I see what you did there :)
Ugh, it's so nice to have someone I love watching and listening to, talk about a show I'll never watch but want the dirty details about. My film/tv junkie brain adores A the J so so much.
