Dexter is a very smart dude. He flies his own jet and I think he has a PHd. He’s very down to earth. I saw him taxi his jet at Long Beach when I was training for my pilots license. It has an Anarchy symbol on the tail. I wrote him a letter asking if he instructed for commercial licenses. He replied to me with a hand written letter on Nitro Record letterhead and envelope. He’s a pretty cool dude.

was just gunna say, ive never heard em sing so good live lol! had a feeling! auto tunes not bad when its done right but dont see it much in live performance! usualy just studio albums, most people probably dont even know, cause they think auto tune automatically means t-pAIN! LOL
Pretty amazing to see a man with a PhD in Molecular Biology (Dexter Holland) still rocking it after all these years. He's still got the sound! I'm glad to see a group that hasn't succumbed to drugs etc and instead the power of the mighty Whopper™ 😁. Rock on!

Dexters voice is hit or miss, he's good singer but he's beaten his voice to death with relentless touring and singing on the very edge of his range constantly. It's not like he's tone deaf, you hear his performances on smash and ignition when there was no chance of editing and his voice was one of the coolest out with heaps of character, huge range and good melodic sensibilities. This is a bit autotuned but that's guitar centres call, not the bands. The fact that it's not SUPER obvious shows that dexter is always at least a few cents flat most of the time, it's not like he can't hit the notes.
When you're a musician, there's kinda a part of you that never grows up, but that's art in general. The closet link we have to immortality, or staying young forever...
Now I know what my father felt like 30 years ago when he would listen to the stones and I'd ask him to change it because they were old. He'd tell me that I didn't know what good music was. Now I'm listening to the Offspring telling the rugrats that they don't know what good music is.
