Diego salinas molina thank you ;)
Benton Hunter+How old were you when 311 released "Down?" I was in 6th grade. I was goin out with s girl who was gorgeous and I couldn't even believe she gave me the time of day. But we loved this album do I' bring it over, play it in her dad's garage CD player, so this was the album I really experienced a lot of my "firsts" to. Thanks Nick ; )
Kustom Hooligans I was 11, just started 6th Grade...I'll be 33 years old this year...haha it's been 22 years!
They sound as good as they did 20 years ago.
I daresay better
@@jordankilburn3758 No argument here.
I was just about to post on here asking if I am listening to a recording of the original album? These guys sound incredible.
@@raylafleur6616 My sentiments exactly.
Sounds like the record. Fab performance!
The last 40 seconds of this song has to be one of my all time favorite breakdowns/segments!
Proof that Nebraska grows more than corn.
True that dude
I keep forgetting they’re not from southern California.
Omaha stylee
Hahahaha… no shit! In this case, these boys rock, over many records!
And thic farm girls!! Love me some thic farm girls cooking!!
It could be 70 years from now, and I still be headbanging in my wheelchair

Gene editing eternal life lol

So damn groovy , I’m a 16 kinda sucks i grew up when i did. But hey at least i can listen to this awesome AWEOSME music.
Still one of the chillest bands ever. Oh and 311 was an inside job
Acid bath!!!
Investigate 311!
Time to waterboard Nick.
Investigate 311
So hard for a band to sound this good so late in there career good for them
dude, they've prolly played this song 10,000 times live! lol, they could play it in their sleep, never gets old!
Man I agree. They sound fantastic!!
Not to mention playing this song while being waterboarded on Eric Andre 😂
Michael Reyes Their* career. Not there.
Aic is can still rock hard
My wife and went to see 311 in concert on our first date 27 years ago.
Even if you’re not into their sound this is very well executed live performance.
311 is still in their prime that's what makes me so happy
Absolutely love this song!!! The energy is ridiculous. They sound so tight here.
This sounds musically TIGHT. These guys don't mess around. Still an awesome, high-energy song. Can't wait to see them live this summer!!
That kick at 2:18 from the bass player was godlike and badass did anyone else notice other than me😂😂😂
pnuts* up kicks are one of the best part of their live shows :0
I was gonna say he does that all the time
and he did kick chad's crash cymbals
haha P-Nut is a veritable orangoutang onstage, he does that shit all the time, gotta love his energy!
Pssssh welcome to the world of P-Nut. My man beats that thang with the best of em.
311 sounds so good live
Shabadabadabada Down Doooown

COOLEST DAD BAND IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!
FIGHT ME!
Slayer wants to know your location 😏😉🤣
@@ladycheyne5607 Slayer cant play for fuck sake. If you wanna bring the "I am a turd metalhead" at least mention real musicians like Dream Theater, Megadeth or Maiden. 311 owns Slayer any day.
@@astorgaluthier DT are players, but fuck off with James Labrie and his vocals. Can’t listen to DT for that reason alone.
Dad bands are like Motley Crew & Fleetwood Mac...
Gtfoh POSER!!!
@@bettyvermont9352 wrong opinion bitch GTFO
20 years and these guys still kick ass. Glad to have gotten to see them twice in concert.
311 is a rare band that sounds better live then on record
Agreed having seen them twice
Very underrated band ! A fusion of reggae, indie, rock , and on certain tracks , southern rock overtones ! Only " 311 " has been able to mix such genres , and make them sound solid & groovy ! Well done guy's !👍😎✌
Was born in 1989 and my brother bought the blue album and I remember listening to this in his car when I was 6, he had a nice ass soundsystem, and I thought this was the dopest shit ever. Been obsessed with 311 ever since. This and misdirected hostility were my favorite songs as a 6 year old. My mom caught me singing along, "You're saying that you're tortured, give me a fuckin break, and maybe take out the source of your despairing. What do I mean? kick the fuckin heroin." She didn't approve, haha. Not sure what normal 6 year old listens to. But it was 311, rage against the machine, and tool when I was a kid. Good times.
Misdirected Hostility is one of my favorites! You had a lot of great music in your young life, when I was 6 I had a Def Leppard cassette. And a Steve Winwood cassette! Uh... yeah.
I will say this, my oldest brother turned me on to Led Zeppelin, Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, and went to the first couple Lollapalooza shows bringing back shit like Rage Against the Machine, so I have very little to complain about. I didn't quite give 311 enough of a chance until years later, but it's all good, I love their entire discography.
It's not about what you listen to or when you listen to it, it's about the music you love and how it affects you. At least that's my opinion.
Same dude!! I was 7 and my mom actually bought me the blue album because I was so obsessed with the down video on mtv haha. Many many memories listening to that album. Pretty much feels like I discovered who I was in that album a lot earlier than most! Cheers! 🤘🏻
So your mom was upset about an anti heroin message?😂
This song will never get old for me. I still rock out to it, and they play it at every show. And how can you not jump when Nick does his AirHexums??
1:52 his voice sounds so good
that Pnut leg swing 🤘🤘🤘
Seriously one of the coolest tunes ever.
Never a big 311 fan, but this was sweet. It sounds exactly like they did 20 years ago, and many bands can't quite pull that off. Very impressed.
Hands down the best live version of I've heard of " Down. " Badass band. And, I'm a guitar shredder from the 80s. The 90s had some kick ass music!
90s alternative will always be tough to beat.
Always loved this song, till this day no idea what the lyrics are, but still, just awesome.
Hilarious
I love 311. They are such an awesome band live! For the record 311 never broke up or retired....still rockin for 20+ years!
I was a huge fan of their first album when it came out. I remember sitting in my barracks room a few years later and this video came on MTV and we were all blown away.
Literally haven't heard this song in 20 years or more . Goddamn if they don't sound even better in 2014. That's intensely good!! Thanks for the post
Badass mix and forever youthful energy. Best band in the land folks
20 MORE YEARS OF 311! AND 20 AFTER THAT. These guys were some of many great memories that were the soundtrack of good memories.
Better than the album version! So awesome
Purple Pulp Inc. shockingly great 20 yeas later
All these rock bands that have been around all these years still goes harder than any band out there today.
LOL. No.
This is the song that started it all for me back in 1995/1996. Happy to see that 311 is still going strong. THE BEST BAND, in my opinion.#311
Been one of my fav bands since I was 10 years old. I turn 35 on 311. This is one band that has sounded perfect show after show, amazing.
they still sound just like the album. sort of revisiting these guys and the work they have been putting into their music is incredible.
Man this song and 311 brings me back to when I gdaduated HS in '98, living in SoCal, not a care in the world, times were pretty awesome back then I must say. 311 is still just as rockin' now as they were back in the 90s.
Chad is the most focused drummer ever.
was thinking the same thingggg
Adam Schulz since they knew it was being recorded he probably just wanted it to sound good
his drums have always been one of my favorites.
yeah he doesnt seem distracted by anything
Brandon Anderson simple song , just provide the beat, keep in steady tight pocket of rhythm guitarist, and produce minimal if any fills . Bored , the drummer hates this song .
Elementary school time was everything with this song! I'm now in my 30's and still counting...
Happy 311 Day all.
I woke up this morning to this blasting on my TV. It was on DirecTV, but not this performance. I don't see how I've missed this song. This is friggin great!
Just saw them in Reno..8th time seeing them and they sounded better than ever. One of the greatest bands of all time!!
Shit I live in Reno area and missed them again.... Ahhh shit.
If you've never seen 311 live, please do yourself a favor and go! Hands down the best band I've ever seen. The energy was amazing.
Im not a 90s Kid, but my dad really loves 311 and we listen to it a lot so this feels like comfort to me < 3
Who's still listening and jamming in 2019?
Oh, I am!!
Yes! Yes! This shit is DA BOMB
Always
And I will be listening in 2039
Hell yeah....hydroponic 311
One of many great songs that will never get old.. it’ will always age like a fine wine
Great track back in the day and still freakin ACE today.
The sound recording, mixing quality is top shelf too
Happy 311 day! Also, this song kicks!
It's impossible not to move to this song. especially that breakdown. Still smoking!
311 just gets better and better!
I have lost how many I came back to this video...
311 is one of the best, live, bands I've seen, and I've seen alot! They always bring it!🤘🤘🤘
The kings of the three minute banger.
So many of my favourite bands from the 90's and 2000's still rockin strong!!! Sad that the end of an era is near.... enjoy while you still can!
This shit still feels like yesterday!
These guys are still killing it - so happy for them. They sound maybe even better than they did 20 years ago. Big high five.
My determination knows no bounds, heard this on the alt 98.7, checked back on their recently played and found this video right away
Check
The
Technique
Wooooo tight tight tight!
That sounded great! Sounded very close to the record. Awesome
Damn - I love their energy and the way they go about playing. All of ‘em were doing their thing and doing it well 👌
One of the greatest bands ever. Massive respect.
Most underrated melody writers of the past 20-25 years. Hexum/Sexton.
How does one bring themselves to place a thumbs down upon this masterpeice ? Dude what a sick setting to put on a performance. .
Them grannies be hatin
One of the most important bands of the last 20 years.
After all these years, this song still stomps....
Tonight!! The encore #GCSessions featuring 311 airs at 9pm. Watch "Down" and stay tuned as we roll out new episodes starting, November 7th on *****'s Audience channel 239.
I discovered 311 in a videogame called Big Air Freestyle on the GameCube I was hooked since.
Me and the wife went backstage with 311 and Papa Roach early 2000's got to meet both bands Concrete street Corpus Christi, Tx
This performance is kickass, it’s unbelievable how amazing this particular one is... Nick’s voice is incredible, and in general their energy in their performance is just wild, even better than the studio recording in my opinion
Wow they sound amazing live👊
The rapper still sounds like an 8 year old boy after all these years
martinez
always drink lemon water, that's the secret why his voice can be like a young child
Because the soul itself has no age after all :)
ikr sounds just like a recording.
;)
And that is the key of making me go back to the 90's and they never low down the tunes of their songs because of aging.
He looks like somebody’s dad
How will we know it’s 311 in LA if he didn’t say it?! Favorite band of my childhood!! 🤟🏼
these guys rock out harder than anyone half their age. rock music today will never be this good.
Great to see 311 still being investigated
I love that Chad isn't playing a piccolo snare!!! Makes it rock harder
I’m with ya
Song brings it back to my Juco days of baseball in 96'! Another golden hit from the golden era of music!
Best dad band ever.
FUCK YES!!!!!!! 6 MORE DAYS!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!
311 rocked this Guitar Center Session!great post thanks
311 FOREVER FTW !!!!!!!!!!!!!
They will never get lame! Just as killer as they were 20 years ago. I got a chance to hang with SA the night before a show in my town. It was great to hang with someone who I so admired growing up in my teen years and beyond enjoying their music all these years. They have to be one of the tightest bands I've ever heard. They're like machines. If they ever do mess up, I'm not hearing it. They just kill every song they play.
Bass player kicks the cymbal 02:17
Definitely didn't, but still a nice kick
@@jordankilburn3758
Seems legit he kicked it. Watch it on .25 speed
The problem is his body blocks the camera angle from seeing the drummer , you could be right, but it appears he kicked it.
Not really all that unreasonable.
@TheAgentAssassin dawg.... no he didn't haha
Chill light on my sight as my ego becomes
A funky child with some words on my tongue
Be like intake of breath and my mouth gets loose
While I scatter my spit I dream of juice
Have you ever made out in dark hallways
Displayed a kiss that made your day or say
Played a track from your record collection
It's your mix, congratulations
Changed a lot and then some some
Know that we have always been down down
If I ever didn't thank you you
Then just let me do it now
Come back in I bet you light up when we start the show
Follow me now very closely 'cause I told you so
You know we glow because we throw sun rays
We be freaky and we wanna stay
Changed a lot and then some some
Know that we have always been down down
If I ever didn't thank you you
Then just let me do it now
Lightning strikes yo we be in that violent force of light
Guaranteed to turn it out as bad as dolomite
'Cause we're dope kid change like a chameleon
And the channel whenever that wack show real world is on
You know we dazzle like ghetto box boomin' battles
Rattle inside your head feel redeemed like Cola bottles
Fall in love with your teachers on the wax we are self made
Check the technique, 311 in LA
Changed a lot and then some some
Know that we have always been down down
If I ever didn't thank you you
Then just let me do it now
Keep my feet on the ground
Keep my head in the clouds
Electrified by the sound
Comes from the down
And changed a lot and then some some
Know that we have always been down down
And if I ever didn't thank you you
Then just let me do it now
Thanks for posting that. I never could decipher all the words that well... fast rappin' and all.
311, crazytown, spin doctor, sublime.
summer, beach, and cold beer.
thanks all.
Excitable for life. I love all the amazing comments under this video. 311 has been the one consistent in my life for the last 22 years. On my death bed I’ll be going out to “Down”. Know that I have always been.
He has such a unique voice and it sounds amazing here. What a great band
ps: I had no idea he looked like Timothy Olyphant's brother
This tune has such a bounce to it.
Really hard to not jump up and down when it plays.
my generation had one of the best music ever

Classic 90s tune. They used to play it on the radio all the time.
I seen them in concert a couple years ago they sound awesome put on a hell of a show they seriously look like a bunch of dads kicking ass though lol
