There are actually better songs on the album, but Trust was the first one to make mainstream radio. It was also the first one that really turned me on to Megadeth, even though I had heard other songs from them.
@ardengoyda Trust is a great song, no doubt, but The Disintegrators and Almost Honest give it a run for the money. Anarchy's coming to town A fiery invader Burning it down to the ground The Disintegrators
kevin orlando This is one of the only bass players that would ever make me want to pick a bass up! I'm usually in this for the guitar tracking but his bass tone in this song is by far one of the best he's had.

4:03 It's weird seeing a lead guitarist already transitioning into backup vocals while still finishing the last few notes of his solo. Not sure I've ever seen that before. Also, Chris Broderick has surprisingly good vibrato on his vocals at 4:28
4:52 the "WE LEEEEIIIIIIID" my god... that was great, dave mustane by far best metal singer out there, give the man a fish and throw him in the rock 'n' roll hall of fame, this man is a legend
james hetfeild sucks (i love metallica) phil amazing voice but not quite as good in my mind and lemmy.... well lemmy is a god. he's above legend. plus he always said motorhead isnt metal its hard rock
Seeing old comments here, I agree Chris is a fantastic musician, wondering..what’s everyone think when they see Kiko rip these now? Lol. Been a fan since the first record, and I can honestly say (in my own opinion of course) that I enjoy Kiko’s interpretations of past solos the most, AND his written solos/parts are just especially exquisite. The man is an incredible talent, an a joy to watch/listen to. A gentleman as well. Mega Dave got it right w him big time!
if we're dreaming of an all-Dave band: first of all, it should be called MegaDave and we'd have Dave Mustaine and David Draiman as lead vocals, Dave M and Petrucci (who must of course legally change his name to Dave Petrucci) as lead guitarists, Ellefson on bass, and Dave Grohl as the drummer.
I am 52 YO and am just now getting into Megadeth! Dave Mustaine is the F***ING Man. I own 5 Strats, 1 Tele and 1 Les Paul. I might go out and buy one of Dave's signature guitars. I am learning to play Trust on my Strat but would probably be better on a Dean Zero. I really like the Dean Deth We Trust guitar. Never been a big fan of the VEE guitars. They look nearly impossible to play sitting. If you don't play most players practice sitting down since you can easily get lost in the moment sometimes. I once sat to play for just a few minutes. When I realized it I had been at it for EIGHT hours.
Get a dime from hell as well listen to domination by Pantera and hear dime.....he's the shit...beat guitarist ever... unfortunately he was shot on stage but he's a legendary guitarist..I own a dime from hell and a holy grail Dave Mustaine but I prefer the dime although the holy Grail is also really good
Truly a great song played so tight. All of the parts of they play from the drum and bass intro, The lyrics, all of the guitar parts. The absolute real deal.
started guitar at 16 ,Im almost 50, and have never played a double neck guitar , "thumbs up" if you play guitar ,and born before the 80's, and have also not played a double guitar?
cryptic Writting Trust such a great Megadeth song, and was a awesome tour, first concert I was ever at. Just saw them October for the Dystopia Tour, 15 years later and their still amazing!!!
Robert Jamieson i also seen them in oct with armon amarth and suicidal tendicies and metal church in chicago they were awesome although i was disappointed they didnt play angry again and had to quit early because it was going on midnight fuck the curefue they only played 8 songs oh boy was a good concert anyway
Love Trust Cryptic Writings is the first Megadeth CD I bought since then bought pretty much every album they ever made, and saw them for the Cryptic Writings tour in 1998 and last May for the Dystopia tour still sound amazing, kiko really talented guitarist, and Chris Adler is a bad ass drummer😝🎸🤘
Dave beat cancer. Right on Dave!!
Fck yeah
@Cock A Doodle Doo I really doubt that Dave gets any nasty poontang! It's probably finer than frog hair split 4 ways! LONG LIVE MEGADETH!!!
Dave Beats Up, matha fuka!
It's been 4 years now 😮 wow
Megadeth, the most hygienic metal band I've ever seen!
...apart from any metal band coming from Baden Baden
SamuraiSamara 69 that’s actually a very good way to put it
What do you mean?
berni2905 hes calling their playing clean
haha right on they always looks so neat and clean, well ironed clothes.
ellefsons tone is badass
Ellefson is badass
+Raúl Pérez
Agreed 100%
totally!
Top 10 of all time?
I came of age during Countdown to Extinction and the production of that album alone defined how I heard everything I listened to from then on
That's what u call teamwork. Dave lets everybody shine!. To sing and rock a freakin' solo at the same time!? WTF !! Simply awesome.
Such a great bass riff at the beginning :)
Criminally underrated album.
More thrash influenced then youthanasia as well which was more mid tempo metal.
Anarchy's coming to town
A fiery invader
Burning it down to the ground
The Disintegrators
My favorite ❤
Totally agree. Maybe not the tipical Megadeth album, but it is awedome!!
Even after 17 years, they still rock this song. Megadeth forever!
You mean Dave and David still rock this song after 17 years, Chris and Shawn weren't in the band when this was written.
Andy Liv Ms. Lippy's car, is green.
"tears filled my eyes
as we said our last goodbye"
RIP Nick Menza
Konstantinos Lakta the best drummer Megadeth ever had, what a legend
@@Luca-vg1wpGar was the best lol
Chris soloing and singing backing vocals at the same time..Holy fucking shit!
+Vedran Anovski --- none stop getting' it done.
+Kenny Johnson exactly. wtf :O
Listen to the tactical advantage: !st lead guitar, 2nd lead guitar, bass, drum. The band concept is the same with a charge upgrade.
Yea, really impressive for sure! Chris sings good too.
@@DoktorDamage For sure!
David Ellefson's bass intro fucking rocks !!!!!!!!
awesome pick bass tone.

I think Megadeth (Dave) brought to metal so many great riffs and overall compositions which deserved much more recognitions!
One of THE best intros I've ever heard !!! Oh the drums to the base and then... all ...just a masterpiece of forgotten rock music.
It is metal music
Broderick is a surprisingly good backup vocalist
IKR
Broderick was just all round awesome. I prefer him over Kiko any day! Robo Drover on the other hand is the worst drummer in big 4 history. PURE SHIT!
Gilitar he is a decent drummer at best. He was sufficient for the band, butI felt he was too robotic and played with no feel or emotion.
Got to agree. Knew he's a very good guitarist, but his backing vocals are good as well.
Gilitar Lars is the worst drummer in music history
Megadeth is one of the bands who don’t have to really push it...they are natural .. legends !!
I love how Mustaine is just chillin' in the background during the intro, and lets Dave have the floor.
i wish I could play good like this. I try to play the easy stuff.
Perfect in every possible way ! Just gotta love Dave, one of most honest, virtues and true to himself metal gods !!
+Zoran Kamenicki --- correct
Glad Dave hit James!!!!@
Chris plays Marty's solos with such fidelity and, yet, has his own personal touch. This is awesome beyond regular awesomeness
Lost in a dream
Nothing is what it seems
Searching my head
For the words that you said
Tears filled my eyes
As we said our last goodbyes
This sad scene replays
Of you walking away
My body aches from mistakes
Betrayed by lust
We lied to each other so much
That in nothing we trust
Time and again,
She repeats let's be friends
I smile and say yes
Another truth bends,
I must confess
I try to let go, but I know
We'll never end 'til we're dust
We lied to each other again
But I wish I could trust
My body aches from mistakes
Betrayed by lust
We lied to each other so much
That in nothing we trust
God help me please, on my knees
Betrayed by lust
We lied to each other so much
That in nothing we trust
How could this be happening to me
I'm lying when I say "Trust me"
I can't believe this is true
Trust hurts
Why does trust equal suffering
Absolutely nothing we trust
We can't trust this lyric
Hell yea
This song just got x1000 times better now that i understand the lyrics.. thanks man
If you wanna feel romantic but are afraid you don't look Badass enough...well Megadeth have the song for you 🤘🔥🔥🤘
4:03 It's weird seeing a lead guitarist already transitioning into backup vocals while still finishing the last few notes of his solo. Not sure I've ever seen that before. Also, Chris Broderick has surprisingly good vibrato on his vocals at 4:28
well he is a good musician, also highly skilled with classical guitar violin and piano
Ever see this Guitar Center Session w/ Megadeth ? Excellent performance this song is so fng good
Sweet lord... It's almost scary how close Chriss playing is to the original track. Excellent guitar player!
The sound quality is amazing!!
You know shit is about to get real when you see a duel Flying V guitar.
Or as I like to call it, a Flying W.
@@heartsthekitteh6239 Flying W. I like that. That's a good one
Or a Flying *M* ustaine
Love the fact that chris can sing back up vocals while playing a solo.
every time i listen to this it gets better
My God that Bass grove in the start /combined w/ the drums is just timeless !!! I've played it over and over.
Chris's vocals at 4:28 didn't expect that from him hahaha
Lol ikr
And he was playing the solo at the same time
Dave’s guitar for this song is pure badass🤘🤘
Whoever was the drum tech here deserves a medal. they sound great, especially that intro
Really David Ellefson puts all he's got in bass, no wonder why he's so awesome, love him.
Ellefson is a great bass player!! Terrific sound
Nice sound quality, great performance.
Playing that main riff while singing the chorus. Dave has MAD coordination
Dave's guitar tone here is killer.
wow Megadeth is a great live band !! this sounds so good
That bassline and tone sounds just like on the record, perfect!
I am amazed how awesome Chris sings!

christian alvestam beats all of them...
One of their best songs. I still get so cranked up listening to it.
So tight and precise. The main reason why I love Megadeth.
Presicion?
Absolutely underrated, one of there best pieces
Broderick ripping a solo AND singing at the same time? Nasty. So good.
Yea he is and not so bad on the eyes.❤
That bass tone is legendary
as soon as dave starts playin it starts sounding like megadeth
well it is Megadave afterall
I know idnt dat funny....

It's so great to hear a lead player with a pretty vibrato
A lot of things can be said about Dave Mustaine, but he is definitely one hell of a songwriter...
Definitely agree
Absolutely magnificent!
The drums and bass in this song are soooo epic
R.I.P. Nick Menza. You were one of my greatest idols and this song is one of many reasons why.
I like how Dave Mustaine walks up to the mic lookin like "k y'all rock but the real rockstars here" 🤣 gotta love his attitude towards his music
