Very lucky to see these guys at a tiny venue in the UK and they were hands down one of the best bands I’ve ever seen live, great to see them on the legendary KEXP!!!
@@joebowles06 It's hard to choose! How about Beta Male from Album Paranoia though?? They played a bit from Modern English Dec at the show it was better than the album version!!
Only knowing the band from Spotify, I didn't know what to expect live. As a Radiohead fan I did like their tracks already. However, their live performance blew me off my socks 🙌
Thanks for bagging Ulrika Spacek at KEXP. Have enjoyed many of their gigs in the UK over the years and they returned to the fray with Compact Trauma which I loved too - the outro on The Sheer Drop is so powerful. Nice also to hear them talk about music as they are genuine musicians.
YES!!! caught them in SLC just after they did this KEXP. They mentioned how nerve racking it was to play "perfect" in the studio, and how grateful they were for the opportunity. Mind was blown at the live show, as it is now again. Thank you KEXP for all you do for the music arts world wide - it is more important than ever.
Saw them live twice in San Diego! Had a beer with the lead singer. Awesome sound! I remember yelling out "Play some Victorian Acid!" they finished the show with that banger
Totally agree! If you dig the krautrock vibe of Ulrika Spacek, check out Minami Deutsch as well. Their rhythms remind me of some of Deerhunters as well.
a song off suggestive listening showed up on my discover weekly way back in early 2019 and ever since I've been obsessed. was lucky enough to see them in San Diego this year and it was incredible
It was such a dream to see them with Dummy at Madame Lou's in Seattle the day before this was recorded 😍 Had been wanting to witness these songs live for so long - I love reading all of these comments comparing them to Deerhunter as they have definitely filled that void while creating something so fresh... Check out Dummy if you haven't already 🤘 Gonna cherish my Ulrika Spacek t shirt 4ever 💚
If Rhys got a band behind Astrel K, it would be huge. Love Ulrika and what they do is really cool but the writing and the hooks on the Astrel records are incredible.
I saw them a few weeks in Mexico City, I gotta say that I enjoyed more their show than the LSD and the Search for God at that time I didn´t know them. Also they were really awesome with the public signing their records.
Great band! We love your music! We will come to London to visit you, I hope you keep your word on taking us around the real music scene! From Austin with love!
@@rycooder8265 Haven’t released an album since 2019. Bradford has disengaged and said he isn’t interested in making music any more. Lockett Pundt changed careers and become a software engineer. They are in indefinite hiatus at the very least.

I saw them at a tiny venue in Mexico City and its been one of my favorite shows ever. It was just perfect.
They solved the age old debate of Jaguar vs Jazzmaster by using both. LOVE LOVE
Came here to post the same 🤣
name pronunciation = unlocked! Thank you Jewel Loree
callum is a wizard on that kit
They’re so incredible live. Love this band to bits
I love Ulrika Spacek so much.
These guys are sick. Excited to check out their stuff
Modern English Decoration is my favorite album of theirs, but they're all pretty solid.

🎮most of any track is a solid hit... Asteroids: PASS 😲

Saw these guys in DETROIT, one of the best live performances from a band ever
Saw them live twice in San Diego! Had a beer with the lead singer. Awesome sound! I remember yelling out "Play some Victorian Acid!" they finished the show with that banger

Made my day seeing this! Love this band, such a massive sound
Los conocí y son mi banda favorita desde hace un mes, vinieron a CDMX hace dos meses, la vida es qlera.
Fortunate enough to have seen them in SF.... Hands down best show I saw this year.
Saw them live in Berlin last year and they were amazing. Very happy to see them to visit KEXP and get more recognition, they are severely underrated
Brings joy seeing these guys playing here, fan since their suggestive listening EP; KEXP has got their sound down, can't wait to see them again
First time hearing these lads. Very nice, what a ripped waves of sound.
Underrated band
I’m so glad they finally played on Kexp since they never tour anywhere near me 😢 hope to catch them live someday soon
One thing I love about this band is that they played a show in London on a late Wednesday afternoon 🍋🥤

Closest I’ve come to seeing them live and they didn’t disappoint.
Drove 8 hours to see them, so worth it ✨

rad. love this band. nice mix Syd.
тоже рад 🙂 хотя радиохеда местами многовато в вокале, кстати
Never heard of these gents. Fantastic set. You've another fan.
very satisfying cocktail of 2010s in the deadly serious atmospheric blogosphere 🥂

An exceptional live act and underrated
Would be amazing to see Spirit of the Beehive and these guys in the same show
excellent. It's been a long time i follow this band!
Love from Jersey
YES ! HA HA HA ! YES !
Awesome band and session
Also, did they endorse a band called, "A Ghost Column"? I can only find (an intriguing) one link on SoundCloud ☁
Finally I have been waiting ages for this

He tours with his mates from Sweden on the Astrel K project, they sound insane
@@joshkellyjones2968 Have you seen Astrel K live then?
@Zeokoz They played a free gig over in the UK, small tour, spoke to Rhys and they self funded the whole thing
This is incredible
This is really rather enjoyable
In an enjoyable kind of way
these guys are great!
Really stylish drummer.
Love it!❤
It's awesome !!!!

This is just perfect.
Saw them live in Chicago. They were mind blowing.
Anyone catch the band that Syd recommended?
Great band! We love your music!
We will come to London to visit you, I hope you keep your word on taking us around the real music scene! From Austin with love!
I think I found my band of the year.
This means I must have missed their west coast tour by a few months 😢
Greatest band of all time
Perfect
o man this is great - like Women(Canadian band)
❤️
beatiful
As a fan of the defunct bands Sonic Youth and Deerhunter, Ulrika Spacek is the only contemporary band that gives me that noise rock/post punk fix.
« Defuncts Deerhunter » uh?
@rycooder8265 maybe not totally defunct but they're not currently very active

Squid sort of fills that void for me as well!
@@timothyo718хорошо начинали, да. Ну, каждому своё, и всему своё время.
I'm getting a strong Radiohead vibe from these guys!
Especially the lead singer.
I like em.
❤
I discovered Tripwires first. They were one of my favourite bands. They were more shoegaze, but Ulrika is without doubt a great band.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤
give me lounge angst live !
I wonder who was Ulrika Spacek? Sounds like someone with Czech roots. Does anybody know anyting about it?
Nice tablecloth!
👌🎩
Mucho de Thom Yorke , buen sonido
I can’t tell if the guitarist’s shirts are hand made or if they cost 400 dollars
26 dollars in my hand (c) 🙂
At 26:44 I would have laughed so hard if they just said Compact Trauma
Im getting Radiohead vibes !!
Pero no se echaron las chingonas 😢
😮 nombralas por favor..
Yorkika Smilcek? 😆
😅
Mew
I thought the thumbnail was Conor oberst at first
Thom-son?
I'll have to listen to Radiohead today after this.
Tom yorke 2
Radiohead
Guitarist vocalist, reminds me of Jeff Buckley.
