Come to UK pls
Coming to Northern Florida?
From South Georgia and I doubt your coming to the nearby Graham Parsons guitar pull but that would be amazing.
Come to Thailand!
Hello from 🇺🇦
This is what Paul Atreides sticks on the radio as he traverses Arrakis on the worm.
perfect ! 😂
MY NAME IS PAUL MUAD'DIB ATRIEDES, DUKE OF ARRAKIS, AND YOU'RE LISTENING TO KEXP 90.3 FM LIVE FROM SEATTLE
I'm pretty sure there is a common structure. Maybe phrygian mode, or minor harmonic. Definitely something dark and mysterious in Glass Beams. I love it.
Yaaaas dude, I want this vibing out my bluetooth thumper speaker when I stroll in to the next con, boooooiiiii
@@QuotableMediaGroup "Bluetooth thumper speaker" is the grooviest string of words I've ever heard.
Whenever a band looks like this I always like to imagine a conversation where at least one member was like "I ain't wearing that, man"
For sure. " if I have to wear that frickin' thing one more time,...... "
It’s so that they are not perceived as typical Indians by the west. Their label had dealt with enough Indian scammers, it was a condition.
I was thinking the drummer
gimmicky af
gives them the anonymous vibe while still giving room for expression, music is the focus not really the appearance.
Evil Khruangbin sounds pretty good 🔥
Oh come on. Those guys wear wigs; these guys wear place-mats on their faces and have a synth. They're nothing alike, except for their songs sounding identical and having a similar gimmick.
Ah Ah Ah, same feeling for me : Khruangbin on the dark side ;-) Very similar guitar playing with some scale variations
ahha perfect description
@@TMBaugh I think you just described a sub-genre, but in a way meant to sound unappealing.
I know right, i wonder how khrungbin feels about them
I love how many people (including me) just had the algorithm drop this on their laps, took a bite, and said "mmmm, I'm so glad I did, I'll be back for more."
bro if you aint following kexp (and tiny desk concerts) you missin the point entirely. it's not just the internet algorithms. there are still actual people out there who know shit about shit.

Let us all feast at the banquet of tasty algorithms! 🎉
What would we do without the "Algorithm"?
Clicking on this video was a choice for me where I put my complete faith in the algorithm for giving me something I liked and I'm amazed by the outcome of my choice.
KEXP? Random band with a weird aesthetic? Sign me up!
Right.
I was like, what the hell are they wearing?! Then loved the music and shared it with a few friends. It has some Brand X vibes that I really dig.
I have found that if it's on KEXP, it's good!
Same here friend
Finally, an answer to the question: what if jewellery made music?
and vice versa^^
@@sietchtabr5120 you mean, what if wind chimes made jewellery?
@@bradleylintmore3492 Or something like that...🙂
Someone's wife is really busy with her beads😂
😮
Came for the thumbnail, stayed for the music
You can't not click on that
It’s true lol
i came cause they look like a metal band like Mushroom head or slipknot but man this kind of music is for mind travels
That’s facts!🍻
saaaaaaaame LOL
KEXP yet again demonstrating the immense value of radio and DJs boosting artists.
Seriously, KEXP has been my source of inspiration for a few years now. Discovered so many bands through their channel's great live performances. Never heard of Glass Beams before, but i've played this live performance 8 full times in the past 2 days, and I`m planning on seeing em live in Berliin soon.
Djs?
@@clarooscuro8705 the term DJ (disc-jockey) originates from radio hosts playing records.
Not every band on KEXP is my jam. But so many of my recent favorites have been found via KEXP its why i stay subscribed

The guitarist grooving to the music all the way through is part of the magic

The algorithm believed and trusted me that I was ready to hear this, it was right. I was ready and I´m never going back again.
The beginning of an aventure movie.
If you get a chance, watch them LIVE.
yeah. same. )))) 8 ((((
... it's not sentient.
litlebit arrogant but ok it’s you time no problem
I wish somebody would love me like the drummer loves wind chimes. What a band Glass Beams is, they truly teleport you to a distant time with their music, I feel like I am in a desert but in a cyberpunk dystopia, doing illegal car races in the desert with Glass Beams bursting out loud in the speakers.
the wind chimes are talking to me
15:24 such tenderness
I just feel like I'm doing a lot of acid while sucking on an elephant's teet. Maybe I haven't made it to the track you are at yet.
Damn good band mate! First time I've heard them and love KEXP (again) for introducing me to another great artist. Going back to holding onto the elephant.
underrated comment tbh
Racing cars is the last thing on my mind when listening to this music, but i'm glad everybody's imagination portrays something different.
That bass tone is just so tasty
Bully OST has lots of such
so buttery
I like.
It’s a very peculiar bass. I wonder what brand and model it is.
@@peterdefrankrijker maton big ben, i was searching for the bass and guitar brand, both are from the same australian vintage brand
I got an ad a few months ago, about these guys coming to town. I was intrigued, so I bought tickets. One of the best sounding concerts I've ever seen live. The levels were *chef's kiss*. Hats off to the audio engineer that night.
Found these guys when on 🍄🍄🍄. Been hooked ever since

Mirage 00:30

Rattlesnake 15:21
Thank you 🙏
This should be pinned! Thank you💫
15:21 I was expecting Stu to yell RATTLESNAKE at me for 5 minutes... but this is cool too. Dude's been heavy handed with those chimes, that's for sure.
Falto snake oil
ta mate
This is dopeAF. This is what I most appreciate the internet for; discovering music that I would have never otherwise encountered.
The audio quality is so good and crisp and I can hear so many sounds clearly the job by the audio engineers is done perfectly!
Definitely hell of a sound man
I was thinking that, before I started scrolling. This was mic'd up real nice.
Too much chimes
IMO the mastering of Mahal is better than the official audio.
@@brentwinfield5713 yeah that's the only thing that could have been improved a bit
The way not even 10 minutes in I bought tickets to their Dallas show. ❣️
Stuey's making everybody nervous who does he think he is?... 💚
Man that was the first thing I checked and they are not coming to where I am.
Dreamlike, Ecstatic, strangely familiar and nostalgic, fine tunes to lift your feet
Finally a band which appreciates great Vintage Bass lines as the fundament of each song!!!
I was thinking exactly that!
I'm a drummer, but trying to figure out what bass that is.
@@thefluxcapacitor1
I dunno about the bass model but for getting those vintage bass sounds you need two things:
flat-wound strings and a sponge next to the bridge to dampen the strings.
I’m a guitarist, btw.
@@thefluxcapacitor1 is it the same logo that’s on the guitar ? the guitar body looks like a Teisco but almost seems to clean and new.. not sure what they are ?🤷♂️
@@staffcarpenborg they're Maton guitars.
I did not expect Slipknot to be so thematically flexible.

I have no idea how I landed here. Algo did a magnificent job. This is a jewel
Same. Really a delight.
same!
Kexp always has great bands
Me too!
If this is your first time enjoying KEXP I highly recommend looking into their entire series.
Discovered this band in 2020 and it's crazy to see them blow up. They deserve it. Literally, unreal.
I don't know much, but I know I've heard more chimes from this video than I have in the last 40 years.
Everyone talking about the Khruangbin influence but Mahal be hittin me with that Thievery Corp vibe
geez not at all, nothing like each other
naw dawg that ain't it. thievery corporation is much more downtempo, floaty, and chill. glass beams is dope, don't get me wrong, but just listening to the music and disregarding their "aesthetic" they sound a lottttt like a darker and more edgy version of khruangbin, altin gun, or even someone like red axes, and the more rock / dark disco side of electronic music inflenced by the psychedelic turkish and tel aviv rock scenes. glass beams is pretty much only playing straight up phrygian, hungarian minor, and some melodic minor riffs, at least mark from khruangbin knows his way around some other modes lol.
Much more filthy vibes here than Khruang for sure. Wife digs them, I dig this.
Soooo on point.
A bit of Altin Gün too!
Saw them live in Chicago. Ah-Mazing! You think it sounds good here, seeing and hearing it live and being fully immersed in the music was transformative. A rarity to be able to be enveloped musically like that. Won't forget it.
I saw them 2 weeks ago, it rained the whole concert, and everyone was vibin. What an amazing band!
Nice
same!
göteborg? it was magical, sunsetting behind us
God was trying to tell you all to go home but you were too hardcore
I fucking wish
Cheers to you all that saw them
I wish I can find someone that will touch me the way the drummer touches those chimes.

Super fun while I'm working. got my head boppin away but staying in the flow!
Okay TH-cam algorithm, you did good today. Ruddy lovin' this!
Ruddy's happy!
Thanks hagrid!
Now leap frog over to Ozric Tentacles if you enjoy this.
A very big hug for sound team! Actually a bow!
KEXP sound engineers are masters Indeed
Na!
Usually I listen to metal or techno...not a lot of groovy or mellow stuff, but this is SMOKIN'.
Same, Priest and Motörhead but this was surprisingly awesome, almost some old school surf rock meets the dry desert! Talented musicians for sure.
Please tell me that means you're a fan of Electric Callboy.
People talking about good music on the internet, must be the most respectful and decent people I see on the net planet. Groovy music, glad you exist and thank you Glass Beams!
i love this band , randomly found them and instantly fell in love. gives me goosebumps like crazy, especially watching them dance haha
I discovered them earlier this year and I love the exquisite soft desert fusion psychedelic vibe they bring to the room

Preach!
They remind me of the mysterious masked character that appeared in GoT once and was never seen again
Quaithe, what a waste of a potentially interesting character.
That's what these guys should be. Never seen again.
They remind me of a character from the game Outlast
This band is badass. Just what I needed to hear. My late brother would love their sound!
Their sound could even make your late brother, on time
I have to agree with one of the comments down here. Came for the thumbnail, stayed for the music. And now enjoying reading the comments even more! It not only feels good to have discovered this band that is sooo sooo cool, but I'm reading comments from so many like-minded listeners who went through the same experience as I did! Isn't this what music and internet put together supposed to achieve? So beautiful on so many levels! Definitely subscribing!
I'm not saying they've watched Dune, but they've definitely watched Dune. This. Is. Good.
Dune haircuts for all
Thats actually Indian pop with classical mix
These guys are tapping into otherworldly vibrations for sure ✨
It's funny to think ppl in the middle east hear this and it's like hearing Taylor Swift on the radio
Ha, was asking myself how long it will take KEXP to get Glass Beams into the studio. Here's the answer.
Their lives don't sound it's live, how dedicated you must be to play with this precision! Bravo Glass Beams, you guys are truly amazing!!!
I love that feeling when you discover a new favorite band on a Sunday Morning. I LOVE U KEXP 💖
[one week later...] heck yea
I’ve never been pulled in by a thumbnail harder, but then the music was so much better than anticipated. Well done everyone.
Greetings from Anatolia, my beloved Anatolian Rock listener friends!
This is what I like about music it’s endless amount of sounds it can create and becomes an art to ears
this is so fuckin sick, thank you Glass Beams and KEXP!
I love this music. So glad I came across this band. Their music is so groovy and lush but it’s never in the way of what you are doin. I was listening to it in the background while working and I was enjoying it without it detracting me from my work. Actually kind of inspiring in the background or with your full attention. Love it
When I listen to this band, I leave earth & go on a cosmic journey with melodies that transport me to galaxies unknown.
Do ye aye?
STOP THE CAP.
The desert blues, the Sahara blues…whatever you want to call it, I never tire of it. Mdou Moctar, Al Qusar, Band Douhe, all this stuff is raw but ethereal at the same time.
Yes!. Artists like them deserve much more attention. Such an underrated gem. Love you guys! Always a fan
I love their EPs! The music is great.
And what a gorgeous bass guitar, damn!
Loving this vibration. I couldn't stop listening. Amazing musicianship.
Saw them live in Chicago - great show. This band is on their way up.
This band is awesome. I love their chill vibe-dreamy, thought-provoking, trippy and superbly executed. I can't wait to listen to them on my vintage Klipschorns.
Just record the first 5 mins then repeat it - All just the same.
@@Gary-gd2th Hey, the changes in their measures are pretty subtle. Have you listened to Robert Fripp? The more I listen the more I like them.
I’m 128 years old and I’m going to listen to Glass Beams every day until I die.
😂
Not to say that’s a long-term commitment. I’m just saying what I’m going to do.

Yesssssssss! I've been waiting for this for so long. Their live shows are hell of an experience and I highly recommend everyone interested to check them out. Love Glass Beams!!
That switch up around the 6 min mark is so on point. I could hear this in a bond movie for some reason. Class act.
Once again discovering great music thanks to KEXP, this made my day. Much love guys
I got hypnotized by the smooth catchy groove! Wonderful music, love it!
I'm happy to see Glass Beams on KEXP!
I saw them live this year. I didn't expect it to be such a party. They really exceeded my expectations 🤯
Do they talk to the audience live?
@@geomusicmove I don't remember them speaking to the crowd. At most, they may have giggled here and there at how wildly the crowd was reacting but there was definitely no "What's up Montreal, how's everyone doing tonight?
