So true... Been away from D2 since Black Armory and now trying to get back to PvP true form... I've regressed to what you referred as "knowing what to do and doing it"... Very frustrating spot to be in... I don't know if you would agree, but there's something about D2 that blocks me to get back to the lvl I was in D1... Probably just me, tho...
I was thinking that, they kept walking one by one into a very common sniper lane. We all do it, but surely after the first 2 people died person 3 and 4 might go a different route..
@@nebbie yikes, he's the slowest sniper I've seen. He just sitts there studying the circumference of his scope. Why do you people still follow this man like he's the second coming of christ on D2. He gets to quickplay bots while people who are good get the sweatplay bots.
Honestly that 1st tip really hit home, literally just played hunter for the best part of the last year. Realised how much I’d been limiting myself and how I can have fun on other classes when I was playing each character for Solstice of Heroes. 👏🏻 Thaks TV got a new off Main in my Warlock now
Character related decisions. Map related decisions. Team related decisions continuous. Enemy related decisions. Dynamics of current match or situation. Ulti economy. Positioning Resource management.
Shawn Patterson I couldn’t tell you exactly which video because I watch all of his content. It’s a fairly recent video, maybe one where he matches Loadouts, not totally sure
Really enjoyed this TV. Fascinating. I want to improve my game and was instantly interested in this. I hope you do more because I immerse myself in videos like this and about weapons armor how they work. I only have one character and got rid of the other two when forsaken hit. I really was disappointed about that and have felt a decrease in my own personal performance as a result. So that all said I can’t wait for more on this improvement of game sense. Hope it becomes a long series
Is it me or is TV SUPER DOPE in this game play....holy smokes ... you've always had great plays in your videos but most of this recent footage is standing ovation worthy. Keep them comin True Vanguard ♠️
I can’t recall which of the PvP Destiny guys I was watching, so apologies (Cammy, Fallout, True, Cool guy) for not having proper acknowledgement, said this but it realllllly stuck with me and has helped me immensely. They said. “Play YOUR game”. You dictate when and where you fight, you decide if to engage and you decide where. It’s all game sense and situational awareness. When I was grinding out 80+ quickplay matches for thorn I was averaging 2-4 K+A per game. I’m now hitting 12-14 average..not fantastic, no we ran’s yet but it’s a start. My reflexes didn’t suddenly get better, I didn’t get younger and better eye sight, but I am paying more attention to where I am and whose around me. It seems obvious now but man it helped so much. Thx to whoever it was I owe ya drink.
Game sense is so important and so many people don't understand it, i think thats why so many people comment things like, "I wish I had lobbies like that" when usually its a direct result of positioning and reading the game that the players looked so clueless
One way I used some nice game sense a few weeks back now: Playing on Citadel. My team is pushing the enemy spawn. I know that the spawns are about to flip. I run back to our spawn, take out one or two enemies that had spawned there because the spawns had just flipped, then I just sit on our side of the map for the rest of the game as my team spawn camped. The match ended in a mercy rule, which was great for me because I just needed Crucible match completions. Know your spawns, Guardians. It's one of the biggest things I focus on while playing in the Crucible.
I really never thought about the things that you was taking in the video but when I went in the crucible playlist it improved my gameplay so think you for helping and making this video it really helped me out it changed my gameplay
Dude I just using that combo in QP yesterday. Ton of fun. Spare is a solid gun to duel when I don't have sniper ammo and I can hipfire spam it at shotty rushers. Now to git gud with it in comp eventually...
Starglaed it is a lot of fun and I’ve never been one to use snipers. SR tho feels great for a 150 on console. It’s nice cause if I body shot someone I can usually clean up the kill with a quick tap from SR. If you don’t already, I highly recommend getting one with decent range. It makes a hell of a difference in the accuracy/bloom (at least on console).
@@bombventure agreed. Yea luckily the only Spare I ever got was from gambit. Rolled Extended Barrel/ricochet/rapid/rangefinder. Only missing range MW for the god roll but it's very very solid on console
TV, you are my favourite Destiny-TH-camr that I like to watch while I am on the toilet. That is something to be proud of. But, one thing: You get actual experience by playing against other classes.
Some if the most helpful PVP videos I've watched were Patrick Casey talking his way thru entire matches where he described in detail his game sense; why he was moving, what he was anticipating, etc. I have loads of experience, it's converting it to action that has been the sticking point for me.
100% sounds like a good deal and I'm very happy for you. I know you will do amazing where ever you are. I feel like my game sense from halo helped me get my luna my first couple months of Destiny. Its something that transfers to other games once you learn it.
You know vanguard, this is never something I could get in destiny 2. I had it decent in d1, but in bf4 people used to ask if I had eyes in the back of my head. As a pilot I was used to watching my surroundings, reading movements of people, and learning the patterns. I feel if I spent the time on d2 I would've enjoyed the game so much more. And btw love the cammycakes reference, he's my og dream teacher
I agree, I play about equally on all classes (been a Titan main since D1) but it really does teach you the strengths and weaknesses of your enemy, especially if you’re using the meta and watching how people (try to) counter you.
Also, headphones do help a ton. I bought a pretty cheap pair of turtle beaches for $60, an upgrade from the mic that came with the Xbox, it improved my gameplay more than anything. I can now hear a hunter jumping to the back left of my character. It’s the first thing I’d recommend to new players.
Game Sense is key to mastery of a platform and its mechanics, including everything in-between. how to control spawn rate with everyone moving around enough. how to move AS or AGAINST all the subclasses from past personal experiences around them. even reading gfaqs or reddit or looking stuff up across Destiny realm in real time that leads to constructive breakthrough thinking in your favor all the time or almost all the time. hell even sounds that go off that are linked to character movement. stuff like this is ideal in latter game play for improving your sense of play, pve and pvp based. time is a friend for learning these gifts through a game's experiences.
I don't need to experience the entirety of warlock and titan, just dawnblade and striker with OEM. Let's be honest that's all the crucible is right now.
Cammy is the reason I slide into the underpass of that bridge and wait a beat before sliding out fully. I'd be really interested in a "map tips" guide. I just feel like I'm approaching Vostok wrong.
I'd like to add that along with game sense being realistic about your own capabilities is needed as well. TV might make completely different decisions that for me would not be optimal due to his greatly increased mechanical skill. He might be able to charge through a doorway and slay out whereas I would need to be patient and go for less kills while maintaining a safer position.
Pro tip: watch the best players and absorb the way they play subconsciously. Since ive been watching destiny content for years, ive neglected this. But i need to do it more so i pick up on the way good players rotate and engage enemy players. Also i thought they took away the radar elevation shading? Anyway great vid!
"How weapons sound, and how they act" Me, who almost never plays with sound and game sense consists almost entirely of visual cues, i.e. map memorization, radar, tracking enemies: "Oh... oh no... what have I been doing this whole time?"
Just trying to pay attention to what you were doing in these matches almost made me have a stroke. I'm happy to remain a mediocre player, and watch you guys tear it up every so often.
Situational awareness. I have it. I wait for their spawn and boom, boom, boom I miss all my snipes and they all scatter like roaches... exhales in frustration.
Ever since I got my spare rations (decent roll perks are rapid hit and kill clip with a reload masterwork) and used my warlock I've constantly been outplaying and outperforming my opponents one day I watch a video on a hunter exotic that basically made my hunter build more effective than before since it was neutral game allowing me to take down supers by myself like DFP does expect on a hunter and warlock but still need to improve my game since
Hey TV, a bit off topic but I’m really looking forward to a bottom tree gunslinger Assasins cowl build during shadowkeep. If the exotic works with precision knives I can’t wait to see what you do with it 👍🏽
Game sense really is key, I just moved to pc destiny 2 and I’m still getting the muscle memory for the aiming and buttons but I realize when I’m talking to someone and not really paying much attention, I tend to just play a bit better because I’m so used to how the game works
You and cammy are the best players in this game in my 2 months of any kind of fps.and this apply to any pvp game...if you dont know the enemy you have 50% chace to get rekt.
You just gained a sub - really great and different kind of pvp vid - hope you follow through and breakdown some pvp games into examples of gamesense. Thanks!
Great video TV! About the topic, I think I have good instict regarding when a spawn flip will occur. But, I have really low game sense when it comes to predict spawns as I am pushing kills. Im not sure if anyone can follow what I mean
Game sense is great and all but against a team with good positioning and engagement tactics it’s very hard to defend especially with objectives involved. Not to discredit your aim which is pretty nasty but some of those guys would die and come back to the point where they died with a hand cannon and get sniped. Your teams positioning eliminated any opportunities for the enemy team to get in close. And your moved like a pack, disrupting spawns and controlling the lanes to the centre of the map which is excellent. I do agree with your points however but it’s more suited for you 1v1 engagements because if you go up against 2 competent teammates, unless you’re a slithery snake 9/10 times you kill one and die. Another thing I noticed is no enemy seems to react effectively when a super is cast.... these are normally my teammates XD. You’re disengagement is also impressive, you know what you can handle!
2:37 hm? How exactly does the radar ping height back to you? What should I look for? (Worth noting, Im not on the default color scheme, my radar is purple / yellow)

I hate that every class but Hunters get a one hit kill ability. Never seemed fair to me.
Nick Schreffler hunters are already so underpowered in pvp at least give the arcstrider melee,s one hit kills.
I mean, I do agree that the other two classes are a bit easier to use, but hunters not having one hit kills? That's just a lie
