well lemme see, what about creating 'how to ...' videos of PvP activity just like this one where it breaks down the setups into good hits or tagging of your targets or pending proficiency of different weapons for different playstyles ~Dion
Love the video all around and I definitely feel it was helpful. I particularly liked your bit about always banking on it NOT being a headshot since that's a good tip for me on even though I'm on PC now. I have to be honest with you though, that first clip you slowed down and went over as an example of why to always switch to your primary was definitely a miss. I think you just misinterpreted what you were looking at. That's not his ear, it's the very tips of the fur on his cloak. Nowhere near a hit to the body, let alone a headshot. Maybe give it another look with that in mind and you might see it. I just wanted to let you know now because you defended that quite staunchly and I feel like you're definitely gonna get more attacked for it as the view count climbs.
Haven't played Destiny in years, however I still love watching your videos. I really appreciate the fact that you're very family oriented. I may hop on fb one of these days and sub just cause you've always had great content over the years. Keep up the good work man, God bless you and your family.
Sign of a great father. At the very end of the video trying to sign off and doesn't think twice about giving 100% of his attention to his daughter. Good man. Enjoyed the video.
That headshot on the warlock in Nova Warp.. watching him from being in an “oh yeah, time to kill some fools” state to him falling to his knees dead in seconds is one of the best shut down scenes I’ve seen
This vid was awesome. It's a nice sneak peek into the mind of a top tier player. I love the footage break down with some frame by frame analysis. The shad step segment was very cool. This makes me wish Destiny had a theater mode.
the last bit absolutely made my day and the information and analysis were spot on, indeed streaks are all about mistakes, the less you make the longer it goes
Are there really people in the current D2 meta saying that snipers are too powerful? How can they possibly think that, between the flinch, lack of ammo, and the overall favoring of other special weapon archetypes, it just seems crazy to me. I was a middle school CoD quickscoping little asshole in my day, and sniping in destiny is a constant challenge to me. You can make it work, but as a testament to TV and his wisdom, you literally have to follow all of the tips in this video in addition to getting a good roll on a gun, and having good armor. All just to be able to compete. Great video, great plays as always man. Love how calm and collected your crucible approach is!
bro as a 52 year old with 2 young children..OG gamer daddy here..you putting your child in there like that..bro..priceless..and much respect my dude for your content..along with another youtuber who i finally sub'd to last night because he is an absolute madman the shit he pulled off in his last video and today i am smackin the sub for you to..have enjoyed your content for a while now...but my respect is not easily earned..but you my dude proved to me in this video.that my assumptions about you were right...daddy!!! and your child sounds precious and i hope that the whole content thing brings you what you need and allot of fun along the way..i always take something away from your videos and you along with that madman esoterick are how i have been able to get my head into destiny in a pretty short time and for that..much respect and a whole hearted sub.
Yep. Either way that feels like a pretty clean miss. The crosshair isn't actually on any part of the player model and he's moving away from the cross hair, not into it.
Dude I have to thank you for making these videos where you narrate your clips and explain strategy. It's definitely helped my pvp game, I'm still trash but I'm getting better
Wow TV I didnt know you worked that damn hard. Streaming, Teaching, Dading, Editing, Voiceovering, and even private videos only for FB. Thats very impressive and also very well done. Agreed 200% with everything in this video.
Hey man, this is Archaentus that played against you a couple of times yesterday! A bit star struck that I purposely switched to the love emote and had to use it if I was lucky enough to get you (might have a clip of the two I got on my channel lol) 👍🏽 It was great meeting you at GuardianCon and then playing against you yesterday. All your tips for sniping are what I’m trying to incorporate to really work on my snipe game and aggressive snipe game. Long ways to go yet, but thanks for your entertaining and informative content brother! Keep it up mate 👍🏽
I've been doing some insane quick scopes lately but I got to remember that sometimes I should try to make sure I get the kill then go for quick scopes in every situation. Also the switch to my primary tip was very helpful. Great content as usual.
As a relatively experienced PC sniper, I agree with most points in this video. The only one I'd sort of disagree with is the "Don't take a shot if you know it will miss." Sniping as a deterrent is an effective psych out. If you're in a game popping heads left and right, you can hold lanes even with no ammo because most people will simply be too afraid to challenge. I've had scenarios where I forget I'm out of ammo and go for a snipe, but just the glint of my scope causes the enemy team to scatter. This goes double for using the Revoker - take EVERY shot you are even semi-confident in landing. As an addition to tips while sniping, be confident. Don't give up a sniping opportunity just because the enemy is charging you or because the enemy team is clustered. Heck, I played a game earlier where Drewsky was aping me and I still nabbed a couple trades with my sniper. (The randoms on his team weren't great, so we ended up winning from all the easy pickings. He put up a great fight, though)
I found this video extremely helpful as I consider myself a good sniper in Destiny. I attended the True Vanguard Sniper School about a year or 2 ago. Thanks again TrueVanguard
Having watced this video I must say a big thank you. Playing pvp recently as I landed on the ground and I remembered your point of waiting for the reticle to stabilise, landed the headshot... wow just wow.. thanks bro.. just got the revolver...
I feel that things like bouncing reticule when jumping, gun swing with momentum, recoil, and flinch are what make Destiny's gunplay feel soooo good. As a stylised simulation it's part of what keeps the game engaging.
Great vid man, love your content. Yesterday I got a match on Equinox and used my Fate Cries Foul and Crimson and went on a pretty nice streak. It was probably my best match yet, I ended with a 17.0 Efficiency, which is the highest I've ever gotten. I've only just started using snipers to do my Revoker quest and I never thought I'd be a sniper guy, but snipers in this game just feel so good.
TV first time commenting. This video is extremely helpful you touch on a lot of things other content creators don't even touch upon. Thanks brother I appreciate it
I swear to god all these hours in TH-cam guides has gave me god level game sense like I feel I can accurately predict where the opens is and what they’ll do but I can never execute ,I always am ready for the flank and ready to snipe it but miss and get killed .i really need to grind the game for mechanical skill
@@LolLol-is1uv For what's it's worth, I personally think PvE helped out my aim quite a lot. I used to be garbage with handcannons, but I've been using an Austringer in PvE for most of this season, and I think it's really improved my aim with it. I really enjoy using it in PvP now that I'm used to it (and I play on console). I would treat PvE as a something sort of like shooting gallery so that you can break in new weapons that you may not be accustomed to just yet. You can take it a lot slower than even quickplay and really feel out a new gun.
Hey TV just wanted to say thanks for all the tips I finally got my lunas and recluse. Pretty much thanks to you. Now time to go grab mountain top wish me luck budd
Idk if he mentions this but CENTERING is a huge part of sniping. I noticed TVs centering wasn't always that great and he was below the person most of the time. You want to put your reticle in the middle of the screen
Being an aggressive sniper is something I'll never be able to do well with. I've always been a casual sniper since D1; mostly getting the high ground, by getting enough range away from the enemy before taking the shot. Since D2's Forsaken, each of my characters in PVP gets their role. I've been used to my Hunter being the dominant choice for sniping, so my mind becomes adapted to it. My Titan is more adapted to Auto Rifles and Pulse Rifles with a Shotgun or the occasional Bastion. My Warlock is used to Pulse Rifles more than Autos My Guardians do use other weapons like Scouts, Sidearms and Fusion Rifles. But there is one thing I don't do with my Guardians: RELY ON META LOADOUTS.
I appreciate vids like these. I'm a precision based player and Sniping is one of my trades. that's exactly how it goes to ads your snipes but I always feel like there are times if I dont ever get those hits when I break line of sight or I take too long sometimes to take the 1 shot that I should take in the moment and do the switch to primary anyways to brace for mid-range. I guess its like a brief hesitation or delay._.
Im a year late to this, but great tips. Its muscle memory for me to whip out my HC after every sniper shot and has saved me many times. Also i like the aim at the top of the head towards the health bar, those shots always seems to count, vice, the eyes/nose area seems to be body shots
Love the footage, great quality as always, but at 7:30 you're definitely on the cowl of that Hunter's cloak. That's how 80% of my snipes look: missing by about an inch. That's definitely a miss though. The second one is a bit of a toss-up, but I can see how that could have been a head shot. I love these videos, along with the video reviews and builds. Keep it up man!
As a father hearing your little one on there was awesome. I have a 2 year old and she loves to play with the remote and take the headphones off my ears! LoL
I employ the same tactic with revoker and Luna's howl. Go for the quickscopes and drag shots with revoker and swap to Luna's for the clean up or if I miss
TV, you forgot to mention something. If you have opening shot on your sniper... sliding out of an engagement is a good way to reset the perk (also reloading). Swapping wont weapons wont always do it.
Awe, your kid is so cute... the only thing I could suggest to get you one more potential kill is at the end of your nova warp, throw a hail mary grenade. You will instantly get your grenade back when your super finishes. It's like a freebe. In Vanguard activities (as well as crucible) you can throw a grenade, pop your nova warp, get a few kills, throw another grenade, get a few more warp kills, then throw the hail mary grenade. Your super will end and your grenade will recharge instantly, at which point you can throw yet another grenade. Nezarec's Sin makes this 4 grenade combo much easier to pull off. Thanks for the video.
At 7:30 you talk about the hunter breaking your AA and you tske out his teammate. Been doing a vid for that called, "Not you, your friend". Great vid as always
All special weapons are inconsistent in some way. Skilled players learn to reduce the inconsistencies of their preferred play style weapon. In the moment you may be a lil salty about a shotty ape, fusion crutch, or the high AA snipe, and sometimes people do get lucky but when you start using all the different types of guns and the play styles needed to use them, you appreciate the skill needed to use them.
Thanks for making the video, question though. In the fist clip there is a part where your looking down a sight line nail the first guy but then continue to ADS to nail a second guy. In the second clip you illustrate why you don’t continue to ADS after taking a shot. Is the difference in choice because of the map or just a confidence thing?
1. Use a sniper with as low a zoom as you can. 2. Enjoy the reduced flinch that low zoom scopes seem to have. 3. Try any sniper with a zoom past 50 and you'll notice the difference. Fyi, Revoker has 35 zoom and Beloved has 40.
We have a sniper in our clan who no scopes like crazy and does some crazy turn around instant head shots like it’s shooting fish in a barrel. Just nuts.
I don't think the reticle shake on landing is a bad mechanic at all. It gives snipers a hard limitation when pairing with vertical space usage. You have to make a choice between taking an inconsistent shot in air before landing, pacing your shot upon landing, or using another weapon that experiences less shake. Anything to encourage tactical primary usage is great IMHO
I get aim assist makes up great distances sometimes but the “ear shot” happened the way it was supposed to. With your crosshair on the side that they were moving away from, it made sense.
Hi TV. thanks for the tips! When you’re using a HC with a sniper, do you use enhanced sniper rifle targeting or hand cannon targeting? I would love to know your opinion on mods (like targeting adjuster on different weapons) combined with weapon targeting mods.
1:12 I wouldn’t say “there’s no reason to take a shot I will miss” I would’ve said... because ik I’m have some time (the enemy has to cast super and also charge up the insta kill) I have more time to line up a shot. It’s just like basketball if u give a player time to line up his shot, he will have a higher % of making it. Same with sniping, trust me if I have all the time in the world I will never miss that shot. But also u need to know how long u have to take the shot, and how that correlates to ur chance of hitting the shot. Sometimes it’s a play making decision to go for risky shots and sometimes ull die because ur unlucky
A Long Goodbye is one of my favorite snipers in D2, I get to use my precious kinetic hand cannons with it. Supremacy is my kinetic snipe For fun I'll use a Luna Nullis or a Aachen, if my shots are on point I'll throw on a box breathing tatara gaze to try snd snipe some supers.

I don't think the reticle shake on landing is a bad mechanic at all. It gives snipers a hard limitation when pairing with vertical space usage. I get aim assist makes up great distances sometimes but the “ear shot” happened the way it was supposed to. With your crosshair on the side that they were moving away from, it made sense.
Swapping to a sword before jumping then swapping to your sniper removes the reticle bounce when you land.
What sensitivity do you run
TLDR - Game Sense, Practice, Mechanical Skill. That's really all you need in three words - From a really good console sniper.
Liked this video for one reason only... The ending with your daughter! It was the cutest thing ever!
Wow this was great it taught me alot thanks
Hi TV. thanks for the tips! When you’re using a HC with a sniper, do you use enhanced sniper rifle targeting or hand cannon targeting? I would love to know your opinion on mods (like targeting adjuster on different weapons) combined with weapon targeting mods.
TV voidwarp question do you run the blink exotic or anything else you do while using the super?
Nice video. Do you have traction boots on at all times and play on a high sensitivity too? It seems like I turn and react very fast
Thanks for the info I'm a big fan for a long time 😁
Yessss! I'm so glad someone else agrees with my hatred of the jump- stagger mechanic! 🙌🙌🙌 Excellent snipes tho, well done sir 👌
Nice shooting. I need a beloved with snapshot. Only my revoker has it so I have to use Lunas howl to play similar.
8:00 ...Not really It's pretty far off his head.
A Long Goodbye is one of my favorite snipers in D2, I get to use my precious kinetic hand cannons with it. Supremacy is my kinetic snipe
For fun I'll use a Luna Nullis or a Aachen, if my shots are on point I'll throw on a box breathing tatara gaze to try snd snipe some supers.
Automatic like on every video. Good stuff.
