The use of the Daily Bugle in Superpup is interesting because after some research I found that the Superpup pilot was actually completed in 1958 and Spider-Man didn’t make his debut until 1962 and The Daily Bugle wasn’t associated with him until 1963. The Daily Bugle did have its first very brief appearance in Marvel Mystery Comics #18 in 1941 but was not used again by Marvel until 1962 in Fantastic Four #2.
The 1960s Batgirl short film was not a pilot for a spin-off series. It was made to convince the network to renew the Batman TV series for a third season.
I think the WB TV Wonder Woman gets away with outright killing bad guys if/when she wants is because she is essentially an uber-powered goddess and everyone in her city is quaking in their boots at the thought of standing up to her over anything.
If my memory serves me correctly I think they had planned on Wonder Woman wearing pants on her show until there was fan backlash and they changed it to her traditional shorts. But they kept some of the footage that was already shot. Also Batgirl (Barbara ) and Bruce Wayne did go on a date once on the show as well as Commissioner Gordon trying to set them up once.
Weird, I've seen all of these, including the 'Aquaman'. A couple of DC shows are missing. I have the 'Superpup' pilot on VHS along with 'The Adventures of Superboy' made around the same time; as well as the Palicki offering tucked away somewhere. There's also the 'Wonder Woman' TV movie starring Cathy Lee Crosby. Lastly, you sarcastically mentioned seeing a show about Clark Kent rather than Superman, but that's exactly what 'Smallville' was; for an astonishing 10 seasons.
Batgirl's cowl was changed because the pointed design left deep V's on her face when she took it off. You can't play Barbara Gordon with V's on your face. That would just be ridiculous.
One wonders whether there were undocumented plans for the 60s Wonder Woman to have a decade-ahead of its time story arc where her overbearing mother is revealed to in fact be Hipolyta in an end of season twist... Or not.
Mighty Mouse, Underdog, Secret Squirrel, Yogi Berry, Huckleberry Hound, Bullwinkle Moose and Rocky the flying Squirrel and many more animals cartoon shows were successful.
And then years later during the DC versus Marvel comic crossover that led to the amalgam universe where Peter Parker did work alongside Lois Lane at the Daily Planet I believe. I could be wrong though. But the show would have been interesting if they named Super Pup as Krypto.
15:30 in the comics of the show batman left batgirl pregnant but she lost the baby after getting hit while stopping a robbery (also nightwing beat the shit out of batman)
@@moonprincessRN A proper sentence heralds punctuation. It must be difficult for you to ascertain such lucrative concepts. The irony and hypocrisy of YOU pathetically attempting to correct another shows how imperious and levitous one as daft as you really is.
By that time Julie Newmar Starred in My living Doll as an Android 709 called Seven O Nine also called Rhoda, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie had powers and The Flying Nun wasn't much later.
There were depictions of WW being more altruistic like Superman in comics, but there are also eras of WW being a fairly aggressive combatant warrior more akin to TDK (she’s even scared him at times). Breaking bones and taking names isn’t beneath her in many cases, so don’t discount such a take on the character.
Hmm, I see some similarity between that 2000s Wonder Woman show and the 2016/2018-2019 revival of The Tick -- ditched most of its iconic humor and became needlessly dark and brutal... until I think they realized that about halfway through and started to lighten it up a bit, but by then it was too late to salvage.
I actually did watch the super pup pilot. It is very weird. Personally it would have been picked up if it was a cartoon. Rather than people in dog costumes
It was a show in the 50s, where they did not have the internet, pop culture and TV shows did not have 60 yrs of history and technology. While you don't get it is why you would not last in that generation during that time.
I saw the Wonder Woman pilot and I thought it had problems but also had real potential. Adrian Palicki was a surprisingly good Wonder Woman with a bad script and backstory. Had they gone over the show and eliminated a few cringeworthy moment it might have been something special
In our times where everybody would rather see aggressiveness instead of restraint this Wonder Woman would have worked, but the WW pre- Lynda Carter looked cringe from the get-go. And the Super Pup I think would have been okay for kids in kindergarten.
Instead of making Diana in office woman, they should’ve focused on her civilian identity’s connection with the military. Maybe make her a high ranking officer on a base primarily in charge of the new female recruit (turning club girls into GI janes etc..). They could’ve had the base commander be Trevor covering for when she needed to be wonder woman.
Wow Batgirl was created for the 66 show whaaaaaa Themyscira Industries oh my goodness lol, but at least the suit is vibrant and pretty nice for a leather 2010s suit imo
All I see is Bette Kane Bat-Girl in the 60s as well and 50s Katthy Kane, but those are not really the Batgirl any of us were talking about@@alfredosantana8995
I don't know how the author of this video feels about Adrianne Palicki. But, and this is not just because next to Sofia Boutella, for an actress of her age range she is one of rhe most surprisingly well spoken/articulate actresses I have ever seen give an interview. She would have been a great Wonder Woman in my opinion. She's a fine actress, watch the Orville, defenitley had the height and good looks, smoldering eyes! Plus she did her time in the gym you can tell! But of all people David E Kelley shouldn't have conceived and tried to producie that show. Also the writing and main story definitely was a misfire. But still better then that 60s fiasco as far as I can tell. Also in 2011 nobody would have complained if she wore the traditional skirt with those stems. But Carey Elewes might have made a good Steve Rogers.Roger's. Wait a minute, that's Pedro Pascal as the cop???? How many people who saw Wonder Woman 1984, which people unfortunately did get to see, realized he was in the unaired pilot? Those who knew about the pilot, lol! I think Palicki was considered for the Joss Whedon film version of Wonder Woman, maybe not on the short list though but I could be wrong. Either way I love that version of the costume, without the pants! Unlike the author I don't think I'm alone. Either way we don't need Amazon or that James Gunn Themiscyra series. We need Wonder Woman back on the big screen and word again, in her own movies and part of the Justice League. From what I read the other day we might just get the return of WW, recasted of course.😮
Wow, the research in this is really bad. Like claiming the Daily Bugle was ripped off of Spider-Man, when the show came years earlier. And neither Batgirl nor Barbara Gordon originated in the show, those also came from the comics. She was the niece and adopted daughter of Commissioner Gordon in her original storyline. Now it is true the producers asked DC if they had a female character they could use, but the original "Batgirl" only appeared a few times and was dropped years before. She was the kid sidekick of "Batwoman", a failed attempt at a love interest for Batman from 1956 to dispel claims the characters were gay. Batwoman for Batman, Batgirl for Robin. This was an era the comics went "camp", and even introduced Bat-Mite and Ace the Bat Hound. But a change in DC Editors dropped all of those characters in 1964. But that got DC to bringing back an updated version of the character, and when the producers saw concept artwork of the new character they bought her screen option. But the TV show did not create her, that was Carmine Fox (illustrator of Batman and other Silver Age characters) and Gardner Fox (story writer - who created such characters as the original Flash, Hawkman, and both the Justice Society of America and the Justice League of America).
I thought Superpup was hilarious, also the Wonder Woman from the 1960s looked goofy. My opinion on this video was that there was too much Wonder Woman from the 2000s.
How is Barbara Gordon's hair short but when she dons her Batgirl costume suddenly her hair is long and lustrous? Does she have to tuck a wig in there under her cowl? Gals have it harder than the guys at keeping their secret identities secret. All Superman has to do is put on a pair of glasses.
Wonder woman one costume looks like someone who went see a costume shop they didn’t know what wonder woman look like, and bought it for Halloween or comicon and also that’s superman Puppy thing looks bad.
The funny thing about 2011 Wonderwoman pilot Pedro Pascal (yea the guy that plays the mandalorian) appears in this pilot and is in Wonderwoman 1984. So he appeared in 2 Wonderwoman movies that sucked

Is it because it was supposed to be "The Daily Beagle"?
😂47 minutes of DC Shows I've never seen? Let's do this. (Adrianne Palicki doesn't need any explanation. Just put her in front of people)
Lynda Carter had that innocent look strong compassionate and attractive as Wonder Woman which is hard to replace today
The 1960s Batgirl short film was not a pilot for a spin-off series. It was made to convince the network to renew the Batman TV series for a third season.

Cathy Lee Crosby also played Wonder Woman in the 70s a little before Lynda Carter.
Yeah a terrible pilot that went nowhere.
If my memory serves me correctly I think they had planned on Wonder Woman wearing pants on her show until there was fan backlash and they changed it to her traditional shorts. Absolutely. Along with Eartha Kitt as Cat Woman.

Scooby doo
While you've gone too hard and heavy into DC (mainly Batman), I have got to say this is 100% a video that needed to be made.
Well done!
Who would’ve thought that years later Disney would have made a super dog movie. If WB made an animated movie it wouldn’t look bizarre 😅
As an actual Olsen I approve of the mouse.
You would be surprised how many different Wonder Women pilots was made during the decades😅
SuperPup maybe better as a cartoon spinoff series?
actually if this it was remade today, would it be called a Paw Patrol clone?
Holy crap super pup would have been terrifying
to me seems more like lance link secret chimp & flintstones even though it predates both on the superpup
The way you misunderstood Cavill's Superman just makes me question your take on everything...
Pretty much people conpletely missed all thegoid the character does, and focuses on the nick snap.
"Who needs superman when you have Clark Kent?"
...you know Smallville was a hit show, right?

Watched some of that show on Saturday mornings. Was shocked to discover there a DVD release!

15:30 in the comics of the show batman left batgirl pregnant but she lost the baby after getting hit while stopping a robbery (also nightwing beat the shit out of batman)
Ummm. What? I really doubt that any comic based on the 60s tv show had that as a plot. I think you are confusing it with some crappy Non-canon series.

Gota say, "Who's Afraid Of VIRGINIA WOLF" must have inspired the title of the Wonder Woman pilot!!!

Linda Harrison that played Nova in Planet of the apes played Wonder Woman's imagined reflection in mirror.
