I don't usually care for theming and I don't think it adds anything to a ride experience. But why even do it if it looks like crap? That literally just looks stupid.
I think they have gone a bit of a cheaper route by buying cheaper steel because the price of steel increased so much. I don't know of that is the issue of the roughness but it's very sad to hear from the most reliable roller coaster manufacturer.
@@maxhagenauer24 Nahhh, most roughness nowadays comes from the trains. And B&M has always overbuilt their trains and has the best chassis in the industry. B&M has never been a discount manufacturer, always the premium one. So, I don't see them really trying to save money like that. Just increase the price and they have their 2-3 jobs they take on every year no matter what. I'd say it's just because of the train design. They may have been making cut backs there, or trying to streamline/lighten it. Maybe to compensate for the floors that are now on the train instead of a floor in station that lowers? So they weakened support elsewhere to compensate for weight? Who knows. That bump at the end turn though has to be a defect.

Definitely a prefect fit... had the longest line in the park when I went, and the rattle was barely noticeable to me (the jolt at the end is weird but not painful) Im just happy my home park got some love and an ORIGINAL coaster is the cherry on top
That top view is so short yet ~so~ nice. Picture perfect . Would love to see a return to Dorney Park after the greenery goes/grows around this coaster. A 4k pic would go right into my PC desktop wallpaper folder, just like this one did.👍
I got to ride Iron Menace last Saturday and I agree with your review. The elements are all great and I love that the pacing brings one right after another. I did notice slight rattles in certain spots but they didn’t bother me. The jolt at the end is concerning but not towards riders getting hurt as it’s not painful at all. I worried what it will do to the train and track over time. Hopefully it will get corrected by the beginning of next year at the latest. Overall it’s great coaster and I’m happy my home park finally got a new coaster.
At 6:57 I believe this is because the vests are are more top-heavy than the OTSRs, making the ride more rough. This is just speculation, but it is the best explanation I can think of.
One of the most interesting things I saw about this coaster is that it features a 48" tall rider requirement, while the other newer dive machines are all 52"+, so definitely a plus to increase the number of people able to ride it! Looks like a great coaster, happy for Dorney!
2:30 hope Dorney can re-name and re-theme Possessed to fit. Maybe add some bits of steel-working themeing throughout the area between the two coasters. I think that would help a lot.
Possessed will be rethemed and repainted within the next two years but will not be renamed as it fits the paranormal vibe of the area. The holding brake will also be operational again when it opens with the retheme.

First visit was today, and I completely agree with you on the “roughness” on the edges. It feels like it’s “clunking”, in a way, on a few of the elements. It’s kind of like a pothole on a Gerstlaur. The worst of it is, as you mentioned, on the turn into the brake run. Hopefully they fix this before it causes issues…
i think the new b&m rattle / shake is from the new seats being a lot less heavy then the old seat and restraints design, the same reason why the intamin single rails have a rattle.
I would love to see Possessed get some new paint with the track remaining yellow and the supports painted black. Hopefully they could put some theming in que line as well.
Michigan's Adventure is my home park. Getting weird signals there. Every year I'm pleasantly surprised by how much work they are doing to renovate the park. @carysage yes valleyfair is mine and feel like they keep enough on hand hopefully more employees at parks this year...it sucks when I went to worlds of fun and most of employees acted like they were in a prison camp...
So. Dorney is a homepark of mine. I finally was able to get on this. 3 times in all three rows. My thoughts. Its a good soild ride, perfect for Dorney as Dorney is not a large scale park. It has great pacing and i love there is no mid course break. Themeing is great but the ride operators are now back in usual cedar fair uniform just fyi. I think that was only for the opening week they where dressed as iron workers. It does have a pothole during that wrap around though and its a little rought through the inclined loop. Besides that its a solid ride. FYI before anyone asks and i seen this commemt before on why Dorney didn't expand it or expand behind iron menace and steel force. Reason, the park is in Whitehall township and city ordinance state that every paved area on your property you need to have equal parts grass. Its stupid but why Dorney cant develop towards the back of the park.
Very happy by this addition. We haven’t gotten anything since I was a kid and I don’t really go to Dorney anymore but I’ll def be going this summer to try this out
That entrance into the brake run makes me think of Raptor's entrance into the brake run. On Raptor, my head pinballs between the bricks next to our head if I don't brace for it. I am a fan of the vest restraints for the no-headbanging, however, it does seem that there's something to the design of B&M's vest restraints that make it more likely to rattle, even when brand new.
Once the grass comes in and the get some lighting I bet the steel pile looks cooler. Also I'm guessing it's the smaller track that reduces the smoothness.
It doesn't look like Dr Diabolical but I would compare it most to Emperor. Its kind of short but it has no mid course brake run so its a longer whole ride than other dive's first half that do have a mid course.

it is quite weird how most of these new b&ms have some kind of rattle or jolts, b&m must have changed something with how they manufacture there rides recently, and its weird because they used to be known for smoothness.
Per that last turn, i think its just a strong lateral. Like the helix into the break run isnt smooth and aligned and you can see the track have to go left to compensate for overshooting the turn so to speak. On wildcats revenge, those moments of laterals are fun. Here, it causes concern. Which is odd because i have always complained thay b and ms are getting too boring and graceful. I miss the 90s intensity, whip, quick transitions. But as soon as a b and m has some bite, we all get confused and dont like it.
What on Earth is going on with B&M? They were literally KNOWN as the kings of smoothness. I mean I can ride most Batman clones 20+ years later and they are glass smooth. What the heck?
I'm sorry but are you not well? I genuinely don't understand how someone could greyout on this ride. There is no force at all. The only fun part is the jolt at the end.

But as soon as a b and m has some bite, we all get confused and dont like it.
it is possible to have strong laterals without a jolt like that.
@@CoasterStudios maybe they can reprofile it so that the train doesnt level put until after its in the straight track
What on Earth is going on with B&M? They were literally KNOWN as the kings of smoothness. I mean I can ride most Batman clones 20+ years later and they are glass smooth. What the heck?
Its the Orion Dive Coaster
Won't be riding till 2027 sadly
This ride will probably go down to fix the design flaws for a few weeks this summer. But damn for a new coaster to be jolty....idk
I'm sorry but are you not well? I genuinely don't understand how someone could greyout on this ride. There is no force at all. The only fun part is the jolt at the end.
Late to the party 😅
designing a ride that causes a gray out is a failure of a ride imo.
Question - Does Coaster Studios have a dress code? I noticed everyone wearing khakis and a shirt with the logo. Also I heard the term "pop" at the end, as a reference to the GP, lol. As much as I laughed, I do see ties to a certain National Socialism party......and as a Democrat, I support yall 100% Praise Palestine! Release the Sarah Pair!!! Yeet Yeet
I mean the ending could be worse
It could be Pegasus at Mt Olympus
🤷♂️😂
