I think the weakest needle drop was the song from Grease in the car fight. Was kind of jarring when you consider the context of that fight. I still think an upbeat pop song could have worked. But "You're the one that I want" was certainly not it.
They could have used 'You're the one that i want' in so many better ways, like a Deadpool dancing montage, or a dream where him and Morena Baccarin are remaking the original Grease scene
Who's keeping up with the new marvel films? So why their refrences in this movie? I had doubts that 8.1 imdb rating is just because core fans got some dopamine rush and rated it.
I know the plot is trash, but there are lots of elements made me won over this movie with some heart in it. It reminded me of why I love popcorn flicks like Back to the Future, Terminator, Temple of Doom, Jurassic Park, and Die Hard.
I hate modern comic films, I liked Spiderman(the first one), I also thought Logan was excellent, but the majority of them with the cheesy modern humor, and bad acting, gets a thumbs down from me. Maybe I'm just old tho..
Good idea, only thing is I have only seen maybe half of them, and haven't been keeping up with most of the newer ones, but I'll probably just do one anyway.
I genuinely couldn't agree more mate. Fan service over service to the story and narrative. There are actually quite a few edits to the framing device of the movie they could have done easily to make it more streamlined. But they just seemed to care more about setting up references than anything with any substance.
@@JangoDisc It feels like marvel has fallen off so hard that everyone is desperate to like something more than it deserves. This is the biggest proponent of that. It's got all the problems of a No Way Home but dialled up to 11 (ps I quite like No Way Home)
@@choppabrown3741 I don't mind references and fan service in moderation. But that can't be all you've got. It's like fast food filmmaking, it's not nourishing in the slightest
I liked deadpool 1 and 2 however this disappointed me a lot For me particularly the pacing was to fast and things we are going just too fast, secondly the jokes we are not at all funny like they use to be in Deadpool 1 and 2 IDK how people found the jokes funny they were just edgy and cringy jokes that a 15 year old would crack.
That's a good idea! I think I actually will do that soon now that you mention it. Although tbh my collection is nothing special, but it could be a fun excuse to talk about a bunch of my favorite movies. Thank you for the idea, I'm gonna do it
It makes me optimistic about the MCU because everything has been utter trash since Endgame/Infinity War. This at the very least opens the door with Mutants coming into the universe and making it exciting again.
the door has been open for X-Men since Endgame, and this movie didn’t do anything extra for them, in fact they reestablished the X-Men timeline, keeping it separate from the main MCU timeline. Idk much about Secret Wars but I’m guessing they will clash then and then X-Men will finally get their movies sometime after 2027. The recent Doomsday news tells me that they are not ready to do something new and fresh, or they tried and feel like it didn’t work, eg. Eternals, so have immediately backtracked to using the known successful formula.

It was fine yea but the 4th wall breaks got tiring and there was an actual “erm he’s behind me isn’t he”
Yeah haha I forgot about that
As much as I am excited for this movie I’m still burnt out of the mcu
Yup. They had a great run at least
@@JangoDisc I feel like they should’ve ended it after endgame or started completely fresh with new marvel characters they never used before In the mcu
So in other words it's a deadpool movie.

Totally fair, I can get why this movie is winning most people over. Just not really my thing I guess.

Lol yeah I feel you man. I do enjoy some of them, but a lot of it really is pretty awful
Ouch Jonah Hill took it personal.
Do an MCU tier list

Glad I'm not alone on this. Wonder how the conversation about this movie will change once the hype dies down

I’m going to be mad that you disagree with me 😡
Haha I'm definitely in the minority on this one, so I suspect most people will disagree with me

Yeah having mutants and X-men could definitely be a nice change of pace, will be interesting to see what they end up doing with that
