Just purchased a bunch of telltale games with dlc for 12.00 dollars off Humble Bundle sales…. I have saved more money from PC games than when I used to buy games on console. Also I get way more benefits on PC than console. I can also use controllers and Keyboard and other peripherals on PC aside from the other things PC let’s me do.

Just the other day I bought a fuckton of Lego games for $40. $4-5 each, about eight games in total. That included all three Lego Star Wars games, all three Lego Batman games, both Lego Harry Potter games, and Lego City Undercover. Literally my childhood for pennies on the dollar. And that's just one example of how much I've saved from key sites. IsThereAnyDeal is probably my favorite website ever.

11:14 My steam library has 246 games. And I have spent about 1 100€ on them. So average price of my games is around 4.50€. Give me a console that sells games just as cheap.

I know this response is 2 years late but, since I switched to PC 10 years ago I've spent 2-300 Pounds on games. My collection has around 1000 legally owned games. Over 400 were free from Epic Store alone, I have every non F2P game they've ever given away, including one Epic gave away years before they set up Epic Store (Shadow Complex Remastered). Some of the stuff Epic has given away is bonkers, proper big AAA stuff, and some good games too. I tend to buy on Steam and collect freebies everywhere else.

Most my PC games that are on console also have been bought on steam at a much lower price than xbox. AAA titles tend to always be 60 unless you catch a sale. But in my experience i save alot more money buying on pc. The prices are much more competitive. Consoles are sterile closed markets. There is no option on PS5 or Xbox to get games from a different distributor. They can literally charge whatever they want with no consequence.

Here are my specs from my new rig that i built around this ytime last year
    Thermaltake tower 900
i7-6950X with a MSI Core Frozr XL
32GB of RAM and over 10TB of Space
    MSI 2070 Super
Despite my cpu being highly overpriced, the power behind it (10 cores, 20 threads at 3GHZ) operate must faster and has more power than the consoles that will last for another 5 years as long as the gamess that I play don't magically bump up their specs requirements.

I don't like how Activision tries to overcharge for games like black ops 2 on steam but I personally do think for the most part I prefer steam deals over and playing some of my favorites with mods which are free (don't exactly get where console players find these "paid" mods tbh) as opposed to the nickel and diming on console

if you want to play one game without internet then maybe a console but a pc is the best option still. is aight but if you want to play many games go pc because which is cheaper? games that go up to 90% sales most of the time and they can go to under 10$ to even for a dollar if you are lucky, or games that are stuck in 40 to 60$ range because the companies that sell em rarely do discounts and they take a long time to go to a reasonable price. and there is paying to play online which is the biggest deal breaker for anyone from 3rd world country like where I live. no one here is paying to play online here in malaysia pc is supreme.

If you care about ray tracing and 4K (although I understand it’s not native, it’s checkerboard on console) and ray tracing (which for the most part is running in medium settings) a $500 dollar PC would not be able to do that with decent frame rates at this current point in time. when the chip shortness is over and 4000 series gpu are out and we see 30 & 20 series prices come down dramatically including used parts yes. Now if a pc gamer wants to play @ 1080p then it’s definitely doable.

Only case i can say consoles are better are PSN plus titles and being able to trade in games,
this year alone i paid £21 for 12 months PSN plus in that i got Soulstorm for PS5 a £50 game so i'll be saving hundreds of pounds, then take titles like Marvels Avengers if you bought that on PC your stuck with it but a day one buy on console means you can finish it then sell it off, seems like a way better option and where talking about the few titles not in a subscription seeing most games are in one the little few titles like Resident Evil Village for me i have two options buy and sell on console or wait months for it to go under £20 before i buy.

    • @bon4011
      @bon4011 2 ปีที่แล้ว

PSN Plus titles are nice half the time. This month overall is a good month, the other 2 passing months were trash. And here's the thing, you don't own those titles. You have them as long as you're a PS Plus member, which you need to play online portions of games

Prebuilts are notorious for having stuff plugged in wrong, using no name parts, just general negligence on assembly (Ntm really guilty of having bloatware)
Also, real talk, the tangent on the upgraded console is why I think the idea of the Switch Pro is bullshit

    • @overdrivedrinker8284

That is true. For example, when I was swapping cases for the prebuilt pc I have I noticed that they put almost no thermal paste on the CPU. Thankfully thermal paste is pretty cheap all things considered and now it’s fixed
Though I understand if you would rather go prebuilt than just building it yourself. Even though building PCs isn’t hard, some folks just don’t wanna do it

There are other ways, such as buying the parts and paying someone to build it for you, or if you have a friend that can help show you how to build your first so you never need to worry again. BTW, I do re-pastes every couple of years on my CPU and GPU, I like to give the coolers a good clean too so I do them together. It's an especially useful skill to build if (like me) you buy used GPUs, I like to re-paste a used GPU, as soon as I've ascertained it works properly I break it down and service it. Did that with my current unit even though it was under a year old when I bought it, and didn't need it really but I like to have peace of mind, most "random" GPU faults occur through lack of maintenance.

I spent about as much on the GPU 9 1/2 years ago as I did on each of the PCB and CPU for the initial build. In electronics there is a saying: "Buy cheap, buy twice".
