In the attempt to make console gaming look just as good, he lies and tries as HARD as he possibly can to find negatives of the PC and just ends up sounding desperate. Same here. Tbh PS3 was the last console I ever bought. Once Sony announced subscription based internet on the PS4, that was the final straw for me. I was absolutely DONE with consoles period!
I have a laptop and a console, do not consider me a peasant but I prefer consoles because my fingers are big and I'm imprecise with which key I press and end up accidentally pressing two at the same time, I blame my restrictions, hands, and inaccuracy for not being a good pc gamer ;-;

you know you can buy a variety of keyboards to suit your needs which you just can't do to the same level with controllers
nothing wrong with that, i would just say tho if that's the only reason then you can use controllers on pc in the majorty of the games now days. Heck xbox 360/one controllers works with just a n usb or with an adapter for wireless, if you're more of a ps controller user then you can use that too but some games has some trouble finding it more so older games but it's a easy fix with free sofwares that you can use to easy recognize the controller.

The "level playing field" comment is starting to annoy me, i see it a lot by some console gamers. I used to play cs go on a i3 laptop and i can at 720p at a whopping 30 fps. I managed to get up to MG1( a decent rank in cs go). I was outplaying some of my friends who had better computers by far. The computer does not limit the skill. The computer limits the types of games you can play, and i all reality you only need the minimum specs to play at decent frames.

FritangaPlays that is like circular logic that rev is using. He is so excited for the corporation talk and deception of Microsoft that screwed its install base back in 2013. He is so excited for a locked down restrictive imitation outdated pc with parts from 2009/2010 that would be mid tier at that time juncture.
Plus he purchased a rig that has a gpu that can barely handle 1440p at 60 or 4k at 10 fps and then he bitches about it. He probably had to lower the visual fidelity to even run the game decent. He shouldve went with a 1080 amp extreme or a ROG 08G and then the results wouldve been far different.

I started gaming on an *old* PC. When I was little my dad had an IT company, and he'd bring home old computers, he used those to make a PC all us kids could play on. As the years went by that got outdated, and we got a 360. I played on that for half a decade, but then games like minecraft and Skyrim showed me how amazing customization is, and I got a laptop that could run minecraft with mods. Now I've got a thousand dollar PC that I built myself, and though I also play on PS4 the PC is my platform. It's just better than consoles, the "convenience" of a console doesn't beat the power I have over my PC.
it's not just the power but the freedom, choice, customization, options, functions, devices, and more importantly... the games.
And the prices. Just got $40 worth of games for a few bucks off humble bundle.
And the emulation. U can play uncharted on the PC for free! (well not nessecarily free because ps4 iso sites are unreliable... They'll give you surveys whenever they can.)

I'll use this as a great example of how SoliDrev is playing on PC like he'd play on console. Mods allow for customization that is impossible on console. So what if I lose a few frames, but get a house I can drive around Skyrim? Mods are a huge selling point for PC, and he ignored them.

I've actually had an opportunity few in my position get. So, back when Fallout 4 came out, I was pretty much locked into PC gaming with the rare jump back to console, mostly just to play Gears of War 3, MGS Peace Walker, and GTA V where I was pretty much just operating vehicles for friends.
Anyway, my roommate at the time got Fallout 4 day one for the Xbox One, but he had to work that night, and asked me to play it for a few hours to sum up the new settlement system and how to use it, as well as to get an overall feel for the story and gameplay. It maintained a very stable 30 FPS, and I think I remember seeing it have peaks nearing 60 FPS. Mostly though, it tended to hover around 44 - 51 FPS, dropping to the afformentioned 30 whenever enemies rezzed in, so fairly often. I don't know if it was a feature, but whenever combat was likely, all the way until there were no hostiles remaining, the game felt locked at 30 FPS for the sake of performance. Mind you, this was three and a half years ago, so I might just be remembering my whopping 4 hours of gameplay inaccurately.
A short while later, I got back together with a band I'd fallen out with, and the drummer had a PS4 with Fallout 4 on it. I got to play a new game for a couple hours after practice one night, and it was pretty much 30 FPS across the board, never picking up, but never really dropping either. It was like an ideal 360 / PS3 era game, except it was on PS4, so that's not exactly a compliment.
Finally, when I'd saved up enough money, I got Fallout 4 on PC for myself. Generally stable 60 FPS even in combat, occasional frame drops / stutters, and periodic crashing. Mind you, I use F4SE and a LOT of mods; nearly two-dozen settlement mods- longer power lines, Homemaker, build wide, build high, better stores, powered refrigerators, Do-It-Yourshelf shelf mod, etc...- dialogue / quest patches- making Preston stop giving you new quests before you turn in your completed ones, getting rid of overlapping dialogue glitches, etc...- another dozen or so armors, some work station mods, custom weapons like the modular AN-94 and FN-57, custom radio stuff like Pip-Pod, and generally, just mods that make the game not bad. Point is, there's a LOT going on, so I'm honestly not surprised when there's a hiccup, or the game just crashes. Even still, it's just better on PC.
one thing about installing games and running into problems is that, once you get that all fixed and your FPS is steady and the game looks good and you're worked and done a bunch of stuff to make your experiance better, that happyness you and and that feeling that you accomplished something to make your game run and look better, that makes playing the game that much better, knowing that you worked to get that experiance.
the problem I have with PC at the moment is... when I do jump online once in a blue moon...

I'm a console gamer gone to pc and my motherboard just went out and guess what I still don't want to touch my ps4 pro. I've even convienced my buddies to build their own pc because it's better. Even I have to admit that.
well when i moved to pc from console i saw the difference and it had me hooked. I went to a friends house and played gta 5 on his ps4 and holy crap the framerate was SO bad and there were so many frame drops. Idk how they can handle that or think its smooth in the slightest

I sold my PS4 earlier this year to build a PC and I never want to go back. I have a Pentium g4560 and a gtx 1060 6g and performance issues in game are pretty rare for me. The only game that I had real performance issues in was the Forza horizon 3 demo where there was some stuttering but even then it wasn't so bad that it was unplayable (but im not going to buy the game because of it). But the only reason was the game was just optimized like trash, so I guess i'll just have to play one of the 3000 better optimized racing games.
Well optimized is one of the last words I'd use to describe the Far Cry Games

Me and my old man both play Conan exiles. I play on PC and he plays on ps4. Over Halloween there was an event that took place. When the event was done, and they sent out the updates to get rid of it, mine took less than 5 minutes. His update however took almost 2 hours. Makes me want to switch to ps4, I mean you just plug it in and play, so simple.
I don't think this guy has ever played a match of 'Siege of Shanghai' on BF4 on a console...
Also it's better to have building disappear for a few seconds then to have the game crash because my xbox cant handle just a little too many mods

I think that this roots from people buying PCs thinking that they're only for gaming, and when it's so unfamiliar people get left with a bad impression. Personally I use my computer for watching videos a majority of the time, but it feels so natural to just open up steam and hop into a game and hop out when I want to.

Loved the video and thought I could contribute to the conversation. While I won't say consoles are better in any fashion to PC, I will say they do serve a purpose that is not AS easy for PCs to capitalize on. The party play nature of consoles right now outshines the PC. This is always something that comes to mind when someone brings up that consoles are easier to pick up and play with. Through all the waiting modern consoles make you do, at the end of the day it is a more simple thing to load up when it needs to be. None of this is to say PCs don't serve a wider purpose or audience. But the party play feature of consoles is where I think they can and in some respects still do shine. People don't want to worry about if a game supports controllers or if it will run on their machine. They want a simple solution to gaming fun. Loved the video and thought I could contribute to the conversation.
Chris well thank you ! :) I appreciate any feedback but I must also point out there are more split screen games in PC than consoles. I'm not sure if that's what you meant by party feature
I was mainly talking about how it is usually easier to set up local play on console than on PC. I personally do play a lot of local games on PC, but at least in my experience, it is easier to setup controllers, and a space to play because not everyone has a place to play local easily for their PC setup. As much as it is against the PC regime to say, but I do think consoles are a great option for people who don't want to worry about the specs or the setup for their games. I would say for right now, PC is a better investment for gaming. But if consoles get their act together and focus on this aspect of local easy to setup multiplayer they could be an amazing option for the market.
Chris hmm i see what you're saying but i believe that argument is slowly dying as PC's are becoming more affordable and are more versatile it's getting easier to setup in this day an age. For instance i often visit a frined who has a beast PC setup on his big screen in the living room all i do is pick up a controller (wireless) and we play. Castle crashers, battle= block theater, goat simulator, bloody trapland. His Ps4 literally sits in the dust by the microwave

My pc is equivalent to a 2016 BMW z4... while my PS4 is a 2010 Honda Accord...
tbh console and pc players for a game should have their own servers, but if they want to play together for example siblings wanting to play the same match but one has a pc and one a console they can by inviting one another. but otherwise the keyboard and mouse is a much better controller for nigh on everything so it creates an uneven playing field, at the very least and probably the best option is a setting in the game that would make you play in a lobby with people using the same thing so that it's an even playing field for everyone.
What's sad is when i moved to pc i started playing on a laptop that wasn't made for gaming, but my experience on pc was just so much nicer than console. I mean yeah my graphics and framerates were god awful but it was enough exposure to pc that it motivated me to build my own and just drop consoles entirely. So I don't see how after a year with a GOOD rig he doesn't just stay on pc.
It changed my mind, from console to PC, controllers=trash, and PC is cheaper, $400 PC vs PS4, my PC works perrrrrrfectly fine for a good year, no frame drops, more optimization, PC is superior!

I sold my cousin my old PC. Had an FX-6300 and an R9 280x. Pretty decent build. Talked to him the other day and he told me he got Ghost Recon Wildlands. I said oh cool, what settings are you running it at. He goes "what do you mean?" I gave him a blank stare and say... "uh, the graphic settings??" He goes "OH! I actually got it on PS4." I go, "um...why???" He goes "oh well I can't play third person games with the mouse and keyboard, I need to use a controller." God, I wanted to smack him so hard...SO BUY A FUCKING CONTROLLER!!!! UGH!!!! I thought I converted him to the master race, but he has the blood of a console peasant flowing through his veins. Makes me wish I never even sold him that damn PC... -_-

Well, PC DOES have drawbacks. I can only really think of one though. And that is compromises. You either have to make a compromise in convenience or in price. When building a PC, it's much cheaper, but also a lot less convenient. You can configure it more, but sometimes you just want to buy a PC and start playing. In that case, you sacrifice price. Prebuilt PCs are WAY more expensive*. They're more convenient, at the sacrifice of cheaper prices.
*Very low-budget prebuilts are sometimes cheaper than build-it-yourself PCs because many PC building businesses get a discount on the OS, and that discount can be larger than the prebuilt-tax.

I just bought The Division 2 on PS4 (I am a PC gamer) for 3 simple reasons; it's cheaper, I can play with a friend and also I don't want to play on the Epic Games Store.

I have a descent collection of thousands of games.As a collector for physical console seems to be the better choice for games of today and kind of a while back especially for resell.As well as console exclusives.However for the most part yes I would prefer to game on PC cause of mods and better visuals.
but the thing is , console games often are hard to find ( had to get Sonic Unleashed digitally on Xbox360 because the disk version was impossible to find
solidrevs problem is, that he has no patience. when theres anykind of problem, he just buys the next thing. i switched from ps4 to pc. 60fps, cool graphics but i wasnt so impressed. i gave it a chance and then learned how i can optimise the games to make them badass, just like i want. skyrim for example is like a different game on pc, even with just one mod. there are so many other things to optimise. and the accuracy with the mouse is just so much better.

He's having frame drops in fallout 4 yet I'm here playing fallout 4 on a 1050 which is the lowest end current gaming gpu (other than the 1030) and I don't see any frame drops.

I'm a PC only gamer (and a casual and a scrub for that matter) but I do get the concept that PCs and consoles each have their advantages and disadvantages... but do consoles have emulators? I can play PS3 games on my PC, I can play GameCube games on my PC, I can play MegaDrive games on my PC, I can play C64 games on my PC...
But yeah, I'm an Amiga gamer (and you can play Amiga games on PC) so yeah, I'll admit to being biased towards PCs, because the Amiga was basically like a PC back in the day (but not shit like PCs back in the day)
I grew up with consoles so I have every right to be biased, I grew up with the PS2, I had some amazing games like Dragon Quest 8 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance yet here I am, sitting on a PC, telling people that consoles aren't as good as they think, whilst emulating console games which run at a higher resolution because it's on superior hardware...I also have a few games on Steam that are pretty good, I like Left 4 Dead 2, the only game with shooting where I have the accuracy of a god cus apparently my luck just dies in multiplayer.

Yes, everyone has framerate issues on Deus Ex, it is absurdly demanding. Have you ever considered turning down shadows? You'll never notice a difference but the frame rate will go up.
(It's Smash Bros, but on pc. The only issue is playing on an old computer. Man that low framerate. "Gets new computer" OMG THIS IS BEAUTIFUL)

The initial reason I built my PC was because Sony was blocking fallout 4 mods, I wanted to make my game look nicer and possibly run better because it was running at 20 FPS in certain spots on the map.
Bo3 is incredibly poorly optimised on pc simply because it's more popular on console which is so shit and I ended up wasting my money 😭
I play on Xbox and I've had a Xbox one for 4.5 years and I've rarely had frame rates drops only rarely when a huge ass explosions happen up close idk how people say PC is easier to play how howwwww couldn't even barly play Outlast

Just cause 3 runs at 20 fps on console and looks bad on ps4, I don't know why they decided to release it
I transferred from Xbox to pc and it's the best decision i made since consoles kick you out of your game , lose connection and limited games
I bought a used Xbox One just to play the Halo Master Chief Collection ans Halo 5.
Also I use it to stream some YT Videos with DNLA to my TV.
Other games I play on my PC for i.e. Counter Strike, GTA V or PUBG.
And damn, PCs got Minesweeper 11/10
